Suga was recovering from a shoulder surgery as at that time so he wasn't able to join them. The Suga you see during the life goes on performance is actually a hologram of him. I just love these guys and thanks for the reaction ❤.

Suga filmed his part in a separate room, so they added him as a hologram for the actually performance. This was during the time of his recovery from his shoulder surgery. After being gone for a bit, it was a nice relief for armys to see him, even if for a moment
Also the performance of ON is probably the closest thing to a Super Bowl performance that we’ll get
Everyone looked so good here. Who said Joon and Jin couldn't dance? This is amazing. From Tae showing up in a suit, like a professor joining his students in dance practice lol- to Jimin's baton dance, Kook's undercut and dance skills, Hobi slaying, and my fave are Jin and Joon here eating it! And ofc, Yoongi's hologram is iconic also..
Can I just say Jin nailed the ON dance break? He was able to cohesively cover Yoongi’s part so well!

YASSS!! MAMA 2020 is my absolute favourite performance of Life Goes On ever. The alarm intro, the esthetic, the Suga Hologram,.. Sorely underrated. 💜
that hologram had me sobbing for a good hour 🥹 I really had thought that was him and when I found out it wasn't.. my heart crumbled a little because I missed him, but the fact that he still chose to be there in some other way comforted me 💜💜.
Poor Tae…. The guy who absolutely hates wearing shoes, and usually walks down the backs of all his shoes- they put him in BOOTS THAT ZIP UP TO THE KNEE! But he is a trooper, and will endure anything for the fans.
You are not alone John, even though I knew Suga was going to Hologram in, I still was tearing up before he appeared. I lost it when we first watched this bc we missed Suga so much. We knew it was good that he got the surgery and that he was healing but we still missed seeing him with the guys. Loved your reaction, thank you for always making us feel not alone. Love ya! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Truthfully I kind of avoid the performances without suga. But they are so amazing and I love that they still leave the space for him and let the track sing his part instead of changing things. So much respect 💜 I really love it when their voices sound a little different or they sound out of breath, makes it so obvious they are actually singing live and that’s my favorite thing😊
Me too! I usually skip performance with incomplete member because it feels that something is missing. But watching it with John I realized that this performance is too good to be missed. Our boys crushed every performance no matter what!!
Respectfully, why would you not watch a performance that is missing one of the members? First of all, they always include them somehow, like leaving a space for them. They don’t stop performing when someone is out, so we should continue to watch and support them as well.
We love all of them, not just the one who is out. It’s sad to miss ANY of their performances. 🤗
Did you see when Suga came out of the light... he is virtually there, not really in the flesh. He recorded in a green room.

And, of course, Tae shows up for dance practice in a 2 piece suit and chelsea boots! Yep shoulder surgery for Suga, but he is there in everyone's heart. And they are on artificial turf to make it just a little bit harder to move but you could never tell. Have a great week!
Agree, yes this is definitely one of my favorite songs from the boys. To make it even more purposeful, this song helped me get their the pandemic. Such a beautiful song... what tops it that Suga shows up in a hologram while he was out for so long on the groups activities. So cute how they all just include eachother no matter what... like they say, they are not BTS without the 7 of them...❤💜

Amazing channel. I've always had this androgynous look as guys in K POP, but in my case it was fuel for bullies when I was growing up. I embraced it, used it to my advantage in my acting / modeling career, I was almost the face of Leon in these new Resident Evil games 🙂 To anyone who's ever been a victim of hate / violence because of their appearance, gender, orientation, race : DO NOT ever let a hateful notion 'there's something wrong with me' sink in. Trust me, it's a recipe for self hatred and compulsive anxieties later on. When we suffer and we need a break, it's only natural to think: 'maybe if I wasn't 'different', if I was 'normal' I would be accepted. No, haters will always find something else to prey upon. They're extremely toxic who can see your potential and value but will drag you down with intent and hideus determination, when they notice a slightest sign of insecurity. Remember; There's never anything wrong with you.

Yea...Suga was out due to shoulder surgery. The spot they left for him and the hologram of Suga coming out during Life Goes On had me (and I'm sure many ARMYs) balling my eyes out. 😭💜 BTS comforted so many of us during the pandemic and I'm forever grateful for that. Apo Bangpo 💜 Looking forward to 2025 and beyond with BTS x ARMYs.

