    I can’t thank you enough for posting this video. Several years ago I bought the Kuryakyn Kellermann bullet style turn signals to replace the stock bullets on my 2019 Softail Slim. I should have bought the Kellermann’s with only the turn/brake/running, but I got the ones with the amber turn signal as well.
    You would be amazed at how difficult it is to find online the wiring diagram for what is what for the Harley wires. Maybe it was just me not knowing where to look. I had to eventually take everything off and I simply added pins to the Kellermann wires and inserted them into the Harley harness to see which wire was which. I’m simply not going to use the wire for the amber turn signal, as it would not work. The brake light illuminated yellow when trying to make it work. Per this video, I understand Harley can program the bike to make the amber signal pin that is unused work. That unused pin was actually hot on my bike, but it still did not work properly. I won’t be contacting Harley , because they can barely answer a basic question for me.
    I have not put the Kellermann’s on yet, because I still have to figure out how to mount the license plate.and run the wiring to it since the Slim has the plate hang off to the left side rather than mount directly onto the back of the fender. I think I’m going to put the license plate on the left side axel since I have an axel mount, and try and determine which wires to use to illuminate it and how in the world to route the wires to it.
    Thank you and Merry Christmas!

      FYI - You can freely view on-line parts catalogs and wiring diagrams from Harley's Service information Portal (SIP). You may need to register for an account. Wiring diagrams are exactly the same as you will find in the Electronics Diagnostics Manual and Service Manuals available in hard copies from dealership. 😎

      Thank you so much! I’m new to the HD world as of 2019 and no one around me has an HD, so no one to ask for help. I actually called my local HD dealership one time to ask what the exact size of the rear axel nut was and they said, “we aren’t sure”.
      Thank you for your kindness and again, Merry Christmas, From Texas.

    On a FXLRS - Can these be run simply as turn signals only if you tape off and don't connect the brake light wire on the turn signal?

    • @kodlinusa6155
      @kodlinusa6155 4 месяца назад

      Yes, of course! At the end of the day, they are just a light bulb and only need a 12VDC source to turn on. if you want red turn signals only hook up the black and red wires, if you want amber connect the brown and black wires.😎

      If you wire as shown in diagram #2 in this link store-bp8vrdq9yl.mybigcommerce.com/content/techtips/Taillight%20VS%20No%20Taillight%20BCM%20Setting%20and%20Wiring.pdf you will not need to add any additional wires. Your turn signals will be red and not amber though. If you want the amber for turn signal then you will have to purchase the pins from HD and add the additional wires or you can purchase our new install kit #KUS11500 that includes a load balancer, and all the necessary wires with OEM connector that plugs into existing main harness. You can solder LED wires or use the Posi-Lock connectors that are provided.

    Do I still need to do splicing if I have triple play already which gives me turn , brake and running already with stock signals

    • @kodlinusa6155
      @kodlinusa6155 Год назад

      Yes, you will need to splice the Neowise wires to your existing harness regardless of what you have already. I would suggest that you read the tech tip in our Tech-Guide section of website on how to wire the new lights on a bike without a taillight. This way they will operate in the same fashion as your existing turn signals with the triple play setup.

    I have the same bike 20 fxlrs but I have a custom dynamics triple play that allows my turn signals to run, turn and brake but I would like to have Amber turn signals. Would I have to purchase the wiring kit for this setup? And how would I wire it with my custom dynamics triple play?

    • @kodlinusa6155
      @kodlinusa6155 2 года назад +1

      To use our Neowise lights with amber turn signals you will need three individual signal/voltage sources for Run, Turn, and Brake. It is my understanding that the Custom Dynamics Triple Play combines all three signals Run/Turn/Brake onto a single wire to the turn signals lights and they all operate as a red light. This is due to stock wiring on your bike having only a ground(black) wire and a turn(purple) wire from main harness to turn signal light. Since you stated you want an amber turn signal with our Neowise 3-1 lights you cannot use the two units together. You would need to remove the CD Triple Play and get our install kit. It will have added wiring to supply the additional signals/voltage for individual Run, Turn, and Brake from the main harness to the turn signal lights. I hope this answered your question.

    Do you know if these lights will fit under Leatherpros v3 bags? M8 Softail

    • @kodlinusa6155
      @kodlinusa6155 2 года назад

      No, I do not. K68489 Neowise mini fender strut taillights fit in the pocket on the strut left by the removal of the OEM turn signal. After mounting they protrude out from the strut less than 3/4". If those bags do not use that location, give you that much height clearance, and do not block the view from the back then you should be good.

    On your helping hands you should put some shrink tube on them so they dont cut the insulation on your wires.

    Does anyone know if the fit is decent on older bikes, like a 2013 softail?

    • @kodlinusa6155
      @kodlinusa6155 4 месяца назад +1

      You need to look at your rear struts. The main issue on older models is the turn signal mounting holes. We designed our Neowise mini-fender lights for the newer style of struts that have an oval and a round hole in the strut. The issue with older bikes is at some point they used a bolt that went from inside the fender through strut to mount the light. On these struts they typically used two round holes and one has a spacer so the bolt going from inside of fender to light mount doesn't suck in the fender when tightening. They won't work with our mini fender strut lights but you can get the bullet style of lights to work if you get a long 8mm x 1.25mm hollow bolt to replace the studs in those lights. You may need to cut the bolts to proper length for fitment, but it can be done. 😎

    i'm getting the amber brake light function running in these in 3-1 (running, brake, turn). i have a 17 breakout and i installed these lights following the instructions using all four wires spliced into the stock harness. the stock wiring diagrams look to be very similar as far as the wire color mapping. any suggestions? i'm guessing the BCM needs configured?

    • @kodlinusa6155
      @kodlinusa6155 10 месяцев назад +1

      For the Breakout the stock T/S has only three wires. If you used all four wires from main harness you will get an amber LED when brake is applied due to BCM configuration sending brake voltage down the wire for T/S as well as brake circuit. We have a tech tip "M8 Softail OEM Light Harness to 3-1 LED Lights" in our Tech_Guide section that might help you out. Here is link to it store-bp8vrdq9yl.mybigcommerce.com/content/instructions/M8-Softail-Rear-OEM-Light-Harness-to-LED-Lights.pdf. You can always call us if needed.

    • @kodlinusa6155

      Shouldn't be a problem if you understand your bikes run/turn/brake circuits and how your integrated taillight has been connected to those systems.

    I need help. I went the route of buying Harley pins for the existing connectors. Once everything was pinned and sautered in accordance with the instructions included with my lights, my battery is being drained and my bike won't start. It kills me too because I love the look of the lights.

    • @kodlinusa6155
      @kodlinusa6155 8 месяцев назад +1

      I would suggest having a trained technician look at it. Of the four wires that should be involved, none should have any voltage going to them when ignition is turned off except maybe the brake circuit but only if you have a malfunctioning brake switch that keeps brake lights on at all times, it's typically the front one. The only other time would be if you left your flashers running. Without some other issue the lights alone cannot cause this issue. Alwas go to our website and download the latest version of the instructions from products detail page or tech guide section to ensure you have the latest version available. Due to length of time between production runs and shipping dates to customers we may have updated the instructions or developed a tech tip to further help our customers.
