It is sad to see a once great line reduced to this. You could get trains to Scranton and Buffalo through the Bethlehem Branch. But thanks for filming and posting this video. There were some great shots of the line!
I haven't seen an RS-1 yet. I think you mean either an S-1 or an S-2. Okay, now I see the rusty RS-1. Cheers from eastern TN
Would enjoy more details of history, start, stop, and dates.
Great video!
Great photography of the RS1 pickup, but that locomotive is loaded with rust and will need lots of care to complete restoration.
Being involved at the A&A and the restoration of 57, it really doesn’t need a whole lot. The boxcar just houses spare parts for the alco RS1.
I always found converted toolcars to be fascinating. I also find it fascinating about what they might be putting In the tool car.
Just spare parts in this case not a lot inside
Wow i see my house!!
Awesome catch!
That's a wobbly line.
Interesting bearing covers on the RS-1. Looks like they came from Blomberg trucks. Also, the dark blue SW (#51) has some interesting modifications.
57 has Roller bearing trucks that were swapped out in a deal between the owner and NS in the early 2000’s before being leased to east Penn
how do you find about the schedule of a train like this ?
Word of mouth in this case.
18:00 mins of her, yet little info for nofices trying to understand.
Google, my friend. Google....
I believe that's an S1 not an RS1.
It's an RS1: railfan.com/alco-rs-1-moved-to-allentown-auburn/
It appears that the RS1 is (or once was) equipped with a steam generator.