Thank you for your reaction, John! I have seen this a few times already and love it so much. I was watching your face when "Life Goes On" started playing because I know how it touches you. The way they portrayed the song's setting, with everything stopped; shows so much empathy and kinship with what people were going through during that time. Don't you just love Holo Suga? He was recovered enough to shoot that bit in his own holo cubicle and you can see how sad he was to be unable to perform in person. And every special performance of On is just so so spectacular - this one with the poignancy of Yoongi's absence. Look forward to more of your reactions - BTS' body of work is so huge that you will probably keep reacting to their many features, performances, series etc until OT7 reunite in 2025!

Hi John, just a little context. The MMA and MAMA are always held in December. And remember, this is 2020, smack in the middle of Covid. So this is not a live performance. Parts (or all of it?) are pre-recorded (someone correct me if I'm wrong), and, as so many have said below, Suga was indeed recovering from shoulder surgery. I do love that his hologram was included in Life Goes On. 💜
BTW, Dynamite came out in August 2020 and the BE album, with Life Goes On, dropped in November.

And that is why they have a stable stamina, wearing mask while dance practising and even Singing while running at treadmill machine...😏👌

This was during Covid shutdown so there was no actual in studio live audience (if i remember correctly) So they were able to use lots of graphics and have also a Suga hologram. They just never disappoint in creativity or in performance! Yep this was few months after dynamite released.
I hadn’t seen this performance either. It’s amazing how you think you have seen them all and then… you haven’t. 😂 It was truly awesome and I got the same reactions as you every time Suga was missing or when his hologram showed up. ❤💜❤️
Hi, I am back. Good reaction, ty. So glad u watching this. They look so good. Love the stages. So cool. It has been so long since i saw these stages together. Dang. ON, was truly epic. A super Bowl worthy performance. They even made the choreo harder as usual. Shoot. Dynamite, was fun. Great fits'. Life Goes On was something unique and beautiful. They always outdo themselves. MMA (Melon Music Awards) and MAMA (Mnet Asian Music Awards) are those big kpop award shows that happen at the end of the year. Usually all artists that perform leave jaw-dropping performances, and BTS is no exception.
In 2016, god that year was so big for them. They won a Daesang that year (A Daesang is like a big award ex. Artist of the Year, Album of the year, etc.). BTS won album of the year, and seeing them cry backstage with the thoughts of “we did it, we made it” makes me cry everytime. They truly deserve all the happiness in the world.
Also notes for other award shows you might watch.
MMA & MAMA 2020 - no crowd, everything is prerecorded due to Covid. Plus, no Suga. He was recovering from his shoulder injury
MMA & MAMA 2021 - BTS didn’t perform that year. They were on a small break to spend the holidays with their families, which they hadn’t really done since debut (they’ve been busy with promotions, these award shows, practice, comebacks, etc.). So don’t be alarmed if you don’t find anything for it, it doesn’t exist. But they did win awards that year!
These performances are so special. BTS have a small habit of making award shows into their concerts lol! I can’t wait for the award shows this year.
Only Tae can do a dance practice in a two piece suit and Chelsea boots!
Everyone reacts to MMA 2020 but not many people react to MAMA 2020. That performance of ON is one of the best.💜

Yes, John the are absolutely good at everything. It is amazing, for their age their immense talent ( hard work). Not sure if you have seen this after watching the Suga avatar ( Suga calls it ) the making of him on stage during Life Goes On. Life goes on help me so much during the pandemic ! I like all the live performances of thi sog. This MAMA's one for this stunning aesthetic, and of course, Suga's apparition as a hologram, it was so heartwarming ! The MMA's one for the voices. But their performance at the MTV Unplugged really showcase their unreal vocals ability and harmonisation ! It's .. heaven.

I think the reason Jimin's voice sounds different is because it's a setting on his mic. There are directional settings that can be set to brighten or 'deaden' the sound. It could have just been set in error. Just my thought.

Although I missed seeing Suga, I love how they always carried something about him in the Run BTS episodes and leave space even in the choreography for any missing member. Loved the holo Yoongi too! Suga has said that it was the choreography and promotion performances for ON and Black Swan that finally did his shoulder in. Have you ever watched the On performance in Grand Central Station? At the end you can see how much that performance took out of them. just a note-marching bands might put spots on the field they practice on in the beginning when learning the formations but they practice a lot too and use the lines on the field and their position from that and each other to line up and find and keep their positions during the performance.
