"A host of prominent conservatives panned former President Donald Trump’s Tuesday night debate performance against Vice President Kamala Harris - with many concluding he started off strongly but lost this composure as the forum went on.
Trump and Harris met face-to-face for the first and perhaps the only time before the November election. The candidates squared off on issues including the economy, immigration, abortion, and foreign policy. There were some interruptions but the candidates both agreed beforehand that their microphone would be turned off when they were not speaking."

@Chuck_Hooks doesn't matter. Your assumption is that Trump will win based on observations. Truth is, people are more energized for kamala, and trump hadn't given people new reasons to vote for him. All he did was remind them why they voted for Biden. On top of that, kamala was coherent, which was the only reason biden poll numbers fell after the debate. In fact, the shoe is now on the other foot. Your only hope is to suppress the vote, and everyone knows you're trying and knows they need to get out and vote to still have a democratic republic going forward. So where does that leave us? Stay home, trump. Enjoy your wealth. Focus on what matters to you. Fluffing your ego and staying out of politics, it's not like you're welcome in the presidency anymore.

No more lockdowns, more employment, crime is lower than it was even than it was mid way through Trump’s presidency, nominal wage growth increased, more small businesses created, manufacturing has gone up, we are net exporters of oil for the first time, prescription prices are capped and Medicare is negotiating drug prices for the first time in a long time, no troops from America fighting in mass combat, and heck we got to see a rare solar eclipse and all kinds of auroras and meteor showers in the sky even.
Okay, obviously that last part was a bit facetious, but it’s pointing out that things have gotten better. Now, we just have to tackle price inflation and immigration. We need to install more oil refineries so gas prices (and stuff transported by gas such as food) can go way down and we need to provide better support to border patrol and see if we can help these struggling countries like Haiti so people don’t feel like they have to flee here.

What terrifies my soul is that yes, these conservatives are disappointed in DTs debate performance, but why are they disappointed? Because he lost. And that's the ONLY reason . I don't think Harris' acknowledging Dick Cheney's endorsement hurts her. It's just a sign of how serious of a problem Donald Trump is that a lifelong Republican and neoconservative like Cheney would go public with his intention to vote for her.
As for Donald Trump, he got clobbered last night, but the guy has more political lives than a cat. The things that would undo a regular candidate's campaign just don't seem to apply to him. If he looks unpresidential, that is considered a feature and not a bug by his supporters. If he lies incessantly, they think he is getting over on the 'lamestream' media. If he dissembles and babbles incoherently, they don't care. All they want for him to do is burn down Washington DC, and on January 6th, he gave it the old college try. He's liable to take a 2nd run at it in January 2025.

This race shouldn’t be close. But neither should you have to pay 100k a year to get a proper education. Too many people uneducated in those states and then you get this insanity. The education system has gone off the rails and everyone is complaining about the symptoms and not the problem.

I’m 81 and was born and raised in Chicago, which makes me a democrat. But I never had trouble voting for a republican if I thought. he/she was the better option. But a lot of times my choice lost, but I didn’t worry about the country being destroyed by a particular president. The people was always what the DC politicians regardless of party would work together to try to help the citizens of the U.S. and not their pockets. I can’t remember which candidate said it but his reply was both parties are in office to help the country be better, they just had different ideas on how to do the job.So even if our choice / choices didn’t win, we still knew the country would still be safe and not under a dictator whether for one day, 4 years or a lifetime.
