I lost my father just over 6 years ago to cancer, what stephanie is doing is absolutely wonderful way to honor her late father, my father was not creative but loved plants so in his memory, I planted trees, it's kind of a way of them living on I think, anyone i have lost in my life, I do the same for too x
Same here. 😭😭😭😭😭😭 My Dad was a Pastor for 35 years. His legacy is his messages filled with God’s Word, & more times than not... COMEDY. He loved telling God’s Love, by comedic examples. His visitation service, was 8 hours long. He was so well known, from being on Radio, that 100’s & 100’s of people came. I still have tons of his sermons on cassette tape. In 22 years, I cannot bring myself to listen. I fear the remaining piece of my heart would break.💔 I cannot wait for the day, when we shall be together in Heaven. I long for his big bear hug.
Philip singing Snow Patrol (Chasing Cars) is the boost I needed today! Stephanie, you are such a wonderful daughter to continue your father’s incredible project. It will make LaLande absolutely unique and commemorate your father’s artistry as it should be.
Me to, so many talented people at Lalande, it's so lovely to experience all their different talents. Both Stephanie and Lalande are magnets that attract like-minded hearts. Helen McNeil
I really enjoyed Philip singing that song as well and started singing along. Love that Stephanie caught it. I really miss singing in our local community choir. When I first saw the image of her father for this vlog I thought it was Michael Potts at first glance. Beautiful that Stephanie shows us how much she honored her father by continuing his art project.
Hey Stephanie, graphic designer here! I think the yellow tinge on the tile was probably due to how the original image was scanned (this has happened to a lot of art I've scanned in the past, especially with pencil lines--it shows up in the digital file as a yellow tinge even if it wasn't yellow in hard copy. There's probably a color theory reason why that is but I'm not exactly sure)! The good news is that it's a really simple fix in photoshop using brightness/contrast/color correction! :)
I just lost my beloved father a few months ago. He also loved art! I'm watching and crying. Miss my father so so terribly. Youre so lucky to have his art work Stephanie
I lost my father last year in August, the very same day I recieved an award. Rollercoaster of emotions! I decided just the other day to donate money through National Trust so they can plant 10 saplings and decided that was in memory of BOTH my parents! 🍀❤️🤗🌞🌳
Steve is so wunderful for all the thought and charm that he takes to finish your father’s dream kitchen! And even though doing this artistic masterpiece and bringing so much joy to you Stephanie, and all of us of course, he still is so modest!!
I agree Franka! He is a dear! You can tell he is a wonderful husband as well. When he talks about Sarah and all her talents, he just glows. He is so proud of her. He is a talented, gentle man! Probably much like your father Stephanie!
My father passed on 3/12/21 of natural causes just shy of his 91st birthday. We laid him to rest last Friday due to delays with cremation. In the last 2 years of his life, he began painting (it was a guided class at his retirement home) and he loved it. I love that you are surrounded by your father’s art and are going to complete his kitchen tile project. I hope that I will find a fitting way to honor my father.
Awww, sad to see Andie leaving. I shed a few tears myself. She is such a beautiful soul. Andie's artwork is spectacular.. I hope she returns soon sometime.. How awesome it is that Steve will be digitizing all of Stephanie's father's artwork that he designed for tiles..
I am delighted to see all the special graces that truly make us human at Lalande and them being nurtured by you, Stephanie and the others that you attract. Art, music, gardening and floral art, interior design, faith, cooking and hospitality. Making room for all of these makes our souls larger. What an inspiration to me and others to have more of these things in our lives to enrich us.
So beautiful. I was so touched and moved by the sketches your father left behind. His work is so full of joy. He will live on, not merely in his work, but in your heart.. You are so blessed. Thank you for sharing something so intimate with us. God bless.
What a legacy your father has left you and all who will enjoy seeing the art he created, it’s a beautiful tribute. Your vlogs are far far better than all the others put together, it’s so spontaneous, infectious and satisfying, thanks, thank you. WCL
The view from your office is sooo beautiful-like a sublime landscape painting. 💚 Phillip not only plays piano well, but his singing is wonderful!!! Such a beautiful voice. So glad you recorded that!💖
Looking forward to watching this video I always thought that Stephanie favored her mother's so much until the first time I saw a picture of her father and really she is a perfect blending of both her parents how lucky can she be
That was so special & touching. I lost my dear Mum 18 years ago & my dear Father is now 91. I cherish every day with him ☺️ You will do your Father proud Stephanie 💕

