Good on #1 for revenge and saving the kitty! But just for the readers/listeners- indoor only cats can also get fleas. Please keep all of your babies up to date on their prevention!
Fleas can ride on mice which can get into houses even if you don't see them and the cat isn't hunting them. The flea eggs can also linger during dry periods and hatch a new batch long after the fact. All it takes is warm, humid weather and the eggs hatch.
@@LatitudeSky exactly! I've had clients tell me they live in a gated community so they can't get fleas or that their pet only stays inside the house. Fleas can walk through doors just as well as any other bug!

my guess is that karen had some sort of friend in the government that oversaw medical stuff so she got the attitude of "nothing you can do to me" because it sounds like it wasn't the first time that karen did something but was protected at least until this time when it involved patients seeing the problem that karen refused to take care of and it would have exposed her and her government connections.
S1 glad Mr kitty got a much needed upgrade in cat slave. His previous one was sadly lacking S2. Many many years ago, I worked in a country hospital. The local feral cat colony lived there, they were the unofficial rodent control. They were unbelievably effective. And very people friendly, they were often found on our beds in the quarters.

1st story: I, too am a cat lover as I had 2 of them & loved them both! One was a black one (12 yrs--outdoor type) & the other was a salt & pepper tabby (16 yrs) with white paws & was a homebody. I miss them both! 😢
I feel you on your loss. My first cat(the one I actually went to get and picked out as an 8wk old) was a calico and I had her 13 years and the 2nd cat found us one day walking down our street when my husband felt something around his ankle and looked down and saw this tiny kitten that was nothing but fur covered bones, it must've been abandoned by its mother bc it was barely weening age. He took him home and he ate for what seemed like 3 days straight. He grew into one of the biggest and sturdiest cat of ever seen and we lost him at about 14 years old. It really killed me losing both of them.
I miss my childhood pets as well. Two black Burmese cats with one seeing me as her favourite. One died from a snake bite and the other was a casualty of Cyclone Ului.
Having worked in a major hospital on the east coast, I can tell you with 100% certainty that hospitals are some of the nastiest, most disgusting places you can possibly go. There are areas that are remarkably clean, but overall, let's just say it's best if you don't touch ANYTHING that you don't have to.
My cat Abigail turned up at the back door. She waltzed right up to my labs like she already knew them when I brought her in. Tried to locate where she came from, but obviously that didn't pan out.
10:51 around 2008 my brother at just 16yrs old got a job at a skate shop. He’s been a skater since he was old enough to stand on a board, so he did have some trespassing run ins, but no other incidents w/law enforcement otherwise. His manager & friends came up w/a scram to have the store “robbed”, the manager left the back door open when he closed, but changed the timecards to look like my brother closed. Making this my brothers fault, even saying HE & his friends planned this. Well my brother had been trespassed (again) for skateboarding w/his friends in the parking lot of the grocery store parking lot when he was supposedly working. Dude went to jail for a couple years, they had stolen thousands of dollars in boards & clothing, all found at the managers house. My brother got a bonus & went to work for the competitors shop across the street, brings many clients w/him, since he knew his $hit so well. The shop closed less than 6 months later.
Cats really know how to find the right people. When I rented one of the apartments in a triplex our downstairs neighbors, a teen girl living with her dad, had a cat. The teen actually took great care of her, but when she went off to college, the cat spent most of its time outside. She wasn't starving but wasn't really getting any affection either. Whenever I came home from work I woild stop to pet her for a while. That agitated her at first but she didn't run away, and eventually she figured out I was a good person and grew to love me. From then on, whenever we opened the door she tried to come in. We finally gave in and adopted her, and she was the best cat ever, even at 10 years old. Heard no objections from the dad downstairs. We took her with us when we moved away, and she lived the last 7 years of her life very well with us.
Unfortunately, hospitals are not very clean. When my old roommate was hospitalized (and he passed away), the room was not regularly swept or kept particularly clean. All visitors had to sanitize their hands, however. His family cleaned the room. Recently another friend of mine's mother was in the hospital (a different one than my old roommate), same thing.
Hospitals are actually pretty dirty. It's very difficult to get rid of all the bacteria and that's why you can still get infections from hospitals and particularly nasty ones. They are also usually resistant to drugs and treatments when you do get them from hospitals.

On the carpet change thing, it's pretty common to replace the carpet when a pet owner moves out before renting the place out again. Hell, in my city it's required for apartments.
Karen in the last story putting the ex on the house deed to cheat on the taxes reminded me of a story. Back in the stone age, if adult children were in need, the State could come after the parents to support them. my Mom's long-term BF transferred his assets to his business partner to avoid this. When his kids were back on their feet, he asked his business partner to transfer the assets back. The business partner laughed and laughed and laughed. Cheaters never prosper.

