I loved the replay gushing over Caleb showing AVG being held by the neck the whole play. No mention of it, no flag. Story of the game. These teams have learned to just hold or interfere with Jets most plays and they will only call one or two of them a game.
Vikings need to keep Nick Mullens as QB2 for next season. He is not exciting nor do we really think he can be "fixed" like Darnold but at the end of the day he knows the offense, isnt afraid to sling it and can read the field fast(maybe even faster than Sam). Please no Daniel Jones.
Once again, they miss a TD opportunity, and the result was a game that was closer than it should've been. That said, pulling out the victory on the road against a division rival that IS better than their record, even after the horrible bad luck on that on-side kick, is a sign of a truly tough team--and a playoff contender. Nice work Vikings!
Officiating was awful as usual. The bears were holding almost every play. Three times they were offsides and they didn’t call it. And an unnecessary roughness call they missed where Powell was clearly hit out of bounds. Also a couple times the bears should have been called for delay of game the clock was at zero and the ball wasn’t snapped. The Vikings didn’t play the best today but the refs definitely didn’t help either.
YES! Also in the 4th the Bears were able to snap the ball with 22 seconds left and the clock, run a play, score a touchdown, and magically there was still 22 seconds on the clock! I wonder how they were able to have 3 seconds left at the end for the field goal that tied the game? 🤔🤦🏻♂️
The failure to call the late hit was effing ridiculous. Also at least two late hits on Darnold went uncalled, but what else is new. (Tbf, Williams got hit late a couple of times too with no call. NFL refs need to be professionalized.)
@@m.iramiles9310 I thought the late hit on Powell was a borderline call, but I've seen basically the same situation flagged many times, so I'm inclined to agree.
The Vikings 👀 👀 👀 avoided getting their feet stuck in a trap game. Yet, they should have won in regulation time by 14. The opening drive was a pace setter, but the fumble killed any chance to put this game away early. 🎉😮❤😊
Yes...my feeling exactly. They should have won by 2 TDs. I mean, how many red zone TOs have we had this year? It feels like about 19 or so. Jesus H. Christ on a stick.
Aaron Jones told Mike Florio today thst the Vikings hear and see things. They knew Florio picked Chicago to win. Glad Aaron called him out. Still think Darnold took unnecessary sack.
I'm happy that Darnold has been taking care of the ball in the last couple of games. But he's still holding on the ball too long and almost threw a pick when he again forced a throw to JJ.
Great list Andy,. Just three thoughts... (a) Your only omission for the list? The iDL, for having ZERO quick interior pressureson Caleb Williams. He had a clean pocket for nearly the entire game....and as we saw, even a rookie can have a great day without any pressure on him! (b) BTW, Andrew Van Ginkel was 'spying' on Williams, but even AVG could not prevent some of Williams runs & throws from outside the pocket. (c) Regarding the 4th & 1 call from KOC (who called a great game today IMHO), I agree 100% that going with an empty backfield was not very smart...it removed the guesswork that the defence would have had to do, it allowed the LBs & DBs to be free to clog up the space behind their DL, plus the Bears seemed to read the play right away (they did some good film study)....BUT...at that point in the game, I seriously doubt that our under-manned, under-sized O-line would have cleared a big lane for a RB...so play action would have been the best call. Once we got to OT, it appeared that the Bears DL had shot its bolt & stopped physically dominating our mediocre OL, and so KOC called some runs & short passes that were effective.
This is a good team. Unfortunately, it's got a problem. They are mistake prone and have a very bad habit of losing focus once they have a lead. You can get away with that during the season against mediocre and bad teams. You don't in the playoffs.
Question; if they win out and beat the Lions do they win the division if both the Vikes and Lions are each 15-2 and each have a 1-1 record against each other? I assume so.
No, I had to look this up. We would lose the fourth tie breaker. 1: head to head, 2: division win percentage, 3: Common opponent win percentage, 4: Conference win percentage… we lost to the Rams, they lost to the Chiefs.
Cmon please send BP to the bench! To small to slow and can’t separate. Trent has been playing well in crucial situations. He is bigger stronger and faster and plays way more physical!
We took Darnold off of the trash heap, and while he hasn't been perfect, he's been pretty darn good. In my opinion, we should sign Jones for the same reason. Jones has been playing with awful teams. Give him an offence with targets like JJ, Hock, Addison, Oliver, etc., and I think he could be great, and definitely a nice guy to have as a backup.
To wash the stench of "frauds" off.... unfortunately we will have to win a playoff game or two (unlike 2022) Until then that's how sports folks will look at us
We have got to get a better rotation to see if these other guys can play. Mix in some Theo Jackson Moreau Ty chandler . Need more team Speed ! Secondary is way too slow
This game proved one thing: Even the lowly Bears organization cannot completely ruin Caleb Williams. He's going to be a top-shelf quarterback in this league. Vikings were lucky to catch him before he starts eating defenses alive. He almost did it to B-Flo's D.
At our best I agree but the offense stalling out at times is a worry as well as our old secondary that always seems to get gashed if the pass rush can't get home.
@@craigdragseth9272 Did we watch the same game? numerous, and I mean numerous holds on both the O line and holding our receivers, the obvious horrible call for the block in the back, and on the same play a missed very late hit out of bounds, hands to the face that were obvious, especially on the bears last TD drive. The hold on AVG when he had a for sure sack that they showed a slow motion replay of was just one of many. Oh and a nice delay of game that wasn't called on the same drive. I could go all day.

Last year Justin Fields literally could complete a pass more than 5 yds until the end when Flores went to prevent with 3 man rush and suddenly Fields completing passes down field for 1 td and victory. Year later 11 point lead Flores thinks they can't possibly score a td get a 2pt conversion, recover onside kick get in fg range make fg and than win coin toss to give themselves a chance to win. Saved a TD.
The T.V broadcast team gushing over the bears and Caleb Williams never once talked about how good the Vikings are
After the V's first TD, they show the B's scoring drive. WTF?
They wanted the Bears to win that game so badly. Disgusting to watch.
