We now have a thread on The Fastlane Forum for businesses to avoid like Siteground and PayPal: www.thefastlaneforum.com/community/threads/companies-to-avoid-as-you-succeed-in-your-fastlane.105718/#post-1028726
You should never purchase domains and hosting on the same platform. That's pretty basic knowledge. It's because of this simple reason. If you hate your hosting service, you can easily just change the DNS to a different host really easily. You should never do an all-in-one hosting platform. Use the best one for each scenerio.
@@digitalmurph4114 not best practice. Hosting providers change service/pricing over time and there's always better competition. I end up switching every few years because of this. It's either because of quality degradation or a competitor has much better quality, performance, and pricing.
I also run away from siteground. I moved to digital ocean and my page went from grade F to grade A without any change. It is extremly slowly. Siteground then try to overcharge you and turn off server if you do not overpay. That cheat with performance unit constantly contacting you that your cpu time is finished.
This is 100% on the money! Siteground is AWFUL they treat you like garbage - everyone is an affiliate of them because they are expensive but it is all nonsense. Let's share this - I also genuinely HATE siteground
What would you suggest as an alternative? I'm not a huge fan of hostinger because their support isn't good either, people have had issues with downtime, and not to mention the security breach back in 2019. Right now I'm looking at either cloudways or namehero. Any thoughts on either of those?
they remove email encryption option several others. I totally agree i used for almost 8 years now this trash site tool in place without even asking they just did silently.
I have paid for Siteground for several perhaps five, But at inception, I got ill and so for that length of time kept up my subscriptions.. Bad move told them I had suffered a brain damage incident.. and tried to get Growbig refund, but alas no luck. I wasn't bleating just explaining, it was as though (their reply) it's not our fault....ETC. So I paid and I am so glad that I have found your VID and comments. So I will trash them and move. Just have one question though....would it be expedient for me to just download WordPress and begin from an unsupported format, I know it sounds like a rhetorical question but I could purchase security ETC independently.
I just got site ground and I can see it instantly. There is no support and their questions are all basic. If it's not about setting up an email or something basic that anybody who has used web hosting before know how to do on their own, it's not in there. Once you give them your money, you are on your own.
Hey Lex, thank you for this video. I too am going through a similar issue. Except I only have 5 websites and SG sold my most popular site to some off brand domain. Were you able to move all your domains and did you have to pay SG to do so?
Hello, I just found your channel just now and I have already watched several of your videos. The first video that I found was about PayPal. I have had the same experiences with PayPal, cash app, even RUclips running scams and doing unethical things. I am an entrepreneur/ independent as yourself and I would love to connect with you for ideas and guidance. What is the best way for me to contact you? This is a serious inquiry.
I believe that if they continue deceiving consumers like this, they will eventually fail. A company that prioritizes money above all else and is unethical.
Yeah, Lex is pretty much describing 90% of hosting services, which is why I really don't care for even having a website. Started with Hostgator, that sucked. Went to Bluehost, that started out good and then sucked. And with AI starting to take over most of the workforce, freelancing in and of itself is on the way out it seems. Would like to see Lex talk about that because it's important.
I dont get this i got one site with siteground , n the chat SUPPORT ALWAYES helped me out... but to get to the support its fuking frustrating i agree fuking bs..i forget how to go sometimes to support lol
No, I don't even know what OVH stands for haha. But honestly, it would be one more thing to eat my time. I want it handled for me, and it should be easy and affordable. :D

true?
Agree 100%, this is something I've learnt while starting up my business and becoming more knowledgeable about these things.
You can always transfer. I just transferred from go daddy to SiteGround, no problems
If you already know and like your hosting platform though, then keeping the domain there too is no problem

Letting $17 cost you tens of thousands is just stupid. Goodbye Siteground.
This sounds more like probles with domain name, purchasing rather than their hosting services

Hey, Lex, I have similar story with another hosting provider. Ran away from them for my own good 😀
Thanks from sharing your experience and Chemicloud please make more videos for this
What are you using instead of PayPal?

We will be happy to help, we are an honest company! We don't cheat customers...
What's your conclusion so far?

What are your thoughts on Shopify as a website host?
Hi Lex, Thank you for this video. Keeping doing what you're doing, because you're doing it good;).
Good man. Vote with your money.
Lol at "Run like the plague".
Definitely! :D

You are correct, Siteground is bottom of the barrel, just garbage company, spot on.
Thank you for this

TFW this video was actually preceded by a siteground ad. At least they'll end up paying you for that :-p
bahahaha that's hilarious! Thanks for sharing! 😆
Nice vid
Valued argument.. But, its time you transition and become the hosting company and get your sources from cloud providers.
I hear you on support though.
Use AWS instead
Interesting.
all you say is pure nonsense.
😅

Have u thought of building your own using OVH? it’s really easy to get your own reseller and create your own cpanel.
