I know many of you have already purchased this bike on amazon, please leave a comment about your experience with the 1805 below,
It'd help others who are interested in more opinions on this bike and also it'd give me a boost in the YT algorithm.

I ended up buying this one because of your reviews and comparisons. I had also tried out the pro-form bike with the 10" screen which was also more expensive. The pro-form bike was super uncomfortable and the flywheel was warped. This Sunny bike is super comfy, really quiet, and the weight of the wheel often makes it so I don't have to add a ton of resistance to work hard. I upgraded from the Schwinn 170 because there wasn't enough resistance. Overall, I'm really happy with it. One downside is the noise in the seat which came about after only a couple uses but is not bad enough to drive me crazy.

I carefully watched all of your reviews over a period of about a month. I ended up purchasing this bike based on your recommendations and a little bit more research that I did. I wanted a bare bones bike that didn't have a lot of technology to break. I had read about connectivity problems and other things with bikes that had electronics. There are four of us in my family using this bike, with the peloton app and the wahoo sensor. Very happy with this sturdy durable well-built bike. I own other products by Sunny health and fitness as a physical therapist, and I have found their products to general be well designed heavy duty and last.

Thanks!! I purchased my 1805 last night (used your link from this video). I had previously watched your 6-bike head-to-head comparison with Peloton (where you did the SunnyB1002) and had that quick screenshot of your comparison grid across all of those models. I then stumbled into this video (and the one where you compare the B1805 against the Peloton) and it completely convinced me to go with this bike!! You are so thorough, fair and careful in your statements so as not to presume what each viewer may want/need, and do a great job with everything. I've also purchased some Garmin adapters for speed, cadence, and heart rate - which I'll feed to my Garmin Fenix 6X Pro (and Connect). Once I've got everything talking to each other, I'm going to use RUclips bike videos for a bit, then maybe Zwift. As you said, this is a solid "platform" bike, and I'm going to build from this base! Thanks again!!

I've had my 1805 since October and I love it. I ride 3-4 times a week. The bike is super stable. I replaced the pedals with dual sided ones so I can clip in. For my type of riding, I don't particularly need metrics. I use my Fitbit for heart rate and calories. I don't often do Peloton rides because I prefer more rhythm riding. So really all I need is a strong bike and smooth drive train and the 1805 gives me that and more. Always love your videos. Happy riding everyone.

Mine was delivered today, still need to assemble. I purchased it due to your comments regarding "the feel". I own an IC4, recently bought a Peloton, but none of those bikes really "worked" for me. I had nothing but problems with my Peloton, and quite frankly...the Peloton is an awkward fit...I cannot get comfy on it...terrible knee and hip pain...OMG...I've never had such issues with a bike. So here we are...I'm a new owner of an 1805. Can't wait to assemble and test out...it does remind me of the IC4, hoping it fits "near" to the Schwinn. Thanks for all of your reviews!

I did all the things you said with my sunny 1805. Most recently adding the clip in pedals. This bike is great! Also I found with the peloton app the experience is much better with the wahoo ticker heart rate monitor vs my Apple Watch but it still syncs with Apple Heath and shows up on my rings and stats in Apple fitness.

Have had bike since Oct 2020, great quality and value. Installed Favero power meter pedals and use with mPaceline and Peloton apps to do power zone training classes. Also installed a gear shift cable to measure resistance knob turns to make it easier to remember where you are. Periodically the drive train will start making noises at certain cadence and resistance but then goes away so no big issue so far.

I’ve had this bike since early Feb and use it a few times a week w/ added Wahoo cadence. Pretty darn happy with it. I printed out and taped the little conversion chart you made for resistance and it’s easy enough to follow along with the Peloton app. Only a few minor drawbacks (and I mean really minor) thus far: the large decorative stickers on the fly wheel were peeling up out of the box. At first I could just press them back in place, but they’d soon curl up again and start going thp-thp-thp-thp. I finally ripped them off, but a chunk got stuck on the interior side with the belt and it mocks me. There’s no place to put hand weights. I found myself selecting rides that don’t use them anyway, so no big woop there. Final point: Amazon delivery’s fault...the driver chucked the bike over my front gate and ran away, leaving me to get it up some stairs onto my porch alone in pieces because the box was pretty much exploded. It was awkward and heavy to get into the basement, but my husband and I managed it. I would have been thrilled to have that bougie Peloton delivery service after that. Lol. One part of the bike base (for lack of better term) was warped, which is preventing one of the bolts connecting the bike to the rear support bar from seating correctly. That said, this bike is a TANK and none of its flaws affect performance.

