1.5" foam board in the ceiling and walls. Floor will just have a moisture barrier and thin insulation under the floor. Not much compared to most but it's a weekend rig.
@@NotSoGrandGarage thanks, I’m building mine now & stressing over what I’m gonna do for AC while driving. It’ll be a weekend rig for us too but around in Tennessee without AC seems unimaginable
Consider covering the windows (sides) with perforated white vynil... a windshield fold will keep heat from pouring in also . The higher you mount your air conditioner inlets the more time the cooled air has to cool off the interior as it falls . Spent 3 years in a 35 ft. GM 4106 . Painting the top white , vynil window coverings & a windshield fold out , became a life or death necessity in desert environment. 🏜 ... helped an 8000 btu in room AC unit make that big twinky liveable .
@@NotSoGrandGarage If you mean that rig for use off grid ... I've a suggestion or 2 which may ease the pain . Tried and true stuff , some of it labor intensive but gives ability where you'd not have it (no grid tie) . The best I've got is knowledge of water conservation , which makes best use of limited water storage while still having usefull utility's somewhat convenient.
@@NotSoGrandGarage Best advise ... Consider storing your water in kegs (corny beer/Pepsi kegs) they're tested to 120psi . Come to be used with quick connect barbed fittings ... if you jet the outlets/faucets correctly you can get usefull pressurised water delivery (faucet/shower) off grid to the tune of 1/2 gallons per minute or even less making 5 gallons good for a 10 minute shower ect. Bar faucets made of brass can withstand 40-60 psi easily/safely , dishwasher 1/4 braided hoses can be found everywhere & otherwise maintenence involves an 11/16 wrench and a hand full of o'rings . Throw out that plunger 🪠, get 2 buckets and drill holes all over one of em take the perforated bucket 🪣 and fasten a piece of broom handle into it ... place the perforated bucket into the other . Either get creative with a 12volt windshield wiper motor or do your laundry by hand with that simple settup . Those 2 buckets and 3 more for change out water helped me and my wife do 4 days worth of laundry off grid for a family of 5 within 1 hour when we were in a bind and the nearest laundry was a 5 mile hike away. CPS saw that we keep our kids clean and in clean clothing , for that where we were questioned , we found less contention from authority figures . 😀 A little poor boy ingenuity goes a long way .

Very awesome!!! Those little mini split units are really awesome and really efficient!!!
Appreciate it bud!
That thing killed it!
It does the job for sure and doesn't pull much power.
Ceramic window film will greatly reduce radiant heat from the widows
For sure. It's in the plans... one of these days. Lol
Do you have any idea how many watts the mini split was pulling? Might be an option for soalr.
If I had to guess, around 1200. I can find out though. Less than 15 amps on 115v for sure.
What insulation have you done?

@@trailerparkjackson I'll be running the generator and this unit while running down the road. I've got a 3500w inverter generator. Should work decent.

We definitely will be having window coverings and such. This was more of a torture test than anything
