Bro, you ate a banana on the boat!?!!?! My dad would kill me for that! Anyways, love your videos, keep up the good work!! Your videos keep me massively entertained. I'm 16 and just became a senior in highschool with divorced parents and my mom, has cancer so I rarely get out of the house when I'm at her house. My favorite hobby is fishing and when I can't do go, I like sitting back and watching your vids. Almost makes me feel like I'm out there!!! There is multiple theory's as why bananas are bad luck, one theory is that there was lots of lost boats (ships) found to have rotten bananas on board. Being that it was the 1700's and people are superstitious they made the connection that bananas equal lost ships. The theory that I like more is that bananas have a very fast spoil rate. Shipping bananas had to be very fast, from point A to point B with no stopping. However, banana shipping also wasn't very profitable. So in order to support a ships income they would put fishing lines behind the ship to catch fish, but due to the speed of the ship oftentimes they would come up with very little or no fish. People at the time did not make the connection that they were going too fast to be fishing. Instead they opted for the idea that bananas are bad luck for fishing.
@@Sansyr yep, fished Alaska, Florida, Minnesota, Texas, Cabo and pretty consistently had bananas and caught a ton of fish. This is the most BS wives tale ever.
You have to make sure your still getting movement in your bait when mooching, retrieve it up the water column and drop it back down continuously, reel into the fish when they strike and keep tension.
Great job toughing it out. I’ve had many many long days on the water just like that. One nice fish makes it a great day. Beautiful fish, and you cannot beat a beautiful, bright, ocean-caught King.

I feel this video so much man 🤣I'm a freshwater angler but still trying new techniques is so much harder to commit to, gets me playing mind games with myself.
Oh wow just dropped! I love your videos man. I love fishing, but rarely have time. I just gotta finish school and then I can really get into the hobby!
Honestly from experience you can still slowly troll / mooch works great with a cut plug herring or anchovy just make sure you got a decent weight on there. Love your vids man keep it up
For circle hooks you want your drag a little tight. When they bite you wanna *reelreelreel!!!* for a good 3 seconds then bring up that rod tip and back the drag off. The one you released had a spotted dorsal so probably a King/Spring/Chinook. I usually go by tail/dorsal to ID.
I would recommend putting it in neutral as soon as you grab the rod. Its one thing to keep a 6 lb coho on while trolling speed... but you will lose a lot of chinook if you dont stop your boat. mature chinook put too much pressure on your rig and when you keep moving you will tend to bring them up to the top where they head shake and throw hooks. If you stop you can let them run down and play them under the surface more and have better control over tension .
I mooch only with twin 200hp motors cheaper to mooch. I keep it at depth just below the bait balls. I thread the line through the eye out the tail with a half hitch, hook by the head rubber band around the gills. Works every time for me.
Awesome brother good to see you and may God keep blessing you in Jesus name Amen. I remember when you started off in a small boat now you upgraded to bigger and you will get a huge one one day
Would love to go fishing with you. You make it an all day trip. The guy who takes me out on his boat does 4 hours max. Not complaining, I’m grateful for him taking me out. I’m just the type that can be on the water all day and night……. If the fish are biting. Btw that last big one from the other day was probably 25lb. After the inerds and blood being drained it probably lost 5-6lbs
