One of the greatest renditions of a video-game tune, in my humble opinion.
Same with Yoshi's Story and Mute City imo
@@rammsteinrulz16 Also, perhaps, Big Blue, and Brinstar Depths, imo.
Along with its predecessor planet Zebes
The top comment is always "This is one of the greatest" for any VGM song on youtube...
like, it could literally be Antimortal Cookies - "Bite on Prep Froth", and you've got people saying "This is the greatest song on youtube!"
Metroid meets 80s pop rock. I freaking love this version.
Fun fact metroid was released in the 80s
1980’s Rules
2:23 is the most important part. Unfairly cut out from the 3DS version and thus Ultimate.
I miss when Super Smash had its own recognizable soundfont.
Ong. I also hate the fact that Nintendo cut this song short. The Saxophone/trumpet part always gives me goosebumps and it’s a shame I can’t hear it outside of playing Melee.
@@shrimp-adoodle3444 why the hell would they put a section of a song in but not the full thing?
@@ProfessorGroyper No idea. Ever since Brawl, the Brinstar theme always played the first half of the song (up to 1:26) and just looped it.
@@shrimp-adoodle3444 not even a saxophone but okay lol
cringe ass groyper
Man, something about the Melee OST is just so perfect.
It has its own soundfont. So even though each respective theme is different, the sound used to compose each track is essentially from the same instrument. It makes all the different songs feel like they're from the same album. Which, the remixed ones technically are I guess.
'cause they kept all the songs Classic and brought them all to life😎
Takes what makes the original, then tunes it to melee
🔥🔥🔥WE MAKIN IT OUTTA THE ACID WITH THIS ONE🔥🔥🔥🔥
0:56 Samus Aran's entrance music is something indescribable. Words can't do it justice. A perfect culmination of sounds that just enter your brain and tell you everything's gonna be alright.
Funny how I somehow missed that completely until reacently I played Metroid Prime :D
I felt this
Lol sure. But i get some of "everything's gonna be alrigth, except the whole planet, of course"
she's so badass
That classic entrance music, all the way from the NES game that started it all... just absolutely beautiful.
2:06 - 2:35 I feel sorry for kids today who didn't experience this absolutely amazing part of the song
i am one of the kids who played the game back then, and loved this theme- AND DOESN'T REMEMBER IT. there is a memory hole there. There's nothing in my brain bank that recalls this
I legitimately think that taking songs and making them into this kind of rock guitar was the most genuinely intelligent thing HAL laboratory could have possibly done. It truly makes it feel like a melee song but it still makes you think about the 64 and NES versions. It's also a bop
Ur profile is garbage
Zerimus
I will never forgive Smash 4 and Ultimate for removing 2:06. By far my favorite and most nostalgic part of the song.
GO Melee (2001) and Brawl (2008)! I love Smash 64 (1999) too
they did the same with the dk rap in ssb4 and ultimate the last part where the song was on chunky kong was deleted as for brinstar I don't know why but it's really a shame
@@tralaw6144 Nintendo: 😜 we don’t like you
@@tralaw6144Onett and Fourside were also cut short
Yeah the second ending of Brinstar before the 2nd repeat sign at the end of the music, where Melee and Brawl starts looping back to the 3rd or 4th bar or something. Just my rough estimate without seeing the original music.
2:06 Literally the best part of the song!
that's debatable. i mean, first of all, there's the intro sequence. so, 0:00 to 0:14 0:15. the song then gets better. and then we have 1:09 to 1:26 (just before the drums come in). this sort of spooky, ethereal, foreboding section.
Fr
0:56.
And the part that follows 2:22 is second best!
*trumpet intensifies*
Growing up, I knew this song just from this stage.
Now that I actually managed to become a Metroid fan because of Dread, I can appreciate this song in a whole different level.
Dread is so good, I haven't finished it yet though. Is this theme used at all?
Same here, but I did play Super a long time back but Dread and then Fusion a year after solidified me into metroid brainrot.
Absolutely!
The transitions as well as the bass guitar strumming in the background just overall make this song fantastic!
This entire song is peak, but the INTRO though? It has no business going that hard.
I don't remember this theme going this hard when I was a kid.
That just means you didnt play on brinstar a whole lot.
