It's not saving the planet. That, IMO, BS. It's showing people how to be unprofitably 'employed', an to never meaningfully contribute to society or the economy.
Correction brass is $3.55lb. Final tear down: (brass 10oz x $3.55lb =$3.22) + 40% appliance wire (6.02lbs. x $2.00lb = $12.25) plus some tin and other little pieces.
Awesome video, lots of great info. Take care and stay safe. I will see you on the next video. I have started a RUclips channel here in Georgia. Our prices on some of the scrap is a lot less than everyone else.
What are your thoughts on scrapping electric motors with aluminum wire? I have an ever growing pile from washers and dryers. Is it better to take it apart or just sell as electric? motors
If you stripped the wire you do lose a lot of weight from the coating, but if I was to guess the stripped copper in all those wires would probably be about 1.5 lbs (I’m guessing) $8 worth #2 copper. That is why I don’t strip appliance wire.
Glad you are making these videos, and there is great info here, but it's really annoying when you do the actual work in front of your body and we're looking at the back of your arm or shoulder. Why not put the camera on the other side of the workbench so you don't have to keep turning around, making us all dizzy. Plus then we can actually see what you are doing. Do you ever watch your videos?
Don't film from behind you or speak to the wall. It's harder to hear you & your arm covers what you're doing. I watch your videos late at night. The hammering is very loud & I always have to turn the volume down so it doesn't wake my family up & then turn it back up in order to hear you.
The only people making money from this foolishness is the people making the RUclips videos. The rest... in my observation... make enough for their beer, drugs, and a loaf of white bread. Never mind the nonsense... if you haven't done it. They all will tell you they make hundreds of dollars a day, and their driving a beat up, rusting, F150... and covered in grease.
People scrap and recycle for a number of reasons. Sure if you do it on a large enough scale you can make some money. It’s interesting to learn how things work. That’s what my 4 year old grandson likes. It’s time with him that he learns about tools, metals, computer boards and what the chips and components do. He even use his math and reading skills. Oh and I drive a beat up truck. Again I don’t like things wasted, and tossed away. I also don’t have a car payment during retirement. Another reason is if I had a new truck I’d worry about denting and scratching it with scrap. But your description of buying drugs is truly ignorant. Your uppity, childish side is showing.
I actually agree that far, far too many people look at scraping as a primary income source rather than a secondary and they end up working really damn hard to make $600 a week. I wish more youtube scrappers would encourage people to do literally anything else first and only scrap for supplementary income but that would be fairly hypocritical for most of them. There are some good days but just not enough consistency in income flow. Me, I do it just because I like it. It's not even about the money I just really like disassembling things and sorting them.
Not everything is solely about the money. It keeps things out of the landfills where it will never decay in your, or generations of your family's lifetime. It's a learning experience as well, when taking things apart & seeing how they're put together. The cash makes the hobby an added bonus
Love your dedication to saving the planet. Watch your videos regularly. Thankyou

What are your thoughts on scrapping electric motors with aluminum wire? I have an ever growing pile from washers and dryers. Is it better to take it apart or just sell as electric? motors
Unfortunfortunately the aluminum is a lot lighter, so in my opinion, I just sell them intact as motor weight price.
Apx how much would you get for all that after you strip it

I found some stove wires with the multi prong on it. Is the prong salvageable and how to remove that black plastic for it?
I actually have a video on stripping oven chords and if they are worth it, which they are.
Called scrapping brass prongs for the brass is it worth it? Some tips and tricks.

Even if the vacuum motor is aluminum I sell them as electric motors.
Yup, that is another reason why I don’t understand why some people pass them up.
My yard says nope, average aluminum vacume motors go in the shred.
If in the world of scrap copper is gold, brass is silver, what metal is bronze?
I would say aluminum (extrusion)
Maybe Red Brass.😊
@@paulcoenen7918 Good one
TAKES TOO LONG!
Depends on the scrapper. Thanks for the comment.

Thanks for the tip.
It good that listening to U. I reached out to a reseller RUclipsr about his volume. Coming up with ideas I can do. In the end I just unsubscribed.
Power bars are a food item. You mean power strips.
A striptease by your dominatrix?
You mean extension box.
Nope, in Canada we call them power bars or power strips. Both are standard here. The more you know...

People like you should keep their mouths shut .your comment is as worthless as you are..
