its not sht. someone just never installed the app. which changes the EQ settings. by default, its set to standard. also the new megaboom have better speakers. lastly its obvious that the original megaboom is not as good as today's competition...because it was first released in 2013.

@@Noughtgate yes. actually i was able to compare them side by side before buying them. some bestbuy store have a demo of the new one and the old one. i recommend you hear it in person.
hey so whenever i wash or submerge my speaker i notice that water somehow manages to get underneath the flap of my charging port. what happens if water gets into my charging port or salt water ?

Got the original Megaboom and super happy with that. Only disappointment was the bleeding of sound on highest volume and a bit missing on the bass. How does the new megaboom 3 compare on highest volume bleed and bass to the original Megaboom? Is it worth the upgrade?
Btw i dont think the floating is a new feature, i seem to recall my original Megaboom also did float...
I mean, the new megaboom should only have a slight increase in bass, so unless you're really into the floating part of design, you might wanna hold off on a upgrade for now. Or at least wait for a sale

The megaboom does not float....I have one myself. I also have the UE megablast.... it's bigger and heavier than the megaboom, and it has better and louder sound. I was unaware that they were releasing a ue megaboom 3??

If you like to listen to music in the shower get the boom 3 or mega boom 3, I’ve bought two ue booms and slapping the top of the speaker is very inconsistent and slow when trying to skip songs and it quit working for me on both of them. Having a button is just so much easier and more reliable. Plus you can tell if it is registering and not just hitting the top for no reason.
Is it worth upgrading to the megaboom 3?

Hello. I Like your reveiw of the UE Boom 3. How does it compare to the Megablast? I think these are the biggest ones that UE make and I believe the Boom 3 is a newer product.

Ankur Poyam megablast has tweeters but it doesnt matter that much. Based on sound alone i would go for the megaboom 3 to save 100$

I own a boom 2, I'm not audiophile but I feel bass is not punchy ass jbl flip 4. But I don't like jbl design. Upgrading to boom 3 I will get some bass over flip 4 or u recommend stick with boom 2 and wait some sale. Even wonderboom feel more bassy that boom 2 at low volume.
Don't listen to the obviously biased opinions. Ue speakers have a sound signature that is not focused on bass, period. This is because their speakers are meant to be used outdoors in which case the midrange should be more prominent. Jbl has better bass, but they are not 360 and the flip 4 doesnt float.
I think jbl has too many competitors for much lower prices. The tribit xboom, the fugoo style, the sockin d fine and doss soundbox xl are all direct competitors that will save you quite a lot of money. I don't think ue has any competitors for the kind of product they offer

Soundwise they are pretty much the same. Megablast has 2 additional tweeters but I believe the difference is minimal

I have Both of them, in both you can edit the audio EQ. In my opinion the UE it's better in gain without distortion.
Fabian Flops well there is no way of getrennt more Bass from The ue just cause how it’s build and second the charge 3 does not distort that’s intermodulation and for the most people the charge 3 is still better cause they want a speaker to sound good right when they buy them and don’t want to ewig them dirt and both don’t save the eq so if somebody else connects to the speaker the have the stock sound so all in all the charge 3 is the better overal package as i said
And the Xtreme 2 already destroyed the megablast at same release price of 300€ so the charge 4 will most likely do the same with the megaboom 3 cause ue never was really was good at making speakers or tuning them bad and just like the mayn Brand Logitech does it the use good components but tune the speakers bad