@@JacksonHighlander You're completely right, haha. I actually remember hating this map as a kid. But the map is actually not bad.
probably cause of all the sfx, controller joystick clacking and arguments with friends 😂
GO MELEE (2001) AND BRAWL (2008) (Audience Cheering)
The best baseline ever! The synthesizers are so magical and that electric guitar is great! I didn’t even realize there were trumpets too. It’s a nice touch to the song as well. The drum roll to kick everything off is so fun too.
Fun fact: As a kid, I thought Samus was a man and was from Star Wars, and I thought ZSS was a gender-swapped version.
Well, i think she was a man in the manual or in a comic (not sure sure but it was a bad translation or something i think) so, you're not entirely wrong XD
Glup Shitto Samus? 😳
This track has so many GameCube 2002-2003 era vibes...❤❤
So many memories
I can feel Nintendo Wii has vibes too because it update or refreshed of GameCube
Fun fact evolutionaries 2 was released in May 31 2002 on gamecube
@@capybara4432Bowser: nice fact… wanna dance?
Brings back so many memories sitting in the room playing Melee with friends, 1:09 this sound is so Metroid through and through.
One of the best songs I heard on that Christmas morning, so epic! It’s too bad the newer games cut out half of the song, :/
I wish they brought back some old songs and maps into smash bros ultimate
SSBB was last one using full version 😊. But I heard they rearranged that music due to being more darkest game than Melee and they all grown up
2:22 was always my favorite part.
It sounds like a happy ending as if you cleared your way through stress and fear.
@@danielhetue6968I definitely get that vibe.
Same
The build up to and execution of 0:14 is a sound so inspiring, I can't really put it into words. Just beautiful!
Transforming into a block as Kirby and sliding through the destructable parts.
love the song, but that level legit scared me when i was a kid, it looked like the inside of some huge monster or something like it.
Me too
I mean... Kraid?
@@shiruotakuno28 not kraid, that other brain looking thing that shakes violently in the background
yeah the dick n' balls
So goddamn badass.
the nostalgia is real with this one
Rip 2:06-2:33 part of the song
2001-2008
What I’m saying 😔😔
Nintendo has to let their Games go on Playstation & Xbox Consoles
very unique theme, defines very well metroid
Metroid Prime 4 confirmed!!!!!!!
2:22 reminds me of 90's sitcom introduction like full house or that song Cherish by Madonna
Neat touch by adding the Elevator jingle, its the small things
The music from Super Smash Bros. Melee is so special and so is this rendition of Brinstar. I made my own rock cover of Brinstar in honor if this iconic theme
Played Melee recently for the first time in many many years. One of my favorite games as a child with hundreds of playtime hours (thanks to the game's statistics which keep track of those things). Didn't realize back then how great of a banger this song is. The music and the arrangements in the game are brilliant overall but this has to be one of my new favorites. Haven't ever tried a single Metroid game but this alone makes me want to try one. Such an epic song. Might do something with this or/and with other Metroid music as well in the future (as I'm a musician). Cheers!
(Edit: Spelling)
Could you imagine this playing while Samus is escaping a gigantic Space Pirate base after she sets off the self-destruct and stuff is exploding everywhere and alarms are screaming?
Oh heck yeah. It would be an EPIC experience.
Agreed.
0:40 #1 on top, my favorite part
0:56 My Fav Part ❤️❤️
Me too!!
She’s Pretty
I really love this song
Maybe the best Metroid soundtrack (for me)
The intro is so fucking hype
AND THE SLAP BASS???
Nothing hypes like Melee. Adrenaline injected straight through your eyes and ears.
I like that the music takes a little break towards the end to be a wholesome sitcom intro song.
2:23 For some unexplained reason, this segment of the song was removed in Ultimate.
I know and I freaking LOVE that segment of this song.
GO MELEE (2001) AND BRAWL (2008)!!! (Audience cheering)
The best version of brinstar
that funky 90s guitar! (despite this game coming out in 2001)
In the early 2000s everything musical wise was inspired from 90s music
@@BJam951and it meant for old generations who known about video games in the past
I literally just realized that this is a remix of the Smash 64 version, it's even got that unique intro tune playing throughout the song, starts at 0:08 , plays in your right ear.
Not gonna lie, I've NEVER heard the part at 2:06 in all my time playing Smash until now.
It's only in the Melee version. They cut that part out starting with Brawl.
