Some great insights from a guy who has the experience to share them with us. I noticed he took a few extra items "just in case" which a lot of bike packing gurus advise against in the name of saving weight. I've become a bit more of a weight weenie as the years have gone by because the hills don't get easier. I do think Josh is wrong when he says his spork and extra socks are weightless: everything weighs something and together these items can add up. Maybe I will start taking a bit more stuff though in the name of comfort and safety.
