If our works are worthy (right motives) and are made of non perishable materials, they will survive the fire and we will receive rewards based on them. If our works are made of perishable materials like wood, hay and straw then they will be burnt up and we will receive no reward for them. There is no personal reward for wrong motives even if good is done.

If you are a Christian, a born again believer in Christ, and you see opposition or resistance in your heart to Tithe and Offerings to God, then I can safely say that your heart does not belong to God, at least not fully. If you are not willing to sacrifice (commit) your pocket to God, through your local church, then you need a very serious examination of your heart and intentions. Multiplication is not in the Bible when it comes to giving "the seed" in money. Bevere was fine in his early days of ministry. Once it grew, I lost him.

The bottom line is vet everyone before giving them your money. Trust but verify. The ministries I give to have been vetted and are trusted. If I don't trust them or the Holy Spirit nudges me NOT to give, then I obey God. Simple.

The 'pastor' at a 'church' we used to attend in Happy Valley, Oregon pushed John Maxwell doctrine into his sermons then let everyone know they could sign up for John Maxwell courses that he lead in his free time. His wife did the same for a while. The wife later hawked weight lose MLM classes. Eventually they bailed and moved to Mexico. Now they are back in the States 'preaching' again. Not much Gospel preaching was ever presented.

That is one of the most twisted and corrupt sayings I've ever heard. Paul says that ALL our works will be tested through fire. If our works are worthy (right motives) and are made of non perishable materials, they will survive the fire and we will receive rewards based on them. If our works are made of perishable materials like wood, hay and straw then they will be burnt up and we will receive no reward for them.
This is truly appalling and disgusting that John Bevere twists the scriptures to suit his own purposes. Everything in the kingdom of God has to have right motives. There is no personal reward for wrong motives even if good is done.

None of these wolves and even so called solid Bible teachers never seem to mention 2 Cor 8:13 that your giving ought not to burden you. Only sacrificial giving is always spoken of.
If you are a Christian, a born again believer in Christ, and you see opposition or resistance in your heart to Tithe and Offerings to God, then I can safely say that your heart does not belong to God, at least not fully. If you are not willing to sacrifice (commit) your pocket to God, through your local church, then you need a very serious examination of your heart and intentions.
You might argue, but the pastors do wrong with the money bla bla bla bla. Do not play judge over someone else's affairs. The only thing you can control is your own life. Beyond this, it is called witchcraft.
If the pastor does wrong, he has a Boss who sees everything.
If you want sanctification in your own personal life, commit your pocket with Tithes and Offerings, and you will see how closer you are going to be with God.
