That last line gives me goosebumps every single time. I didn’t mind your tangent, it was interesting to hear the viewpoint of someone in the military. This song is always relevant, no matter what era you listen to it in. And having been in high school back then, I can say for sure that this song became more popular due to the war going on around that time. It struck a chord in all of us. I really enjoy watching your reactions because you truly appreciate the music and the genius that went into it. I came here for the Coma reaction but never left. 😂 Keep them coming!
Thanks so much for watching since then! That's an awesome story im sure it did resonate with you guys back then. War is really the dumbest thing man ever invented. This song was amazing though!
All of his songs most of have the most serious meanings but because they are expressed people take them differently. He's highly intelligent much to everyone's disbelief and these songs are true to what they were feeling at the time, this is how they created them. Mangarinegirl your words were perfect. I get into more of the songs meaning then the songs themselves I think.. when you put something together like this like coma I mean it gives you an incredible feeling as the above comment said goosebumps. I can listen to the same songs over and over again still hear different parts of it that I never heard before catch a different cord then I never caught before and I still love the song, it never dies out. Matt I am so glad that you are doing Guns and roses reactions as most do not. Also just a note look up a video and watch them see it it's so much better. Keep on rocking it son you doing great.🌹
I think we are from the same era. I watched them his stage for the first time and it was simply breathtaking the power that he had and the diversity in which he can sing and in his songs it just caught me and I've never been able to replace it with another band. I'm all for Hendrix, Zeppelin, Aerosmith I mean the best of the best but even though he is not from their era he it's in with them. To this day they are still my idol I would see them no matter how much I had to pay or how far I had to go. We get to witness and or have witnessed something our children will only be able to speak about. To me that's an honor. Have a blessed day 🌹
Love to see new people getting into GnR. I am old, I discovered them back in 87, seen them 16 times live. Last one was in 2018. Before covid. People say bad stuff about Axl's voice these days, but man, try going to a gig with them! It is amazing! Going to see them again this November in Australia if money and covid allows it. Keep on rocking dude, love your videos!
Definitely one of their most epic. Nice to hear personal stories, that and insightful comments and sheer appreciation is what makes these worth watching!!
Yayyy love your reaction as always! This song is really amazing. Next I would suggest November Rain, Paradise city, You could be mine and a hidden gem: The Garden
Even more relevant than ever! I'm posting this a year later. This is from 1991. Purely classic! They really out did themselves with this one, which they wrote themselves.
Its really interesting to see someone whose had experience in military or bootcamp in military, really glad i came across this reaction. I really liked the whole analysis of the song and can tell ur really passionate on music pls continue. Pls do live versions of dont cry or Paradise city their amazing too.❤😊
Hi I just want to tell you I enjoy listening to what you have to say. I consider myself a dinosaur I am a teenager from the greatest era which is the 70s. I have been able to experience all the greatest rock groups there is. I am so pleased that you get that Rush feeling when you listen to Guns N Roses I loved those guys with all my heart and soul and I am so happy to say that I got to see them in 2021. Rock and roll is the best it brings a person back to life if they are feeling down I am going to be 61 years old and I can't get enough of the rock music from my generation I feel like your generation has missed out on the greatest music that there is. My personal opinion regarding rap well I find it not to be music but that's just my opinion it gives me absolutely no rush for for a Feeling you have thought the feeling when you listen to Guns N Roses it just gives you a rush through your blood and feels like life is so great and that's what it does for me and I love all the rock groups that I grew up with I had the best ERA to live in as a teenager and I am so glad Guns and Roses are still on tour. I suggest that you read about Axl Rose's life it is heartbreaking but yet he is one of the most inspiring men that I have ever learned about he is a total inspiration. And I suggest you watch the videos to estranged and you could be mine with Arnold Schwarzenegger because Arnold Schwarzenegger is the one that wanted guns'n'roses to do you could be mined in The Terminator 2 he gave them leather jackets with bullet holes in them and it was a very exciting moment for guns I love these guys with all my heart because they make me feel really really good. Hang on to rock and roll it's just the greatest music in the world it brings a person who needs to be lifted up you are very young yet if you get a chance please go see them you will not regret it
There are a lot of themes being examined in this song.. Probably the most subtle, yet fascinating, is the idea of rugged individualism, which was great while taming the continent… Probably hasn’t been as beneficial since.. Our biggest weakness, it seems, is we cannot agree on anything, and we know we’re right..
I just hope you figured your life out so far (you mentioned you’ve been struggling) and you feel you are on track man. Not many people appreciates these less mainstream GnR songs like you do. I am delighted people still find these awesome songs through your channel!
thank you! all is well finally. its been tough. i am re launching the channel soon with my best friend. more reactions to come! i hope all is well for you brother! so glad i discovered GNR!
First of all, thank you for your service. Secondly, I'm loving your journey down the GNR rabbit hole, instantly subbed based on that and your thoughtful reactions.
Cuz it’s real music. No one and ain’t no band will ever creat real music like the 70s, 80s, and 90s. No computer shit just pure music and dedication from audience and musicians
100% agree 👍 with you when War Happens Its Not The Politicians who go into the Trenches Its Ordinary People Such as Yourself who put Their Lives on The Line 😥 Great Reaction 👏
Don't cry, November rain, Estranged.... are the trilogy jungle, its so easy, Mr brownstone, paradise city, sweet child, think about you, rocket Queen patience, one in a million (sorry haha) Right next door to hell, dust n bones, bad obsession, back off bitch, double talkin jive, the garden, garden of Eden, don't damn me, bad apples, coma... civil war, yesterdays, get in the ring, breakdown, pretty tired up, you could be mine... I'd say they have a few bangers.... being the biggest band on the planet for a few years....
