My father in law and I had the same dilemma years ago, pay someone to trim a tree the equivalent of 10 x the price of a chainsaw, or buy one, do it ourselves and rent a chipper. You know which way we went! Was a great afternoon haha! The chainsaw has had a lot of use since!

Well said, Sam! Yes, after the initial threshold of fear, it's pretty easy to use. I do understand that arborists have extra overheads of having a van full of equipments, running the business etc, but if we can DIY it, why not 😀

Nice! Didn't know there were such a thing as chainsaw chaps - seems like a good alternative for weekend warriors like us!

True, because of the horror stories I have heard before, I did a lot of research on chainsaw safety, and those things kept coming up. And yes not bad for a weekend .. 😁👍

@@SujMenon Staying safe is important, and chainsaws are packing a ridiculous amount of power. My dad is a farmer who works a bit in the woods, and although he uses some dodgy problem solving at times, he is adamant in using proper pants, boots, etc when using a chainsaw.

@@CrudeButEfficient ah yes, totally agree. He obviously will know better than us 😁

Game on mate, loving the fact you saved 250 of your currency & you’ve got the saw for life. Chaps are trendy 😜😂 & I thought you were going to do some gun slinging or cattle rustling lol 👍👍👍

50 quid for the saw??? It looked like it was missing the part for when the chain comes off the bar though..

Not sure Ben. This screwfix one had only 4 things in the box and all were fitted together as per the manual. Maybe the professional ones had that additional part. 😁

That logic is the reason I own most of my tools... find a doable job that would cost more than the tool to hire someone... spend 5 times longer doing said job than the pro ... but ending up with a cool tool paid for ;)

Yes James, quite often the tool turns out free!! Thats the beauty of it 😁

    Hello Suj,
After receiving the lathe machine. I started to need a saw like this. I need to buy an electric chainsaw. The saw cuts very well. You have given me information on this matter as well. It was beautiful in gloves. Thank you for the introduction and details. see you buddy. All the best.

hey thanks, Mehmet :), yes chainsaws are super useful. Especially with a lathe, you can cut a few logs and start creating bowls and all that. Take care 👍

Good choice as it was a pretty low stakes trimming. I would have done the same.
I have a tree in my yard that needs to come down. I think I'll have to hire that out though, if it's not dropped perfectly, it's going to take out power to the neighborhood, my neighbors garage, my shop, or my camper project, haha.

haha, I know what you are saying, John. Big ones are risky. I am sure you saw the one Jesse (Samurai Carpenter) trimmed at his log cabin. I guess that takes some experience. It also doesn't help if it has got wide branches either. 😀