Thanks for your thoughtful and informative reviews. I’ve watched many while researching to buy a spin bike. Ultimately I chose the Sunny 1805 and used your link to order today (sale price of $541). I prefer to have a solid bike and add whatever accessories I want, and not be tied to the manufacturer’s screen or exercise platform. It appears the Q factor on this model is 182mm vs Peloton’s 170mm, which isn’t a huge difference. The Sunny flywheel is 44 lbs vs Peloton’s 38 lbs. Thanks again! ~Dawn

Hi Tailhappy, have been researching spin bikes and have narrowed my requirements down to the 1805, IC4 and the Dripex for £200. The sunny is now £374. Will have to buy a speed sensor and possibly a heart rate monitor although my garmin forerunner 35 watch should monitor the heart rate. I already have a cadence monitor to fit to the crank. I’m in Mansfield Road club in England and do about 4 to 6k a year but when the weather is bad no riding can be done, so this will enable me to continue to turn the legs over. My wife also wants a bike so the sunny one is looking the favourite. The only downside is we will have to buy Spd pedals that have toe clips on other side. I will have a look for the Spd attachment before I do however. This will enable the wife to use the straps. The Shwinn ic4 is not bad, but have been put off by the mechanical issues you’ve highlighted ie the pedal and its price. It looks like the metrics on most budget bikes are not very good anyway. I feel that overall the sunny is better value mainly because of the 20kgs flywheel and it’s very quiet and gives a road bike feel. Thanks for the information provided in your videos. Oh yes one more thing the adjustability looks great on the sunny which will be good for the wife as she’s about 5-2. 👍

I do think your numerical rating undersells the strengths of this bike. I bought this bike back at the end of March in large part due to your other reviews/comparisons before you did this full review and I've been super pleased with it for the money. Originally, I was going leaning toward the Scwhinn IC4. This bike was much less money and for just a few bucks, I added a Scosche HRM and Wahoo cadence sensor. I use my phone to run the classes. Really happy with it and with how much less I spent than the Schwinn would've cost me (plus, I got it in 2 days via Amazon Prime). Fascinating review. I've been looking for a magnetic resistance bike that will allow me to work with my Garmin Fenix and Zwift. I need a balance of running and biking to move to the next level... and some of the items you indicated that otherwise look like "shortcomings" are really strengths/opportunities for what I'm trying to do. The "all in one" system bikes have a lot of items outside of my needs (so I'm paying for things I won't use). There are a couple of inexpensive mag resist bikes you've reviewed, but if they have any electronics or software even they feel like they have a bit of vendor lock-in to get that data data. So a bare-bones bike that is really well made but can be adapted with sensors (bluetooth, ANT+, or other) seems to be the best play - and this bike might be it.

I purchased the SF-B1805 and shortly after had a grinding noise due to faulty bearings in the bottom bracket. I was disappointed to learn that there is a legion of Sunny owners out there with the same problem, and the majority of whom are just as frustrated as I am getting Sunny to provide a viable solution. Sunny sent new bearings and the troubleshooting videos were helpful, but the crank puller tool is IMPOSSIBLE to find anywhere in stock or an after-market alternative that actually fits (videos say 24mm but it is actually smaller, like 23.85mm). Sunny sent me an Amazon link for a tool that did not fit, even after I warned them the message boards were saying it didn’t do the job. Trustingly, I went forward and still no luck. Needless to say, I have been going back and forth with Sunny for 7 weeks exhausting every alternative and am about to throw it in the trash and start over with a different brand. I’m slightly over 6’5” and Sunny the obvious choice because of the fit, but I’m not happy at all with their ability to solve a simple but chronic quality issue. I would steer clear until they get their shit together over there. In the meantime, if anyone reading this has the crank puller tool that works for this bike, please let me know.

Am attempting to decide between the SF-B1802 ($569) versus the SF-B1851 (On Sale for $602 from $1000), The difference is that the handle bars only adjust UP and DOWN (2 way adjustment) for the SF-B1851. Please have commented that with only 2 way adjustment, the SF-B1851 is good for people over 5 feet 5 inches. Any thoughts? Want to decide in the next couple of days. Am interested in SF-B1851 because it a great deal.
By the way your videos are extremely well done. Thanks

Hi, have you done a comparison of the Sunny SF-B1877 and the SF-B 1805. I know the flywheel on the sf-B1877 is only 29 lbs vs. the 44 lb on the SF-B 1805. But the SF-B 1877 does have the battery powered monitor and the pulse monitor on the handlebar. I don't care about the lower weight capacity, I'm a woman who's not anywhere near over 260 lbs. Would you be able to do a review of the SF-B 1877? And then compare the SF-B 1877 and SF-B 1805? THANKS, I love your reviews. You are thorough and fun.

