This is so encouraging. I've been on my own with my hair a long time. Taking care of the crown and back is so difficult but necessary
I try to stay on the 6 weeks schedule... But my funds kinda started to go crazy. I've done the front before! But...now I will be doing the back for the 1st 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I watch most of your videos and I just love the realness. I have microlocs and I currently retighten my own locs and I’m in love with it. I also use your oil and I last retightened 5 weeks ago and have so much growth lol. I might have to retighten at my 6 weeks I usually do 7. I also would love to join the zoom that you are hosting for retightening.
I have a little under 300 micro locs and I’m able to stretch my retightenings out about 3-4 months. I’m approaching 11 months locked and my current struggle is wrangling those loose hairs that grow outside my locs 😂

I have a question. I just got starter brotherlocks ™️. Is the consensus basically that if you get sisterlocks you will automatically lose your hair? I started using a moisture infusion for my locs, I have a scalp care spray that i use (both water based) I actually was scared to hear about the traction alopecia and so I with the help of my loctician did it every 6-8 weeks. She’s also very gentle with my hair. Would my hair still break off or will I start to get alopecia regardless? I can’t wait to hit the sixth month mark and get the self retightening class
Hi. I am 12 years loc'd! I maintain my locs. I retight every change of season to avoid over manipulating my locs. I started out with Androgenetic Alopecia. I was not aware. I thought locs would help with my thinning. Wrong. I'm now taking Minixidil, Spironolactone and I use an LED cap.
Great results after 8 months. I have enjoyed locs and keeping them healthy is my first priority.
Initially my Installer told me that pain after retights were normal. "Just spray water on your scalp. That will help." I knew then I would self maintain. I would certainly have ended up with Tension Alopecia.

Thanks for making this! I'm adding your vid to a locs playlist I made that I watch while retieing my microlocs. It keeps me entertained for the 8-9 hrs it takes to do my hair and makes the process seem less lonely and tedious.

My consultant is a Master loctitian. She does my 427 locks in 1.5 hours. I took the SL class in 2013. AT no time did either of our trainers state how long it should take to do a retightening. They did say strive to complete an establishment within 25-30 hours for the first full head.
I had a knot in one of my locs and the LOCTICIAN cut and trimmed it. Not sure if that was the right thing to do, only time will tell I’m sure😩

I’m new to the journey, had my 1st retie = $130. My next appt is 12/8. I don’t want to jump the gun and rush into doing it myself, but I’m definitely looking into getting there not many days hence!!

I just retied the right side and the top of my hair. It took a few days because of work. But I'm off on December 1st. I will do the Left side by then! I also just got my 3-way mirror 🪞 so I can do and see the back of my head! I enjoyed doing it! I also have the issue of The Hair Growing OUTSIDE the Loc!

I have to learn how to do my reties. I’m currently going every six weeks but my loctition keeps telling no more than 5 weeks. Not comfortable with that. I’m 13 months and started having a lot of growth with your product however, I have one loc that has breakage and I have no idea how it happened and now I’m nervous to mess with my hair. I do pull my hair back when I workout but I take it out right after the workout.
You are establishing a wonderful habit--- checking your hair and keeping tabs on what is going on. FOLLOW your intuition. I'll never understand why a Loctician feels 5 weeks is acceptable unless it's very very early in an install. This is simply not sustainable for the average person who wants healthy hair long term.

I retighten every 5 weeks. Mine are too tiny to stretch 6+ weeks.
Do you have any tips for lint removal?
Please Google lint on my channel. I have tons of videos.
What about a wool needle?
I'm not sure I've ever seen one. Wool is soft. Is it part wool or is it wood. If so, I'd say yes.
