Can you tour a short term rental in Zanzibar called The Zanzibar Beach House?
Do they not have walk-in closets in the bedrooms? Why only those shelves type? 🤔
Very nice.
Instead of saying '' master bedroom'', why not use main bedroom or principal bedroom.
Are there screens or mesh on the widows to prevent moskitoes from getting inside?
Whats wrong with master. If it's your home thn you are the master?
@@MMBeing Master bedroom and boy's quarter are 2 of the colonial terms that many people are trying to replace with main or principal bedroom and worker's quarter or housekeeping quarter. Let's leave those words for the history books.
I understand what you're saying. But, master does not have to be a negative term, or used in a negative way, unlike the N word.
I am the master of my thoughts, my ideas, my life, and the master of my house.
Did not Africans have quarters for their help before the colonizers?
That's just me.
@@MMBeing It's all about context. Why and how a word is used? Per example, African Americans use the N word among themselves. You yourself gives many examples of context. The specific context I am sharing with you is that master bedroom and boys quarters were used in colonial times when in a racist way against Africans to denigrate, and verbally and psychologically abuse them. In our modern time, most Realtors use main or principal bedroom and workers or housekeeping quarters. The worker is not a boy or girl but he or she is an adult working for a wage.
@@princeheavenly6219 I agree and I understand what you are saying. As you said, its about context. That being said, I can use master in a context that is not negative or degrading. As far as "boys" quarters that is another story.....Most Realtors I've dealt with use the term Master relating to bed and bath...No need to go back and forth. Your point is well taken...