@@ajdynamo6866 They kept that part in Brawl. In Wii U/3DS and Ultimate they cut that part out.
it’s the best part
@@goombaodysseyGO MELEE AND BRAWL!
The Melee soundtrack is so nostalgic for me. Honestly, it feels so... Magic.
This theme screams 80's and I'm all for it
The guitar is ethereal in this song
goes so goddaMN HARD
This made Samus sound so cool and badass!
This is truly a game of all time.
words can't describe how amazing this makes me feel. a true masterpiece.
2:06-2:35 This fucking part is one of the main reasons why I love this remix so much.
Love the nes original but this one I have more nostalgia for.
Best song in Melee
Super Smash Bros. Melee is and always will be the best super smash Bros. Game!!
2:23 Underrated part of this music.
The best part
This Melee version sounds better than the original 64 version since the electronic and bass guitars have unique sounds as if they’re screaming.
Nintendo sure put their extra disc space to use
I love N64, GCN and Wii due to old system of nostalgia
This song might be one the most memorable from smash bros for me. This was my stage. Samus was my main. Kicked a lot of ass back in the day with her quick moves to this song >:)
SUPER SMASH BROS MELEE IS MY FAVORITE FIGHTING GAME ALL THE TIME EVEN SWITCH AND 64 VERIZON TOO
It sounds like a Saturday morning cartoon and I love it
Really my first exposure to Metroid was from this game.
The artistic setup of the stages was immaculate with the immersive music and interactibles. I mean they are called stages for a reason.
This one of my best memories when we entered Rio Rancho New Mexico when I turned 10
This track single-handedly made me a Metroid fan. When I first played Smash 64, Samus was the only member of the starting roster that I had never heard of before, so I largely ignored her and paid her no mind… until I battled her in Melee for the first time and heard Brinstar’s music. No game with a track this incredible could escape my notice- I just HAD to play it. And I did!
What Metroid games have you played since then?
I can't stop listening to this music❤
the lava suggests that it's actually norfair rather than brinstar. yet kraid is there in the background. either way, luigi somehow claims to have won by doing absolutely nothing here despite the lava making it impossible to avoid damage without moving to high ground.
It’s acid not lava
@@PrincessShokora2002 there's acid in crateria but not in brinstar in the metroid games.. brinstar is overgrown with plant life and has absolutely no liquid anywhere.
@@kamerondonaldson5976 in the first Metroid there’s acid
Does burn
Yall are lost. This is the NES/Zero Mission OG Metroid Brinstar theme and level design.
OG Brinstar in NEStroid were cave like and had acid, not lava. For some reason Nintendo is afraid of referencing Super Metroid.
Brinstar is the sole reason my brothers hated playing Melee with me when I was younger XD
0:39 At this point, someone is already smacked into the air
brother like 1:09 when it slows down with the synth into that epic drum fill to pick it back up....WHATTT?! insane! chills.
The synth is taken from the save game/item room theme in the Metroid series.
Super Smash Bros. Melee was one of the first videogames I've ever played, I was a huge fan Metroid back then and this reendition gave me a Super Goosebump...
Such unique guitar
This brings a Odd nostalgia for me
I genuinely forgot how great this soundtrack is
2:24 Sounds like an 80s Sitcom theme
0:56 is such a powerful theme, so triumphant and majestic and graceful, so “I’ve done it!”. A great heroic phrase that signifies having overcome and stuck the landing on powerful terms.
Never played the stage much, but then I was in my car thinking about this song and was like "wait a minute, did that song go HARD af!?"
I came to see and yes it did go HARD AF!
A banger
🗣🗣🗣 We stayin on top platform with this one!!! 🔥🔥🔥
Having a fun adventure on a weird planet but then remembering you're actually the coolest spaceheroine of all time.
Considering i just recently beat the original Metroid....my feelings on this song changed from when i was a kid playing Melee im like this is alright...
Now that ive played the original Metroid on NES this remix hits different...love it
One of the best soundtrack ever so many good memories 😢
So wicked badass.
Hated the stage and the acid as a kid but loooved the track - played it just for the music! 🎉
My brother is a huge fan of Metroid.
My favorite theme!!
The fact that Metroid and Melee were released just fifteen years apart 😮
Great track, and I particularly love that tight snare.
