I am crying... struggling with HS since almost 12 years and „officially diagnosed 4 years ago“ (24 years old now). Nobody can understand the pain, just the people who are dealing with it. The scars and hyperpigmentations are also two facts breaking my heart everytime I see them. So thankful to found your channel here and that you mentioned the point that Hygiene has nothing to do with HS! I am working on my HS, lost 60lbs, eat well with less sugar and try to be confident with my body. I am sending so much love to you and everybody in the comment section. We are strong and beautiful ❤️

I’ve heard the “obesity” argument, but I first got this when I weighed 120lbs, and I was miserable. I had multiple boils, large flares that drained constantly, and I was in pain daily. Now that I’m much much heavier, I hadn’t had a large, painful flare in over a decade until this weekend. I’ve been having the worst HS AND LS flares in years lately right after my Covid vaccines.

Dr. Nina, I used to get painful boils in my armpits when I over used deodorants morning and night after bathing. Arrid, Rightguard and Secret were the popular brands back then. My underarm hair disappeared also. I stopped using deodorant altogether, and the boils went away. I discovered that I did not have underarm odor for years. Recently, I noticed a slight odor after much physical activity. I only use baby powder on clean armpits to this day. No more boils, fortunately for me.

I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. As a guy who has been going through HS for the last several years ever since I hit puberty. I'm 23 now and I recently decided enough is enough and that I want to take care and treat my HS. I told my dermatologist about this and she prescribed some stuff but also following your tips and tricks have helped me a lot.
The issue I have currently is that there is no bandage or bandaid or anything that can stick properly to my skin that can cover up my boils.
Apologies for the TMI but I find it difficult with my penis and balls in the way that the bandages or Gause or anything I use to cover up my groin area just comes off after I move or do anything. I'm very careful with the type of underwear I wear and clothing, amount of sweat and I keep it clean as much as I can but I'm getting frustrated.
Anywho thank you so much for making these videos.

Thank you for the videos you've made over the years. I've had the condition for 9 years. After a ton of research, the last few months I've had my HS undercontrol. I take zinc, turmeric, and women's vitamins daily. I eliminated night shades , dairy, and simple carbs from my diet. I use antibacterial soap and occasionally hibiclens to shower. I wear loose fitting clothing and change if I've been sweating. If I notice a flare coming I use PRID and it seems to go away if I catch it early. I've found covering an open flare with a gauze pad and securing it with a small strip of kinesiotape allows me to move freely and the adhesive isn't as abrasive to my skin.

My mother and I both suffered from this. I only get the every few years now. But, I have an autoimmune disease, so stress can assist in bringing mine on. I most recently had 4!!! in the same area of my thighs. I was so miserable, but all I could do was use antiseptic and keep the area as dry and clean as possible. Which meant I would bathe 2-3 times a day and apply my cream and antiseptic. Using separate cloth and towels for my thighs and underarms ( I get them there too) finally after 3 weeks they went away.

Now that I am 46, my underarms, inner thighs, and, bikini line, are scarred for life. Would these products including your oil mix be safe to use on the scalp?
I have been growing my hair out because I’m too embarrassed to show all of my scars and bumps all over my scalp. I’m scared of hair loss if I use certain products not meant for the head.

This medication has stopped them completely along with her diet. My daughter is also Autistic. She is very self conscious about her scars. I’m sitting in the hospital right now while she’s in recovery from surgery. She has fibroids and they found endometriosis. We have to take care of ourselves and share information to help us. Love all your videos, I actually got diagnosed from watching your videos and had to inform my doctors at the time. Changed my diet lost 30 pounds got pregnant despite having pcos. My boils have gotten worst to point they show up in another form called pyoderma gangrenosum. I am now faced with the decision of taking Humeria. That scares me due to the fact I work with patients closely everyday and the side effects are deadly.
Any advice anyone or Dr Nina on Humeria?

Hi Dr.Nena! Mayne you can help me out with a solution. What would you recommend for dry patches on the skin? They usually come out as one or two at a time but this year it has been more in different areas of the body. I do my best to moisturize but i still get them.

Old school. Baking soda and vinegar paste. Apply after shower. It will help restore your ph balance which is a major cause of odor. I don't use deodorant at night at all. Also don't overuse deodorant. If you don't work out, a swipe or two is all you need. Wash armpits morning and night using mixture before applying deodorant.
