You have a good taste in music. It is a very special Cure album that often goes unnoticed by the majority in comparison to 'Head on the Door' and 'Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me'. :-)
Pornography takes you to the edge, but The Top takes you over the cliff.......... Tragically underrated Masterpiece in their collection of albums... It's pure psychedelica and Robert Smith totally out of his head... if you ever wanted to hear the Robert Smith solo album, this is as close as you're ever going to get........
@@JRStephens5005 I listened to the darkest tracks- this, Empty World, Shake Dog Shake, over and over again after buying the album the year of release. It took many many years before I was diagnosed with clinical depression and found a pharmaceutical remedy, and to understand why these songs spoke to me so.
Mysterious, creepy, haunted, the stuff of nightmares! Simon sitting down and playing bass like a gargoyle; Robert doing slide with that weird cacophony....I love it!! The sleep-walking pace. Perfection.
Lucky to be old enough to have been at the Top tour - this track was always my pick off the album and live, the guitar solo at the end, could saw your head off..
The Mighty Cure...I was Roberts mum n dad postie in Crawley 89-92
That's actually really cool, everyones got family, ever robert smith😃 nice👍
Robert Smith, thank you for sharing your gift with us. I love your voice❤
The Top is my favourite album of theirs. Unreal to hear the whole album that magic night...

Mine also.
It's brilliant and, at times, as dark as anything they've ever put out. This one and Empty World are pitch black.

Wow, this is an outstanding performance of one of my favorite Cure songs.
Agree totally! They did this rarity so well 😮

I think songs should be played at their original speed to retain their mood. But, it seems like most bands speed them up live.

fantastic song, wonderful era, the top album is a really creative one.
Amazing ,👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻!
thx for the upload!!!
Dadaist. Bertoldt Brecht. Surreal. No wonder David Bowie loved The Cure.
soooo good
Gefällt mir gut!
Ich auch!
I think its about heaven and how there is none you just imagine it all.
Interesting thought
Its about everyone leaving though. But interesting thought.
Hmmmmmm
I used to think that. Some of the lines of the song are lifted directly from J.D. Salinger
good song in this version
so psychedelic
Very, very dark.
GULLUP PLAYS A GUITAR HERE ??
+seven daggers oooooops no - it looks like a bass ...
It's Robert's Fender Bass Vi
Oops sorry!
Bass chords
He plays the chords on the bass. That is why it sounds somewhat like a guitar.
the feel of the drums here is all wrong? listen to andy anderson’s part it’s much more behind the beat and chaotic
Jason Coopers been butchering drum patterns in The Cure for decades now.... Sad....

Cooper plays all songs the same way 😅
Love the song but don’t think this version does it justice
