I just bought myself one for $500! It ran when it was parked in 2010, it has 68,324 miles on it. I tested out the electronics yesterday and all lights, radio, ac, and horn work! I can't wait to get it running again
Nice score. I’ve got an 89 4x4 that’s my daily. Traded it for a motorcycle. I’ve named it Frankenstein because the previous owner(s) did some janky “repairs” that I’m slowly repairing as close to original as I can. I’ve had many vehicles but this truck is my favorite and it surprisingly gets the most compliments.
Great Score, I got one for $200 in worst shape than yours, with the tapping noise, but the 2.9 is famous for that, even when people rebuild them, they still tap. I recently put it on the road and been daily driving it. I'm going to be doing an update video within the week.
@@hatersgotohell627 Yes, tapping is bad, but could run for years. The 2.9 V6 were notorious for the tapping, even when people rebuild them they still tap, has to do with oil not getting to lifter and supplying the proper pressure. If it has a 2.9 and it's cheap buy it, if not run the other direction.
Keep the oil changed and fix the gas leak and put you a new gas filter on her and drive her. She'll last you if you take care and don't hot rod it around. I love ford rangers i have a 93 with the 5speed 6 cylinder. Great little trucks so enjoy it...
I got ya beat, I got a 2005 Ford Ranger 4WD with the 4.0L engine for free!!...lol I did do some work to it byt either way it was a nice gift from my step dad back in 2016 and I still run it today.
Nice score, believe it or not these 80's and 90's mini trucks are making a HUGE come back as daily drivers and weekend fun vehicles. That bedside can be fixed rather cheaply, you can get a repop bed side for a couple hundred bucks, Yes I know "it's not the original panel" but your going to spend more time and just as much money trying to fix that one just to get it in "decent" shape, it's just as cheap and alot less less time by just getting a new fender and putting it on and repainting the bed, because it already needs to be repainted anyway but the stock paint jobs on those 80's and 90's vehicle were bad at bad.
I bought one these off a man, and he said the air didn't work either, he just didn't know how to turn it on lol, he didn't know to mash the little button that had a snowflake on it, wow had air.
Bro I live like 3 minutes away from you. Its crazy, noticed the roads while You were driving. Sorry if I sound sketchy, but like I literally live nearby lol

ufff, ufff, uff, that ranger pulls very hard, excellent treatment, the engine works without any problem, greetings from Mexico.
I know this video is a year old, but I enjoyed watching! I just got a 1988 Ranger given to me & I love it!
I got one of these too. Except my exterior is white, my side mirrors are different and it’s a automatic transmission.
The red interior is pretty cool
Sorry just saw your comment. I do like it the color, just wish it was in better shape.
Is it still good for $500

I got my 1990 Ford Ranger for free. My grandfather gave it to me. I’ve done lots of work on it for the passed 5 years to make sure it says going.
