I just purchased a brand new 2023 rt limited model. I had a Ryker for about three years and the spyder is most definitely the most comfortable motorcycle I have ever owned. I have watched your videos from the beginning when you first purchased yours, and you have convinced me to buy one and I do not regret my decision at all.
Good comparison video! And good comments from other riders. It basically comes down to personal preference, what you need versus what you want and what is your style of riding. To me, there are no wrong choices whether it's the color, the options or the accessories added after. The Spyder is simply a great touring machine. Cheers Chris
Hi Chris. New to your channel. I live in Cleveland OH. I bought my first Spyder in May of 2023 at Bob Weaver Sports in North Tonawanda NY. A white 2019 RT Limited. In July of this year, (2024) I sold that bike and purchased the 2024 Sea to Sky.! its just an amazing machine. The seat is definitely more comfortable however that is not the reason I bought the sea to sky. I’m turning 60 this year, and wanted to start fresh with the top model. I just love the color pattern, heated seat feature, driver backrest etc. Had it not been for the white color, I would probably not have spent the extra money. I would have purchased the RT Limited. But - saying I own a sea to sky has a nice ring to it. ! Thanks and safe riding !
I spent a couple of hours on a 2023 Sea to Sky through the Can-Am Experience. The leader thought for sure with some of my physical disabilities that the Sea to Sky seat was a must have. I convinced her I truly needed to try the RT Limited and did so between the Experience runs. That 15 minute ride sold me on the RT seat which totally surprised her and the dealer. Sometimes just Sometimes firmer is just better. 2300+ miles later and it still feels that way to me.
Thanks for the comparison video. I did sit on a sea to sky when I was purchasing my spyder but like you I couldn't justify the difference so I went with the RT limited.
My first upgrade on the seat was adding a Show Chrome Grande seat back. My comfort improved greatly on my 2021 RT Limited. I followed that up with an Alaskan Leather Sheepskin short pile seat pad and the swamp ass syndrome was completely gone. I would like to add a gel seat insert under the factory seat cover for my ultimate comfort. On a shorter rider such as my wife at 5’5” her seat back fully extended forward was a little too shy for her. I removed the seat back cushion and shimmed it out another half inch and now it’s perfect for her. These adjustments to both of our RT Limiteds were tremendously more effective and so much less expensive than a standard Sea to Sky upgrade for just one of our two bikes. I would never recommend spending the extra $3000 for the Sea to Sky model as most of it is badging, wheel design, a slight seat modification and color. Everything also is the exact same. One of our favorite upgrades to our riding pleasure would be the addition of a Cardo Packtalk Edge installation to our helmets. The ability to communicate with each other while riding totally changed our riding experience.
This is a great video for those of us that maybe buying a spyder in the near future , thankyou sir for this content , i wonder if Brian goes back to Texas and trades his Gold Wing in for a Spyder , safe travels Brian and Brandie
I have a 2023 S2S and when we bought ours, we sat on both 2023 Limited and the S2S side by side. S2S hands down for us in the model year 2023. Thanks for the video and the comparison.
I have been looking for a comparison, but just a note to anybody watching, and not trying to be negative, but helpful, jump to 7:00 to avoid the explanation of what this video is about to get to the actual comparison.
I have watched a couple of your videos (including this one). I am still in research mode to acquire a Spyder. I live up here in Spyder country, Canada, and I am looking to upgrade from a Sport Touring bike. So far it has come down to the RT Limited and the Sea to Sky model. Your guests from Texas have provided valuable intel which will go far in my final decision. Much thanks to them and yourself for your insightful and informative comments. Now all I need to do is find a Mid-Seventies gentleman who is selling a low mileage Sea to Sky at an unbeatable price. 😏
My StS was a 21 and the adjustable vents were an option. I had the opportunity to choose between vinyl 92 and 103 so I took the later one. Added the adjustable vents and the lighted floorboards and the adjustable handle bar riser which not sure is even available. The luggage was also included in the 21 and you or they didn’t mention it Good comparison.
Hey Chris, nice video! Ive just fitted my new back rest for my spyder! it's fab! I was starting to get a little back pain, nothing much, but on those longer rides I'm hoping it will help.
Interesting video. If you, as a rider, are going to ride long distance, multi-day trips (And isn’t that what the Can Am Spyder RT Limited, Sea to Sky, and every other bike made for touring are all about), it really comes down to two things: How comfortable is the seat and how good is the wind/weather protection. Of these two items the seat is probably the most personal regarding the preference of the rider For me I found the seat on my 2021 Can Am Spyder RT Limited to be too narrow and too soft and had a custom seat made which was wider and firmer. I also added a taller and wider windscreen, I’m 6’3” and needed the additional height. With these two changes the Spyder went from being a good long distance mileage eater to a great one. This is a bike that is so comfortable that at the end of a 375+ mile day you don’t feel like you’ve been beaten up by the elements.
Another great video, Chris. I am going to buy a Spyder RT Limited but $2K more for the Sea to Sky, I just don't see the value in it for me. I do agree that if it was a used one with the right color. Safe travels.
My wife’s 2023 S2S rides a whole lot better than my 2022 RTL. There’s a big difference in the suspension and how it feels. It’s more than just the seat. The S2S is my dream bike.Ride Safe out there!
I was at the dealer and sat on both of them the Sea to sky seem to have a taller wider seat compared to the RT limited that's it low so that threw the handlebars off for me
I purchased a 2024 RTL in Marsala red could have purchased a 2023 Sea and Sky in dark green for the same or slightly less price seat was more comfortable but I like red and wanted CarPlay
We have a 2023 S2S which comes with 4 adjustable wind deflectors, No luggage came with it . Obviously our S2S has the ultimate seat and never have driven a RT Limited I cannot compare the seats.