It is going to be so stunning and an important part of the Chateau that your keeping his love of art imprinted in the Chateau for ever!Just beautiful! 🥰We all can’t wait to see it! Your one special soul that’s for sure!!!
Your father had such a modern quirky way of depicting people, characters and buildings. So very unique. It's delightful that you are going to continue his project. X

I love Andie's style, so colorful and cheerful. Plus, I am so excited about the tiles. Your father had such an amazing imagination and talent. I look forward to seeing how that comes out.
I love your father’s art work. Some of them would make incredible puzzles! I’m so excited that you got a metal detector. I can only imagine the treasures you and the gang will find! It’s almost time for the best show on tv to begin... thank you so much for all the joy!
I never knew my Father, he didn't want me. I have felt a loss my whole life missing out on not being able to Daddy, even now at 56 I feel it. But it makes me happy inside 🥰 when I see others that have had a loving father. Bless all the father's that love and are happy with their children 💖
Sandra Westley it’s so sad when that happens but some men and regret to say some women do not want or care for the responsibility of children, so try not to take it personally, but think of it as a fault he had and probably has still not dealt with it. He has no notion of the joy that giving love to children can bring.
Oh that blue and white would look so cool!! It reminds me of the facade of classic Portuguese churches, covered with blue & White tiles - look them up, they are absolutely amazing!!
Sorry to see Andie leave, but I have a feeling she will be back! She is such a talented artist and captures Lalande beautifully! I feel certain that Steve will do great justice to Stephanie’s fathers work as well! It will look amazing when it is completed and transform the kitchen and fill it with even more love. Phillip’s music is so beautiful...we need more of it! 🦔

It struck me as I viewed this video that the entry to the chateau has become so familiar to me and loved as I think of all the life that has been lived in that home. It has become very dear to me and a comfort during the past year. As we have all dealt with the effects of one lockdown or another I have lived vicariously through your channel. Of all the chateau channels yours is my favorite because of the people and the way you make a family-a unique family . I feel like if I visited I would walk into a room of dear friends that I just haven’t seen for a long time. Seeing the progress of the renovations, but just as important, living life to the full during renovations is really quite inspiring. Stephanie, Nattie, Selma, Philip, Kat, Marie, Gerald, and Mummy and the other fine people who have graced your abode- big giant heartfelt hug from a very sentimental viewer!
Wonderful project for Steve to complete in honour of your Dad. At last Mummy’s garden will have a good supply of water....fingers crossed 🤞. Thank you Stephanie and friends 🙏🏼❤️
I vote for a collaboration where Steve or someone else creative adds the figures your father didn't have time to make in the manner he intended to complete the work.
Maybe you can take images from some of his other art pieces to fill in the missing pieces. That way it will be his vision and style. I just love your father's art, Stephanie! This is going to be an epic project!
Steve is amazing - the angel face in the chapel he did is stunning! You picked the right artist for this project! Also, my 14 yr-old son is a Canadian/American so I have an affinity for Canadians! Haha! 🇨🇦 🇺🇸
So, so happy that there is now a firm plan for the art tiles in the kitchen. It will be breathtaking! Andi's art is so lovely! I hope they are to be framed for the chateau.
I love how this vlog was filled with so much art! From the amazing project started by Stephanie's father, to Andie's beautiful drawings and Philip's voice and music skills. Lalande must be such an inspiring place to be ✨💛
Such a touching vlog, it will seem like a little piece of your father is in the kitchen with you all the time when the tiles go up Stephanie.I think you have his eyes from the picture of him next to you Stephanie. Love to All!!!
Chateau diaries could maybe use the moat water for watering the garden or check out the grey water options and use water efficiently lowering a bill or two. Simple natural filtration options include sand, charcoal, and gravity. Quite interesting and You Tube shows many. Keeping and reusing barrels for capturing rain water or perhaps making own cistern option. Putting perforated line out to plants and watering amply will give better results. Hint moat water has the needed fish fertilizer and tea leaves exude nitrogen. Wonderful viewing or reading. 2021 Gardening! What to do with kitchen waste chickens won't eat? Would love to see the tile drawings up on a wall to get the full picture! They’re all so magical! 💙🤍💙🤍 Also, Cadbury eggs can make s’mores a lot more interesting 😋
Sad to see Andie depart. I hope she will be able to make it back there again sometime. I love her Artwork. Stephanie, you always make your father's dreams come true. I Love that about you, and I love how everyone else helps you make it.
Steve has taken on a monumental task in completing the design for the kitchen tiles, I can see it will be an very emotional journey for Stephanie, but just imagine how fabulous it will be, pride of place in the kitchen where it can be enjoyed by everyone... DJ would be very happy. 🏰
So much of your day is spent on planning, maintaining the "Physical Plant" and grounds that make up Lalande. How you keep tabs on all the details is truly amazing. The interior and exterior demand constant tending and even then, not every solution proves lasting. Patience is required! May you continue to be able to draw on the resources that are your own, as well as those around to support and advise you. The tiles will be wonderful. A suggestion: attach removable label to each of the drawings by number and letter to easily reassemble the layout again. Left to right, numerical starting with "1". Vertical rows, starting with "A"
A beautiful vlog...so moving in such different ways. Your father's wonderful illustrations for the kitchen, and Phillip's playing and singing moved me to tears. Stephanie, you are surrounded by such amazing people. It helps to know homes like yours exist when you live alone.
Andie's art really gives me such a warm fuzzy feeling. And it's beautiful to continue your father's project. What a wonderful legacy. I love his art too.
From the pipes to the roof, the men are so interesting!!! Their skills are 👍 great!!! Love the artistic ideas of dad!!! Thanks for all the updates!!! Great video Stephanie, have a great week.