Question for you! I purchased this bike and I watched your previous video where you compare this bike to the Peloton bike+. In your conversion chart for the sunny bike is the resistance knob turned all the way to the left so it's 3 full turns to get to say 35 resistance the Peloton app?

What are your thoughts on foldable/folding stationary exercise bikes? I'm tight on space & really like the SF-1805 but thinking of a folding one due to space limitations.

I bought the sunny bike and i really like it. At first i felt I didn’t need all the bells and whistles. Now that i have the bike i do want to know my speed, distance and cadence. Can anyone recommend a good sensor? It looks like i can only attach a cadence sensor and not a speed sensor to this bike. I am wanting something not too expensive and ideally something that has it’s own screen.

I'm really interested in this bike, but am hesitant due to Amazon reviews regarding issues with the crank/clicking pedals. Has anyone experienced this issue?

    • @ronron3847
      @ronron3847 3 года назад +3

@Katherine Middleton I had issues with my first 1805 I got in October. After having it for a couple of weeks, I started hearing a weird clicking noise on the left side. Mind you when I first put the bike together, I had some issues with the left pedal. I ended up exchanging that bike and got a new 1805. I had no issues putting together the 2nd bike. I noticed that everything went together much more smoothly this time. I've been riding the new bike since then without issues and it is a great bike, if you don't need metrics. Sunny did respond to my emails pretty promptly but they recommended some repairs that I wasn't capable of doing. Hope this helps a little. Happy riding.

I just received my bike, but after adjusting the resistance fully the adjustment knob only controls the magnets about half way back, and doesn't go to zero. It will go back if I use my hand, but that means workouts with apps aren't doable. I did try to lube it but no go. Does anyone have an idea on how to fix it? It appears I may have to disassemble the resistance knob. I don't really want to wrestle this thing back to the UPS store to return. Thanks!

I was able to re-align the brackets on each side of the brake block and now have full motion for max and min resistance using the tension knob🙂.

What would you recommend between the Sunny 1805 vs the Schwinn IC4? I'm leaning towards the sunny, but would appreciate your input.

    • @cwheeler42
      @cwheeler42 3 года назад

I went with the Sunny and have been happy for 2 months now. The only advantage the Schwinn has is the integrated sensors with the screen readout. You still have to sync those to an app (like Peloton digital) if you want the metrics in the app. Add the Wahoo cadence sensor and a scosche heart rate monitor and you've got an overall equivalent experience in a cleaner package for less money (IMO).

Hi and thank you for the great video i just purchase this model from your link below at the moment is $436 so my plan is to get all the good stuff and be under $600 using pelaton app and other apps. I was between the ic4 and ex3 but decide to stay in budget to see how it goes. maybe you can do a video on the echelon ex3 and ive it a score..Thanks again from new jersey

Is the resistance to enough for hill climbing? I purchased a sunny SF-B1877 and it’s overall a great bike (sturdy, whisper quiet) but the max resistance feels low for hill climbs. Keep
    Up the fantastic videos!

    • @TraderBLM

Brice, the answer is a resounding YES!
I've owned this bike for 1 year and have done exactly 145 Spin sessions, to date. Intense, Standing climbs are hands down my #1 favorite part of rides.
Note: I've been seriously into fitness, pumping iron & a variety of HiiT cardio for 20+ years... consistently.
Trust me when I tell you -- MAX resistance (approximately 18 quarter-turns) on this bike is Super, SUPER-HEAVY!!! It literally feels like you're stuck in the mud. Good luck trying to hold a cadence of more than (a slow) 30-40 RPMs @ this level!! Heck, even 15 turns....That ALSO feels like being in quicksand.
Bottom line: This Sunny SF-B1805 EASILY has MORE than enough resistance to challenge (and quickly humble!) even the fittest, most powerful riders.

I am going to disagree with your convince score though if you have an app ready to go and set up ready it’s just as convenient! Just a little more set up but once your set up your good.

I concur. Sure, it's not hop on and go, but the wahoo and scosche sensors connect pretty easily to the Peloton app and away you go. Well worth a little set up to save a lot of $$$.

Bought this bike and I think I’m 3 inches too short. Somehow, I’m making it work but the handlebars don’t move back enough and the seat needs like 5 more levels.
    For reference, I’m 5’2”.