WE GETTIN A METRIOD DREAD SEQUEL WTH THIS FELLAS 🔥🔥🔥🔥👩🚀👩🚀
0:27 to 0:40 was the best part of the song nostalgic
WHAT IS THAT MELDOY 🔥🗣️
A while later into the Raw Town Hall Meeting segment on the Raw after Survivor Series 2019...
*Brinstar entrance theme suddenly plays in the background, catching the attention of the entire Raw roster*
Vic Joseph: Oh, wait a minute.
Empress Madame Ninja Barrett: (walks out to join the Raw roster wearing the black metallic General Manager's outfit, the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship around her waist, the pair of Elias's wristbands, the black metallic TNA General's coat and hat, the Constable of SmackDown Live medal around her neck with the red heart locket, the Snake Amulet and the Lone Wolf amulet pendant also around her neck, the black metallic hitman's outfit and the full body armor set based off of the Bane of Darkness Spirit, Galeem which was fused with the light of Ultra Necrozma, Fused Zamasu and Ashrah with her advocate, Paul Ellering at her side.)
Vic: It's Empress Barrett!
Jerry "The King" Lawler: She's back.
Vic: Last night at Survivor Series, we all thought that our current Acting Raw and SmackDown Live General Manager, the Grand WWE Champion, Empress Madame Ninja Barrett perished while honorably protecting and shielding both Monday Night Raw and Friday Night SmackDown with her life in order to keep them safe and defended from NXT's invading forces.
Jerry: Did you see the look on the face of Seth Rollins when his Shield elder sister walked out after believing that she might've been sacrificed? Oh, man.
Vic: And you can bet that Empress Barrett's going to be tightening up security for both brands just so something like what happened with NXT's invasion doesn't happen again.
Both: (enter the ring and each gain microphones in hand in order to speak to the Raw roster and the WWE Universe.)
Ninja: Wow. Thank you for the love. How's everyone doing tonight? Alright. What's up, Chicago? Man, that was live. You guys are live tonight. (turns toward her Shield brother.) Hello, Brother Rollins. I understand that you have some questions for me about my new hitman rank bestowed upon me last night by King Corbin. So, let's have at it.
Seth Rollins: Oh, you're dang right I've got some questions about that.
Paul Ellering: (speaks to her Shield brother on behalf of his first ever female Grand WWE Champion client.) Mr. Rollins, the reason for my client now becoming the chosen hitman for King Corbin is because King Corbin himself knew deep down inside that she would practically be the only one that would be strong enough to perform the obligation of stepping up to the plate on his behalf when he went missing due to a kidnapping by NXT before the show even began and perform the multiple tasks of taking the bull by the horns, leading both Monday Night Raw and Friday Night SmackDown to victory in his place by herself and eliminating NXT when it was asked of her to perfection and also to much more effectiveness than both Raw's and SmackDown's teams combined. He also knew that she would be the only one that was strong enough on her own to have defeated them.
Ninja: Yes. King Corbin was also kind enough to warn me that upon wearing this, I would experience a shift in mentality, my loyalties toward certain allies would start to become harder to tell, lines between friend and foe would start to become blurred as I slowly became aligned to his vision and plans while falling under his control, not completely and mentally bound by him, though as I'm still able to fight and perform the normal obligations and tasks that come with being not only the Acting Raw and SmackDown Live General Manager and the Constable of SmackDown Live, but also the reigning, defending, undisputed Grand WWE Champion and that I would begin to feel a mental rewiring within the first few seconds of putting this outfit on, but he assured me that it was completely nothing to worry about. It has quickly become very clear that I must now enforce the will of King Corbin. Anyone who dares to oppose him will soon be finding themselves swiftly eliminated at my hands. Through me, he and I both know that his vision for the future will succeed.
Seth: So, you now serve as the chosen hitman for the King of the Ring although you're not completely bound by him, mentally?
Ninja: That's correct. I'd like to think of it as me becoming either an unhinged or unleashed hitman. You're gonna have to ask him about that.
Still a banger in 2023.
I love this song so much. I don't even play Metroid.
I’ve been listening to JapaneseJazz Fusion the past couple years, and you can really hear how it influences video game soundtracks. So amazing
This is one of my favorite music from Smash Brothers Melee. Melee had class
This takes me back
this and Mario 3 are my favorite remixes in this game
Why am I crying 😂😂😭😭
