I have a deep affection for Cosmo. Back when I was a young trans street kid in Hollywood, almost 30 years ago, Cosmo was always welcoming and would talk to us, providing encouragement, refuge, and laughs... We were homeless and that store was our drop in center. Cosmo never judged. I distinctly recall a time when I was thirsty, and Cosmo kindly got me some water. I also remember that when one of my sisters needed a job, Cosmo hired her, even though it wasn't popular to employ trans women at the time. Cosmo is truly the Queen of Melrose. I am grateful for all that he has done. Cosmo has always been like this: beautiful!!

Cosmo and I are almost exactly the same age, our birthdays aren't even 30 days apart, both scorpios, former drug addicts, progress not perfection, Cosmo is always sharing AA CA NA wisdom, I got clean in the 12 step rooms and so did Cosmo, when I was in LA and Hollywood it was 100% the place to meet anyone who was anyone, they were all getting clean in AA etc....
These are the kind of icons we need in our world. The queen doesn’t care what anybody thinks. She’s not worried about being the new hottest influencer, the views, her looks, she’s just HER SHE IS THE MOMENT. everything he says is truly wild and I would love to see cosmo come out with a book about his life.
I love it when Cosmo gets excited and he gets all that extra base in his voice. But for real I met Cosmo once about 27 years ago as a young stylist and he was so helpful and took me to all 3 of his stores. I think I saw him at his peak, he was supercool and on top of his game, so handsome. This video makes me happy.
Have met Cosmo on a few occasions when visiting LA from New Zealand. Such a genuine soul and a great human being; his brother (twin) is just as nice xx from New Zealand.
Omg I loved this episode, because her drug path seemed almost like mine, but when I was done I was done, been clean 18 years this coming July 6 Th. As a person with 30 years in recovery , I am familiar with a number of comments he made about addiction and recovery . Clearly , he has spent time around 12 step programs , which is GREAT !!! The statistics are lousy , so I consider him AND me to be MIRACLES . I hope his message is heard AND followed by all those that look up to him . He has obviously worked hard to get where he presently is , and can now TRULY ENJOY his life , free of dependence on substances that are nothing but ugly hindrances to the good , peaceful life . Doctors can't put anyone on hormones. People can describe their situation and request hormones. Just because such an arrangement doesn't work for Cosmo and more time is needed, it doesn't mean other people have to wait an entire lifetime.
First we must acknowledge that it is a privilege to achieve medical care especially as trans people but before that we must acknowledge that white people in a white supremacist society can be given hormones and treatments from earlier ages historically and they are allowed the privilege of figuring it out while receiving medical care. For many others including myself we have had to wait 10, for others many more years before receiving medical care and attention. If you pay attention to the patterns of these videos, white girls are more likely to receive medical care from earlier ages and less transphobic comments. Nonbinary people are real and we are seeing one on screen being interviewed after being invalidated on this channel multiple times and misconceptions regarding nonbinary, intersex, and trans people and our experiences and how fluid it is rather than label, explaination, label, we are going outside of the binaries FINALLY and it is her choice whether she wants hormones, but she also loves her masculinity as well, which is outside of binary understanding and conceptions. Though she had the privilege to receive hormones, she chose not to to be able to experience her full identity and express herself without the labels and misconceptions.
Doctors are not actively giving out hormones like it’s candy. It’s a long process, and it’s based on how the person feels and what they think is best for themselves, and whether the doctor agrees with that based on the MONTHS of experience they have getting to know their patient.

Honestly hearing about how Cosmo's doctor pushed her to embrace being fluid and transcending gender roles instead of going straight for a big, complicated and life changing procedure lifted my heart. In the time she went, he could have been a lot more negative about saying "oh you don't want that, it's too much for you, this and that." Sounds like Cosmo's doctor really knew her and made an effort to really understand and see her.

I love this.! Back in the day, we use to say/fight "don't put me in a box" or "don't label me". This is me, love all of me. These days people fight for the opposite. They want to be labled and want to be put in a "box". It's insane !
Her story hits home for me I also am an addict in recovery and same story using with friends partying until it wasn't fun anymore it was like a never ending nightmare for me but now im living drug free and so happy and excited for life 🥰

Honestly hearing about how Cosmo's doctor pushed her to embrace being fluid and transcending gender roles instead of going straight for a big, complicated and life changing procedure lifted my heart. In the time she went, he could have been a lot more negative about saying "oh you don't want that, it's too much for you, this and that." Sounds like Cosmo's doctor really knew her and made an effort to really understand and see her.

No disrespect but I had no clue who either of you were when I watched this but I know you were sent because I think it literally saved my life … I m still in recovery after fleeing for my life to get away from my ex who was also my dealer ….. I got clean and just recently relapsed and was not being kind to myself about the setback . Cosmo , you just unlocked some type of radical acceptance within me by sharing your story and your realness restores a lot of faith in humanity that I thought was lost . I love this.! Back in the day, we use to say/fight "don't put me in a box" or "don't label me". This is me, love all of me. These days people fight for the opposite. They want to be labled and want to be put in a "box". It's insane !
Her story hits home for me I also am an addict in recovery and same story using with friends partying until it wasn't fun anymore it was like a never ending nightmare for me but now im living drug free and so happy and excited for life 🥰
So happy she has been able to recover and help others 😊
