  • Wow. It's already the middle of September. Crazy, right? It's been a whirlwind of a summer. So many new and exciting things have been unfolding. At the beginning of the year I made a vision board of all the things I wanted to accomplish. On there I put my dream land, horse barn and home. I honestly didn't expect any of it to happen this year but here we are. My boyfriend and I got our dream property and have been busy building a horse shelter, corral and fencing the property. We also got a cute lil camper that we will live out of until a house is built. The camper has been getting a full makeover with new flooring, paint, sink, etc. We basically gutted it. Oh! and we got this tiny little wood burning stove to install. It's going to be adorable. I didn't take the time to film any of this process, although I kinda wish I would have. We've just been so dang busy ya know.
The horses have been getting a nice break while we're working. I had a goal of having Weaver completely trained by the end of summer and obviously that isn't going to happen. She had been doing so well for a long time and when I started to push her a bit more she's been having big blow ups. Bucking, bolting, etc. Basically reaching a state of full blown panic. It was really humbling for me to realize that we have to go back to the basics and do a lot more groundwork. She's by far the most difficult horse I've ever worked with. But what's difficult is reaching her and earning her trust. I know she has so much potential. Once we move onto the property I think everything will change. Working with her and seeing her daily is going to make a huge difference.
So rest assured, she will be a proper horse in no time. :)
I've started learnig about liberty work and trick training and am so excited to apply what I learn to Trout and weaver. They will have so much fun.
Well, I'm going to go stay present for the rest of this process and can't wait to share this next chapter of life with all of you.
    xoxo
