It is rare on youtube!

This beautifully done! My son was diagnosed with both so we found it really confusing. Thank you for helping us clear up some understanding of the knees!!!

You’re most welcome! Thank you so much for watching 🙏🏼
Sir very nice explanation 🎉
Thank you!
Very nicely explained with the right details...I got the fat pad irritation after my lateral meniscus repair surgery :(
So sorry to hear this but hope you are doing well now
Excellent explanation and illustration. I now know that what I have is a Hoffa's fat pad situation. Now I just have to figure out what to do about it.
Thank you for watching! Wishing you all the very best
Great video thanks, Ive had MRI indicating I have a fat pad impingement in left knee, and quadricep tendonitis in same knee, its depressing! What i find weird is that I can go on bike as it starts to aggravate after about 20 mins or its under a heavy load, yet I can go for walks, jog on a treadmill and use an Arc Trainer in gym without issues??
Thank you
Welcome! Thank you for watching!
@@ClinicalPhysio Took what i learned here to the orthopedic who confirmed that it was a patellafemoral truama injury by looking closer at the MRI. So really do appreciate it. Now we have a plan!
Always amazing graphics, very helpful to fully understand. What app/program do you use?
Thank you so much! It’s our own app that we had made for us by developers so we could do teaching with it 😊
Very informative, thanks. What is the possibility of having both of these at the same time from an overuse injury (cycling)? I have swelling above the patella and have pain with flexion, while also having pain below the patella with full extension. I find that to have the least amount of pain at about 25°. I've had this for over a year now and I've followed several plans from physios without correction unfortunately...
can standing too long with knee slighlty hyper-extended could causs hoffa fat pad syndrome, also high likely is it to show up in MRI
I have a question. I have pain for both, cant do fully bending and straightening the leg. My doctor and radiologist say I have Hoffa fat pad inflammation and thats why. Could it be then? I have also extreme pain when I want to completely bend my knee... Doctor wants to do a platelet rich plasma treatment for hoffa pad...
Soo do we not try to fully extend the knee if we suspect fat impingement? Great video, thanks
Great question! I would naturally do it for testing from a diagnostic capacity, but then perhaps you may spend a small period of time offloading extension (but making sure the patient knows that completely stopping extension could have an impact on stiffness)
@@ClinicalPhysio exactly what I thought m, I have been dealing with this for over 3 months , I hurt me knee bu suddenly stepping out of bed to a deep squat to grab something on the floor and this seems to be my pain; drs say chondromalacia patelle but honestly I think the fat is also a culprit, when I activate my hamsting to do the leg lift as i point my toes to the roof there is a little to hesitation to fully extend my knee, but I don’t want to end un with less ROM compared to my other knee soo I push myself; just wasn’t sure if I am irritating further by forcing it past discomfort; thanks, you’re awesome.
What to do if you've had both injuries and both flexion and extension hurt?
Hi Ben! I would definitely suggest seeing a physio so you can have this properly assessed
Same here! Following some isometric exercises with the PT and looking for specialized medical advice, as I also have PF syndrome / Chondromalacia.
I don’t have pain when the area is touched but my pain is sore when standing for long periods but better when walking. It’s like a sharp nerve pain I get.
So sorry to hear this, would absolutely recommend that you see someone to get this checked out if you are worried
Is it common to have Hoffa’s from overuse with a hip misalignment ?
Overuse quite possibly… but I’m not personally convinced that the hip alignment plays a consistently significant role in that
I have Hoffa’s Fat Pad Syndrome and its actually very painful, the fat pads on both my knees are constantly swollen and always irritated. My physical therapist tells me its because my knees goes slightly inwards which is putting the wrong load on my knee.
🙏🏼
What is the solutions for it
@@ishwarbhattarai9210 I got specially made soles that give extra support under the curved part under the foot. So that my legs are bent slightly outwards instead of inwards. I have these soles in my training shoes and use them during training. I was also told by my physical therapist that I need to do strength exercises that strengthen my hips and VMO muscles. In addition to this, I try not to do things that hurt my knees as much as possible. My knees are much better now and rarely hurt. I don't know if any of this will help anyone else, but it's worth a try. It is probably a combination of all this that has helped me. Good shoes for everyday use are probably also a good idea. ☺
Is Suprapattellar fat pad syndrome the same hoffas syndrome
Hi! No this is different, different location
"Cinemah" 😂
😂
Is Khalid British or Aussie?
@@alexlackner1945 Clearly British!
Great, I have both after a few surgeries 🥲
Hope you are doing ok!
