I've seen this in a few other videos on other channels too. I am starting to suspect that it's some automated RUclips BS censoring, as they don't even acknowledge it in the videos.
Video was released yesterday, these blurs are applied after the video is published from the youtube editor. I assume they werent blurred yesterday and someone said to Ed that these photos shouldnt be on the video after all. Interested to know what they showed
Privacy blurring, protect the identities of people in the photo or protect the location involved. Kinda a big thing in EU & Japan to blur out any people in pictures you take if they're passing through the background or you can't get permission from the person to include them in the image uncensored. Similar thing to protect information about locations where things are so thieves can't easily find and steal it, if you're not the owner of that location (hint: Turn Off Geo-Tagging On Your Phone When Taking Pictures).

I worked with Weigart for nearly a year. We were working on a new one. The W8 has an Oldsmobile transmission case and GM turn signal control, but all the important parts were made aircraft spec. The weight reduction should have been improved. The new Vector was going to eventually use the MYT engine made by another friend of mine, Raphial Morgado. I'd like to see it in the old W8

I got tired of listening to the BS'ing about it about 2 minutes in, skipped forward repeatedly hearing the same long drawn out story, this video could have been 4 minutes long and still bored me to death. I struggle to understand why people who don't know, respect, or even seem to understand Japanese culture try to insert themselves into this sort of stuff expecting a western experience with cars coming from Japan. 99% of the time you will be treated like trash by them if you aren't invested in being cordial and kind to their traditions and attitudes. I have absolutely no reason to want a JDM car, so, I stay far away from trying to visit or even buy from that island chain in the first place. Much respect for them, but, not worth the effort just to get called the equal to the N word for stepping foot on their volcanic soil. Same goes for them here, stay out, we're full, keep your fruit loop tuner cars home or screw with the kangaroo fools or the spot of tea slurping dental hygiene avoiders.

The image at 7:41 is not the same car. This is car 15 owned by @VectorW8015. The car the video is about is the ex Michael Lajtay car taken to Japan after Michael restored the vehicle. The car in the video is car 08. Key differences: Pearl orange flake in 08, and pearl blue flake in 15. Mirror air intakes in 15 and none in 08.
Let's find the only yellow Vector W8 of my uncle, this car used to be in California 15 years ago. Now i don't know where is it, i heard some people said it located in Asia and don't have more info. I hope the new owner keep it and maintain and drive it like my uncle did.
I feel like there was a lot of rambling about unimportant info in this story. I appreciate detail but his quick pivoting into something else then pivoting back made some things hard to follow at times. Perhaps it was his accent that made it more difficult because I couldn't detect verbal ques as easily. I don't know. Nice story over all just a little weird trying to keep up with it.

The Vector was my Dream Car when it came out my Sr. Year of high school. Especially because it was chevy powered. Glad to hear this story, and know that its existence is being recognized.
I was fortunate enough to ride in one of the original Vectors. I was a stockbroker working for the company that brought them public. That would have been the spring of 1988.
I lost $4k on Vector Aeromotive in the 90s. I bought and exercised options in the 80s when there were only prototypes. The right car at the wrong time, run by a genius engineer, but really bad businessman. One of his biggest asset is also his worst liability... he's a perfectionist.

After the long winded story imho, one question comes to mind or rather 2 /3😂. How much was the car bought, how much did you make- commission etc. And how much did the new owner spend to get it fixed by the specialist ?
you know the story right? since of his fame/stardom, he wanted the car before it was complete so Vector let him have it but told him not to drive it for X amount of time (maybe a few days) cause the cooling system wasn't totally ready for the car, he takes a joyride at night and the car over heats and has problems and then he blames Vector for the car being shit. Saw one in a McDonald's parkinglot, in North Dakota 😂 when I was a kid. It was black, the owner let me sit in it and that dash was amazing.
