What is so good about the series which just builds to the story is that final scene in season 2 with the soul eater moon. Just creates so many more questions for anime onlys like me. I consider Soul Eater top 5, so to see a more spunky, daring style that's IN THE SAME WORLD just has me so hyped for what comes next. Soul Eater was too short, so to see this as its sequel is so cool.

I watched it because of Kenjrou Tsuda and I stayed for HOW AMAZING IT IS. Soul Eater and Fire Force has that feel of adventure and badass fights. And I don't even watch Soul Eater, but I will 👍

The thing that pushes fire force so far above soul eater for me, as one of the teens in the 2000s who loved it, is how absolutely astonishing all of the audio work and sound design are in fire force. It takes everything that was good about soul eater and adds an extra layer of visceral intensity that carries the series and even it’s less well written moments
Just started watching it. Yes just started. And yeah it’s face paced. But yeah it can go 2 ways. They either building you up to the current events where it’s bigger than what you expected the world and lore to be. Or limit budgeting. Can’t wait to see the rest unfold
And if you read to the ending arc kf manga everything is tie up to the start there is no random thing that happened everything ia important and add to the story

Full metal alchemist is a much better example of how an anime should be imo. Perfect balance of world building , lore , animation, action and story , with a healthy injection of typical anime tropes. The issue with soul eater is it leans way too heavily into the anime tropes . The character flaws such as black star being obnoxious or death the kid not being able to focus when he sees things unequal or uneven is just far too exaggerated and wayy to much of a focus and imo really is distracting and takes you out of the immersion on your second and beyond rewatch lol but the first time and at the time of release the animation was pretty peak so it was tolerable but again full metal brotherhood has the perfect recipe imo. Ohkubo’s writing and character dialogue is what really detracts from his work imo
David Productions also did the Urusei Yatsura remake; that was quality. I dropped Fire Force after six(?) episodes. I found it too boring; didn't make it to the good stuff. Then again, most shonens take time to grow on me. I'll have to give Fire Force another chance by the time season 3 comes out.
Ohkubo needs someone to reign in the writing just a little bit.the character interactions even in soul eater can be verrrry tedious/ annoying at times and don’t get me started on how the actual dialogue smh
i really like the show but i still think takmaki is kind of a problem when everyone is fighting like she doesn't need to stripped down to when other people are fighting like its fine if she wants to be weak and a damsel in distress but in the middle of shinra's fight with the one guy in the factory half way thought the fight he shouldn't be flying into takmaki kissing her thats my only problem
I was about the Soul Eater manga as it came out, loved the aesthetic. The anime. Idk what it was about it for me. Too bright, and the English Dub was not it for me.
Fire force was one of the first animes i genuinely enjoyed, i fell in love with shinras character so quikcly compared to other characters like tanjiro, or ichigo, he is one of those characters you can really relate to because of him just being really dumb sometimes, and then being able to just lock in when it calls for it
Fire force I dropped due to fan service imma be real the fan service felt like it was made in the early 2000's to 2010's and it's a troupe I personally don't enjoy as it feels they just want to keep people watching/reading because "Funny boobies" to me fan service feels like you don't have enough material or gags to keep people engaged enough so you have to resort to the oldest page in the book to keep people engaged and I just personally can't be bothered to watch or read it then. I think it's a cool story and what not but fan service heavily dragged it down for me

Nah, man: Tamaki's gag is the only bad thing about this series. It's one thing to pull sex appeal for a gag, and it's another to do it excessively to the point it can ruin serious or impactful moments. Tamaki's gag is INTRUSIVE and ANNOYING a lot of times. That's mainly why people dislike it so much.
One thing I hate about fire force, other than tamaki, is the fact that people glaze that dumbstep sound effect like it’s the best sound ever. It’s not. It’s literally just a dubstep drop. The most basic thing.