One of my fave songs. Phillip is multi-talented and such a good sport at all the ribbing he gets!
Also, I absolutely love your father's tile designs....wow! What a fabulous project!
You should make Andi’s pictures into postcards. You could give your B&B guests a postcard of the room they stayed in as a remembrance of their stay.
Excellent idea I think

My father recently went to heaven Christmas day. I know you must still miss your father a lot.
So sorry for your loss. Prayers.
So sorry for your loss. How sad that it was Christmas Day too.
Would love to see the tile drawings up on a wall to get the full picture! They’re all so magical! 💙🤍💙🤍
Also, Cadbury eggs can make s’mores a lot more interesting 😋
Sad to see Andie depart. I hope she will be able to make it back there again sometime. I love her Artwork. Stephanie, you always make your father's dreams come true. I Love that about you, and I love how everyone else helps you make it.
Who doesn't love Phillip, he is such a gem.
Yes, and his music was lovely in this episode. I'd love to hear more music in the chateau.
Andie is so talented! Her work is beautiful. So is your father's work.
Andie's paintings are so beautiful
Such an Amazing thing to Honor your Father who wanted to honor LaLande!! I am in awe it can actually be finished.
Steve has taken on a monumental task in completing the design for the kitchen tiles, I can see it will be an very emotional journey for Stephanie, but just imagine how fabulous it will be, pride of place in the kitchen where it can be enjoyed by everyone... DJ would be very happy. 🏰
Andie - hope to see you back at Lalande soon. You will be missed. You have a quiet presence that will leave a loud void
Omg Philip sings beautifully! I would by his CD in a heart beat! 😍😍😍😍😍
Vertical rows, starting with "A"
TILE WALL IS GOING TO BE BEAUTIFUL!!!
I love that the premieres always happen in my lunch break! Best way to spend a lunch is at La Lande!
A beautiful vlog...so moving in such different ways. Your father's wonderful illustrations for the kitchen, and Phillip's playing and singing moved me to tears. Stephanie, you are surrounded by such amazing people. It helps to know homes like yours exist when you live alone.
Andie captures Lalande perfectly
Andie's art really gives me such a warm fuzzy feeling. And it's beautiful to continue your father's project. What a wonderful legacy. I love his art too.
From the pipes to the roof, the men are so interesting!!! Their skills are 👍 great!!!