The 2024 S2S color is awesome. Enjoy!
Picking up the same one for the same reason
@@eranmaron909 congratulations! I’m sure you’ll love it.
@@SpyderChrisYTsuper excited!
I been waiting for this video and did enjoyed it.
Heard also it is possible to upgrade to the sts seat.
Cheers from Sweden (back again)

It’s interesting that some prefer firmer to softer.
Great info on the seat comparison, and glad you met some new friends! Very cool you all got together during their long trip.
Thanks for the comparison video. I did sit on a sea to sky when I was purchasing my spyder but like you I couldn't justify the difference so I went with the RT limited.
Thanks for watching. It will be interesting if we get comments from Sea to Sky owners with longer time on the seat.

Good comparison.
I have an RT limited and am having the dealer adding the upgraded seat this Tuesday.
Good luck! I hope it improves your ride.

Good luck during the purchase process and ride safe when you get your Spyder.
Interested in the camera set up and the mic that you use when you ride
I use a GoPro 10, mounted with a ChinMount, and a Purple Panda mic input into a MediaMod accessory for the GoPro.

I had no idea there was a different suspension system.
From my understanding it has no difference in the suspension.
@ that is my understanding as well.
I was at the dealer and sat on both of them the Sea to sky seem to have a taller wider seat compared to the RT limited that's it low so that threw the handlebars off for me
I would think the differences might be related to the mass of rider. I'm only 145 lbs. on an rtl22
There is definitely a difference between the padding in the seats.
I purchased a 2024 RTL in Marsala red could have purchased a 2023 Sea and Sky in dark green for the same or slightly less price seat was more comfortable but I like red and wanted CarPlay
Congratulations on your new ride!
We have a 2023 S2S which comes with 4 adjustable wind deflectors, No luggage came with it . Obviously our S2S has the ultimate seat and never have driven a RT Limited I cannot compare the seats.
I believe the adjustable wind deflectors may have been optional for earlier S2S models.
@@SpyderChrisYT I guess they installed the wind deflectors instead of providing the luggage?
I guess the real question is $3000 price difference. An aftermarket seat surely doesnt cost that much!