Hey Matitude, "Welcome To The Jungle" It started it ALL . MTV didn't want to play it and a Cable Company owner was going to Drop MTV IF they Played it. MTV played it one time for David Geffen @ 1am 4am central time. After it was played MTV switchboards Blew up, want to know WHO was that and Play it AGAIN!!!!. I believe the one NOT wanting it played had Brown Stains on their Noses after That. IF you REALLY what to see Guns-n- Roses when thy started to hit it BIS watch Guns-n- Roses LIVE @ the Ritz 1988 The Whole Concert. New Subscriber , Neal
I think Civil War is more about the history of violence against each other and that we are all humans at the end of the day, yet here we are having wars with other countries when we should be uniting. So it's not specifically about the American Civil War but its certainly relevant to the meaning of the song
@@DHPREACTS Oh wow, you replied before I finished watching. Just ended. I’m loving your reactions! I’ve liked their music before, but I just plunged into all of it about two months ago and am loving it! Dying to see them live! Also recorded my own reaction to November Rain live in Tokyo in 92. Haven’t posted yet. I’d love to see yours! 😊🤘
@@DHPREACTS Also, I hope you’ll react to more of their music videos and live performances. I knew the hits but hadn’t seen the videos. 🤯🤯🤯 Don’t miss out!
I'm a big gnr fan for long time. It's so cool that someone young can still feel the energy they had. I suppose you've listened to alot of their stuff now. Do you have a favourite track? Did you listen to double talking jive? I love that one. And many more.
There was a cause at the time that had asked them to write an anti-war song, can't remember what it was now though. They definitely hit a home run with it.
Keep it up man keep working hard, living the right way and most importantly stay humble. I got a feeling you're gonna take off here. Just use a little Patience(yeah I went there...you should too)
The breakdown to when the piano comes in at the end and it goes double time is incredible.... all 4 guns n roses albums are incredible, you might find a couple tracks you don't like as much as others but they're still better than anything else haha Chinese democracy is a different subject I still think it's a fine album, but it's not guns n roses..
@@2tonbuick yeah I know. Not the same though as their old now so def not close to as good as they were in their primes. But I’ve gone to two shows since 2016 and had a blast. Their tour is also the 2nd most successful tour of alltime in music history.
Hmm... Dont cry would follow suit with those songs you just did. You should also do your crazy from appetite for Destruction. Your on the guns train now my friend.
Interesting fact, the first day they took off on their private jet to start the Use Your Illusion tour the pilot came on the tannoy and announced the start of the first Iraq war that had just broke the news.
Guns n Rose's Rocket queen It's so easy Night train Pretty tied up Garden of eden. Nice to see you've covered some Chinese democracy Try madagascar from that album
It is about all civil wars. Those in the past and those yet to come. It is the point of the song that it relates to all wars. Extremely powerful but phenomenal song. he goes from mellow to crazy to mellow he's just amazing in here as well there isn't a song that he does that I don't like. But again this is controversial as always he did this in the 88 AMA awards. Anything this song and another song I think it was patience phenomenal but once again he was on a stage and not a big enough for his personality.
If you get a chance you should do a reaction video to the song Nightrain, but from the Live Era album instead of the studio version. Great live version of that song from their prime
Okay dude. So I was just listening to a Def Leppard album and heard one of my favorites, called “Gods of War” and I thought of you. Since you loved “Civil War” and the message behind it, I think you would really appreciate this one. Great song, great lyrics, and you know enough military history to get the ending part. And I saw you uploaded “November Rain” twice but both times it was gone by the time I got to it. I’ve been waiting for that one! Will we ever get it? I figure it’s either being blocked or technical difficulties with your upload. Hope you’re well, and take care!
Thanks for keeping me in mind lol I definitely will check that out. I'll probs do a video on it! Both times november rain got blocked and I don't feel like posting a bad video where I pause a bunch just to keep it up for views. I want to provide a good watching experience for my fam. I've actually been told my videos are too long and I pause too much as it is so im trying to work on that haha.
@@DHPREACTS I get what you’re saying. I see people say that on videos from other reactors and I don’t understand that. To me, when you pause to react that’s the whole point. I know most people don’t like the pauses but to me it’s not a reaction if the person isn’t REACTING. Oh well, I’m in the minority. I’d watch November Rain even with the pauses but do what you feel comfortable with. I can only imagine what a pain it is to upload something only to have it blocked.

Very deep song. Axl Rose is a genius as a lyricist. Hell he’s a genius as a Frontman.
Agreed!
He's a love him or hate him frontman. Me - I grew up on this stuff and I love him.
Yes
This song needs to be heard more today than ever before. The lyrics speak to today's events then people know
first song on the album and it blew everyone away
Guns N' Roses created masterpieces and are much much more than the mainstream songs they have, musical genius and genius lyricists
This the last song Steven Adler recorded with them. The original GnR drummer
And his drum track was pieced together from around 60 takes because he was so strung out. Fortunately, he survives.
This song will always be relevant.
Agreed.

I know most people don’t like the pauses but to me it’s not a reaction if the person isn’t REACTING. Oh well, I’m in the minority. I’d watch November Rain even with the pauses but do what you feel comfortable with. I can only imagine what a pain it is to upload something only to have it blocked.
@@mangerinegirl it was a huge pain making a 19 minute video and it getting blocked haha. I see what you're saying, I feel the same but I'm just trying to please everyone.
