40 years a collector. 20 years NAWCC member and I sold my trite Rolexes and jumped on the train ten years ago. Never looked back! I do NOT still wish to have one. Would not be caught dead with one on my wrist.
Rolex AD's can sell to whoever they want, but they cannot fight the marketplace. I have purchased available brands like H. Moser, Tudor, and Omega that are available. If Rolex does become available again, I may consider buying the brand. Although, I have discovered that the grey market has trusted dealers that are a pleasure to do business with, so I may not be buying from an AD.
just a single year of ensuring each ad/boutique gets 10-15 popular steel models (sub/gmt/daytona) , and temporarily stop production for datejusts and etc., as well as not introducing any new models in the time being The hub and frenze will cease, grey market (for rolex) will readjust significantly. No one will complain (or at least complain enough to make a difference, not as if we havent been waiting anyway). problem solved (for the time being). once its not as "rare/hard to get", and once the majority that really wants those models have acquired their watches, the draught will stabilize somewhat.
I love watches but I was never interested in Rolex... Until one day... I decided to walked in at the local Rolex AD and there he was in the catalog. It had exactly the design queues and looks I wanted from it... Fabulous watch. ASAP I asked my AD to notify me when it is back in stock and he gave me his word, in Rawleks slang it means: he added me to the... list. I was happy. I then walked out and the following month I bought it online for under retail, brand new with stickers. And now, when I look at it... Well, I still like my black Tudor Pelagos 42.
If I look at various platforms like Facebook groups, where brand new Rolexes are offered almost at the same day they were purchased for double or even triple MSRP, I get really angry at ADs who seem to fuel this kind of business. Especially when the sellers even offer a hand over in the office rooms of their ADs. It is absolutely no rocket science to find out, who amongst the ADs is playing such games. While I do not know how intensively Rolex is monitoring some of the most popular "flipping" platforms if at all, I think they should do it in a very consequent way and sort out ADs who support these flippers. This scene is not overly big. Even at this level of demand, Rolex is and never was a watch for everyone. I do wear my watches regardless of their current market value, be it a Daytona or a sub, all bought for regular prices. As a fan I have absolutely no understanding for flippers. And even the mostly used argument saying "this is a free market" and stuff like this, is simply wrong, because the distribution process is deeply flawed and therefore not fair.
Im a huge fan of the brand and a collector. The AD I deal with is the best. In my opinion flippers are the problem, some people are just looking to make a buck.
I believe there are two categories...one the people that love watches, have the money, but cannot get the Rolex they really want 😡☹. The second one is just because like to hate....I mean if you don't like something, stop the whining and move on, but haters always will hate 🤷♂️🤣.
A newbie 1920 workhorse without see through case back & short on heritage. Pure grand ads via sports events like Wimbledon, F1, to hype the brand. Rather go for Omega, Longines & Jaeger LC or even Zenith. But for big chunky timepiece, Breitling Avenger Seawolf, Superocean automatics & a Quartz Colt be my must haves, not to mention the White birch by Grand Seiko in spring drive mode....excellentte
Ahhh not really. Real high end pieces don't have the douchebag image that comes with it. Rolex is mid range luxury with an oversized ego nowadays that's why it's embarrassing in certain circles to be seen wearing one... Only vintage ones get that appreciated nod of respect.
Rolex needs to open their own boutiques. Period. Also this channel wants Rolex to flood the market with product. They never show hate to PP or AP, just Rolex. Pure Rolex hate propaganda.
I love watching this kind of content, hoping i could have this one someday but fgor the meantime im fine and satisfied by just watching. Thanks for sharing this to us.
Lol hate is a strong word. Rolex is okay. If they ever sort out their grey market and constrained supply issues, I’ll consider buying from them again. If not, no big deal. I’m quite happy with my JLC’s, IWC’s, Blancpain, Omega, etc. And if I wanted to spend grey market money, there’s better brands than Rolex to spend it on-PP/AP/VC and AL&S.
I just think they look cheap and boring. I know the movement is top notch and it's one of the most successful brand in the world, but I buy watches for the face, and they have the weakest face design in the watch market. I would rather wear a Seiko.
Don’t really agree with what you saying about hatred for Rolex. Yes, there are grumbles from collectors of the kind of obstacles they faced in getting an allocation but these are just normal grumbles that doesn’t represent the views of the larger community and they come and go really fast. At end of the day, the interest in Rolex watches never declined. ADs are getting more enquiries on how to build profile for Rolex in the last 1 year or so and I don’t get the statement that Rolex is being hated. I can conclude ADs are getting more businesses now for Rolex as I got this information from the one I’m with. It seems to me the one with hatred against Rolex is not the watch collectors but rather is the people behind this channel. Just months ago noticed you had another video slamming Rolex as them losing the plot. It’s frankly, ridiculous and one of the main reasons why I was tempted to subscribe to your channel but eventually decided against it.
Rolex prices will not crash, as Rolex has the same value as the gold. Dollar's value will crush for sure. So if you have bucks better invest it in buying Rolex or gold.
Buying at retail is very possible. However, it’s takes time and it is important to build a relationship with your AD. To do so, buy several watches per year, to include other brands that are not Rolex. I typically get 1-2 Rolexes per year at best. Some years it has been 0. However, I’ve been able to buy all my pieces at retail. In some cases,I have waited several years. For example, the blue Skydweller and panda Daytona took me a while. Recently picked up a Lefty, but only after buying several watches, one of which with a AP ROO in rose. I also like to buy Panerai, IWC, and Cartier for the wife.

The ADs are so arrogant and treat their genuine customers like idiots .
I had no idea that Rolex is now not as popular as it was before. I can't say I'm surprised by this turn of events though
You need to ask why genuine high end watches are not frowned upon compared to mid luxury Rolex.
Remember the opposite of Love is not hate… it’s indifference.
Great tutorial video and very helpful information about Rolex authorized dealers, thank you for sharing this video with us.

I got frustrated and nearly bought something else until I eventually bought my first from the AD. Do I want another Rolex? Of course.
Nope not for me anymore. 🙂

Nobody hates Rolex... it is a love-hate relationship.

Just not worth that much, just to know what time it is.

Can't blame them. Rolex is soo good yet soo expensive. Hahaha

since the root cause of the hate is not Rolex, they're benefiting from the negative buzz.

Best and useful content with well presentation regarding ROLEX and thanks for this presentation
Great video to know about the Rolex watch market. I really enjoyed it thanks.
This is the genuine and detailed videoexplanation about ROLEX which gave me lots of information.
Rolex AD’s have destroyed the Rolex market.
I just think they look cheap and boring. I know the movement is top notch and it's one of the most successful brand in the world, but I buy watches for the face, and they have the weakest face design in the watch market. I would rather wear a Seiko.

Illegally sourced lol?
All my doubts about their are some groups or people is hated Rolex is all now cleared with this very detailed video about this famous watch brand.
Rolex is a screwed up company. There are better watches beside Rolex .
Remind: Rolex is not for everybody. I’m proud of this brand because they protect their REAL clients and VALUE 👏👍 😊
