GREAT recovery on that little gold banner by covering it and yet revealing the gold "shadow!" A Versamark pen can work nicely for embossing edges. This card is a lovely design through and through! Blessings!
Wow it's all so striking...I love those embossing folders...they are really fantastic when the paper is so smooth and the colors are blended so beautifully.
I like the intensity of the colors you got. Will have to try the Double-up painting technique. Makes me wish I had a dye cutter for the embossing envelopes. Those are cool.
Love the backgrounds you did. The red/pink/yellow one reminds me of a sunset, and the other looked kind of like a landscape. Great save on the banner. I actually think the black with the gold "shadow" looks better than just a gold banner! :)
I just bought all these new folders, and love them. I like the grid on the one side, don't you? Is there a reason that the grid is on one side, rather than the other? haha I did an envelope today, and just ran the opening portion through the heart die, to match the heart card. I placed the grid side up, and the hearts were indented, not raised as I would have like...haha Just thought I would throw this in for you. Smiles
The best idea to put embosing on the edges,is when you want to cut that circle or any die cut you want, put the Versa Mark on the die cut,and when you cut is already glue on the edges, and now you can emboss very easy...I saw this idea on a video card making...I hope you understand what I want to say :)..I don't know very good English
Wow those embossing folders create gorgeous texture! I just want to touch the cards lol. Or eat them. BC along with the colors they look edible almost. Wow. Adding the stuff in this video to my wishlist :)
I love it and those embossing folder wow I have never seen any that do look like that and I am so going to have to get those b/c they really do a cool design on the card and such a simple idea but yet so amazing and anyone would be happy to get somethin like that. I love it like I love all your ideas and designs. I can't wait to see what else you have coming up. Not sure which one is my fav guess I'll have to wait and see them all before I can pick one if I can ever do that, lol
Do you think if you did the edges first and then did the stamping it would keep the banner words from filling in? Another lovely card idea!! I love the colors.
So beautiful! For weeks I've been obsessed with the first embossing folder you used.... I was under the impression that you needed a machine with an adjustable height though? Looks like it worked great in the big kick :)
+Alex Furey Nope, no adjustable height needed. I find that if you use the sandwich of embossing folder and cardstock as one of the cutting pads, it works lovely. In this case I just omitted the bottom teal cutting pad and put the embossing folder sandwich directly onto my platform, then put just one teal cutting pad on top.
have you ever tried the versamark pen to do the edges of your paper or vellum? if not then it might be a good idea to try.I watched you for a long time now, I am no card maker at all, but love your work, the way you speak and your designs. just wanted to say that. tfs your talent
+CreaBoetiek I've used a VersaMarker before but wasn't too impressed. The ink didn't stay wet long enough to apply the embossing powder. But I haven't tried it for a long time. That was years ago.
+K Werner Design I had the same experience. I thought it would be wonderful, but it didn't stay wet long enough to be good for anything. I'd kill for a good embossing pen.
Just had a eureka moment; maybe a drop or so of VersaMark reinker on the pen tip several minutes before using would make it work like I expected it would.
You make absolutely amazing cards! I'm desperately wanting the Next Level Embossing Folders in the Quilted style but cant seem to find them at all online
love these cards and the way you did the water colour! question, how do you stop the paper from warping so much when you watercolour? i use tape but it still warps really badly
Hi Kristina ~ Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous!!! I absolutely LOVE your water coloring and the non-traditional colors you chose for these Christmas cards. The results are stunning with the WRMK Next Level embossing folders. Outstanding results!! #sharehandmadekindness
I guess as a seasoned RUclipsr, you have developed an industrial strength skin. I can't imagine why anyone would bother to give your excellent, informative, and entertaining videos a "thumbs down" unless they were deliberately trying to hurt someone, like a bully. Makes me want to turn into a enforcer and track them down: legitimate reason, ok - you are free to go; thumbs down to be an a-hole - take away your computer and internet access since you are obviously a toddler that should not have access.
Those colors turned out magnificent. I loved them. And I think the gold embossing with the black banner was a nice touch. Very pretty cards and good job. Are you no longer working for SSS?
What size are the large flat brushes you're using? Is it just a 1 inch? What you're using looks about the size I'd want for a wash brush, I'm just really bad at guessing sizes of things.
hi watched alot youtube card making but never seen how they finish on the inside of a card whether use stamps or put extra glued labels etc.can you do this on one of your videos
May I ask what kind of paper are you using? Apparently. I bought cheap watercolour paper but when I used water colour paints on it, the paper will get wet and be rubbed off. I'm afraid using expensive watercolour would do the same. Please help :(
love all your work never miss a video but did have a ? I saw your video on the next generation of embossing folders from wrmemory keepers next level and I cannot get them so emboss in my big shot any suggestions because I know you used the big shot thanks so much and also thanks for always sharing your art and projects with us hUGS

Oh those backgrounds, just gorgeous!
SO in love with the nontraditional Christmas cards!!! Keep them coming! TFS, Heather
Your watercoloring techniques are so beautiful. Lovely cards.
When I want to emboss detailed stamps, I use the versafine onyx black pad. The difference is huge! I also use detailed powder of course ;-)
Love the backgrounds you did. The red/pink/yellow one reminds me of a sunset, and the other looked kind of like a landscape. Great save on the banner. I actually think the black with the gold "shadow" looks better than just a gold banner! :)
The embossing always looks so pretty on the vellum !! :)
Beautiful cards. Your water coloured backgrounds are always so beautiful! Love these embossing folders.
