Jeremy's shirt is a battle-map.
This makes me happy. I'm excited about the tool proficiency guides in particular.
+Abelhawk Same! I could never figure out the use for the things. It took me a while, and playing as a rogue in one of my players' mini-campaigns when I take a break, to realize that some proficiencies double when you use the correct tools. Before that... they kinda just looked like filler.
Also looking forward to the traps! I wish Xanathar's was out already, because I'm putting my group through Tomb of Horrors _today._ Could've been useful.
Random encounter table? YES!!!
I remember, in my first game ever, when we were just leaving the city for the first time, and the first thing we encounter after the DM roll for a random encounter was a couple in some bushes. We ended up traveling together, the road could be dangerous and there is safety in numbers. They turned out to be werewolves; the DM rolled double 0s. I think I should mention is was AD&D, so the idea of matching encounter challenge to party level was less of a concern. By that I mean, the game didn't care how weak you were.
Yeah!
Magic item distribution rules!
I will marry this book!
Simon39759 awfully wholesome compared to what I'm planning!

Aaaargh I want it now!!!
I just want the Gourmand feat
Me too
The summary with my magical experience with the DMG was when “roll 4 magic items on Magic Item Table B” in SKT. All right... Cap of water breathing, which is cool... Another one? Uh... Potion of... water breathing?! Two!?
I'm excited for this
I read his title as menacing editor :D
Today, I put 5 1st levels against each other.
Two died in half an hour
This sounds amazing can't wait for next Friday
MUST HAVE
I'm a little disappointed by their description of how their new magic items table. I was hoping for at least level ranges on items, for example "this item is meant for 5 - 10 level characters". Even better would have been an item chart based on class. For example: level 1-5 druid items and level 6- 11 druid items and et cetera. (Druids are really hard to shop for)
Drakkonus Frostburn he mentioned they are broken down by when players should get what.... Didn't he?
snipegrzywa not that I can tell.
Is he going to go over the sun soul monk? or is it the same as the one before?
i believe its the same one as before, theyre just including it in the same book so that people can use it and the stuff from xanathar's guide for adventurer's league without violating the PHB+1 rule
It's most likely a reprint. Like the storm sorcerer, swashbuckler, and mastermind.
Korvikaw so is it going to be PHB + Xanathar's + 1?
Nope, just PHB +1, if you want to use Xanathar's is that +1
Tiger Shark 378 for adventure league play you can only use the players handbook and one other book for your character. So they are bringing some things over to Xanathar's guide to make it easier. But for instance the bladesinger is not coming over and neither are any of the melee arcane cantripd that also came out if the sword coast adventure guide.
Best book NA
Magic item making finally
Too... much... teasing...
Its funny you used footage of dark souls then said there aren’t many games where player’s failures affect the game narratively, since you can kill the princess and plunge Anor Londo into darkness, and dying does not undo that.
Heyyyy
The guy tries to plug his DnD beyond.. Yet the DM tools in xanathars are useless for DND beyond because they dont give you a downloadable PDF for the high price!
987th like. 69th comment. That's all I got.
I refuse to watch the class videos and look at unearthed arcana. I only looked at Artificer. I dont mind learning this because I dont DM.
lol, more guidelines instead of just winging it. remember folks, it is not bad to just make something up as long as you do it consistently
If people could just "wing it" what's the point of having any rulebooks at all?
Eric Gorter You mostly just follow guidelines. Otherwise, you wouldn't be playing D&D. The sense of superiority you seem to have about "winging it" is both false and unhelpful to others.
That's why I like to keep guidelines in mind. So it's easier to wing it and still have it be compatible with the spirit of the game.
Guidelines are a great help for less experienced DMs, as they might not know how to wing it in a satisfactory way for players, especially if they start out with a "Me vs Them" mentality. With guidelines you generally avoid situations where things feel unfair to one party. More experienced DMs know to take rules and guidelines with a grain of salt, and sometimes they will adjust them to make the game more enjoyable for their specific group of players.
He emphasized repeatedly that it is optional stuff for those that want to use it.
let ppl male video games. last one is just bad.