One of our largest and well thought of pharmacies decided to handle groceries also. I was in their small office at the back to have a shot and noticed a mouse run by ( we don’t have rats in my province). I was surprised and told the pharmacist. They’d been trying to trap him. Not a good look for a pharmacy, even worse rats in a hospital -yech!
I live in the country. My closest neighbor has a bunch of barn cats. They live outdoors and she feeds them a pretty huge portion of food twice daily. The cats aren't fixed though, so they keep having kittens. Well, two of the grown male cats got in a fight and the one that lost migrated to our house. It wasn't a huge deal since we already had outside cats, so we just fed him when we fed our other cats. About a year ago, a little kitten followed the neighbors cat over to our house and decided to stick around. Since then, 4 more kittens and a grown female cat (which is probably pregnant) have also moved over. We adopted one of the kittens, and gave another to a family member (with the neighbor's approval). The earliest kitten disappeared (which was a shame because he was really very nice). Two of the kittens are very shy and now won't come near us. They are likely fully feral. The female cat is quite friendly to humans though, but she is not nice to our other cats. We are going to need to find a new home for her. Hopefully the male cat stops bringing kittens over, because we can't handle any more. They are very cute though.
What a beautiful animal. I live in Pennsylvania and my neighbor and I feed stray cats and we try to get them used to human interactions so wecan rescue them. We get them vet checked then rehome them.
Yes many rentals require pet deposit or fee if they allow pets. It's to cover normal wear and tear on the house that comes with having pets along with any damage that may be result of the pet. It usual just pertains to cats and dogs but if the landlord wants to be a pain they can say it's for anything from hamsters to birds to reptiles. And it is not cheap starting from 200 on up. And I'm pretty sure it's non refundable when you move out unlike normal security deposit
I actually work cleaning at a hospital, though I'm in Canada so its not quite the same. Generally yes hospitals are supposed to be clean. Especially specific areas like the operating room. An infestation is about the worst thing you can have go wrong since rats could wander into any area fairly easily.
I worked at a lot of gas stations, (full service?), Tires n all, from age fourteen till seventeen, I found gas station managers to be the sleeziest people in the bizz! They'd accuse the hard working attendance of stealing n eventually fire them, like this story, my last gas jockey job my boss told me $400 a day was missing, I worked 12 hours a day, only employee! So, every day I'd hide $400 in the building to see if the amount increase, it didn't? Curious, my last day I called the owner n told what was going and where I hid the money n I was quitting, he thanked me, about a week later manager was in jail....
I once worked at a full serve gas station/convenience store after getting out of the Airforce. Boss lady was an obese Karen with an equally obese daughter. I worked midnight shift as the gas jockey. Eventually Boss Lady has her fat daughter bringing me dinner at the station! She was trying to hook us up. I soon joined the Navy for my second hitch and left. 🤣
Last story, that woman isn't done causing Hades for OP and family. Crazy doesn't stop crazy just because there's a court order, she's no showed how many times without consequences? Yeah, they aren't going to get much from her.
Story 2, at 6:00 when she said that, I'd have just stood up and said "Thank you for your time, however we can't match those prices, I suggest you contact one of those companies. Goodbye" People want to try and screw you over, let them drown in their own mess.
I had a manager like in story 3 he was also the owner of the bar I worked at. Now I don't know if he had any addictions but everyday after shift I would count my drawer then hand it off to him where he would recount it in the office behind I locked door by himself and after a few months everyday he would claim my drawer was short anywhere from 20 on up and I was forced to pay it out of my tips and my weekly check that mind you I was only making like 2.12/hr (this was back in the 90s) so he would refuse to allow me to witness him count my drawer and I finally had to tell him I could literally no longer afford to pay him to work there as I had basically become a free bartender. This is why it's always a good thing to count your drawer with a witness to watch and sign off that they witnessed the amount that was in drawer and amount to be deposited. I would not ever trust to work for a person that would not allow me to watch them count my drawer it's way too easy for them to steal from it and use the employee as a scapegoat to cover their theft In last story can anyone explain why the ex kept filing appeals with the court only to not show up for court? In not sure how it works for probate court but in most other civil matters like divorce and child support if one of the claimants don't show up the judge usually rules in the other person's favor so what she was doing just doesn't make any sense
Story 2, you should NOT be poisoning the rats. They will eat and go back into the walls and then die there....rotting and smelling up the place and spreading bacteria. Traps, you put down rat traps.
10:06 True Dat, @DarkFluff!! There Does have to be a High Grade of Sanitation in a Hospital. Allergens can REALLY make a huge outbreak where the hospital would be on Quarantine by the CDC, as all Hospitals have to be Up-To-Code with their Standard of Healthcare, and all the same Standard of Healthcare, according to the CDC and FDA.
I’m currently on my third neighbor cat. First one they moved and left him. Second and third they had kids and dogs. We have neither. We did have a fully fenced yard and lots of love and food. My own cat resented them but they grew to tolerate each other. Cats know when they are wanted 😻
Also, deducting paycheck amounts for the reasons stated is completely illegal in the US if this is where it happened. You cannot deduct suspected stolen money from an employee's paycheck. The only one that can require monetary compensation for something is the government. Unless you have a very specific contract that allows for that specific type of thing to happen, that is super illegal.

As an aside to first story... is a pet rent even legal?? Story 2 hospital sounds like absolute (rat) crap. Karen's boss is just as bad as Karen, if not worse, for having patients and staff go through this.
My husband and I live in a manufactured home community. We own our double wide, but rent the lot. We are owned by 3 cats, but only claim one, sort of an 'eff you' to the owners of the park. That claim that it's to cover costs of someone being scratch or bitten. I will also note that 2 of our cats have less than zero interest in going outside, and the third will SOMETIMES step outside momentarily to see what 'Daddy' is doing when groceries are being brought inside. Anyway, pet deposits are often necessary to repair damages in rental units where dogs and/or cats have ruined carpets, woodwork, etc during their time there.
I rented out my place once. They asked my policy on pets and I said I would prefer there not be any, but if they did they should be housebroken. I was too kind. Two years later, after they were kicked out, all the furniture, carpets, baseboards, and flooring were ruined from cat urine, scratches, feces, and other damage. The human damage was even more extensive but easier to fix. So yeah, pet rent is essential when you rent out to entitled dirty morons.
In US I have never seen a place that allowed pets that don't require a pet deposit or pet fee of some sort to as others have said cover the costs of any damages that may occur do to the pets. It usually only pertains to cats and dogs but if the landlord wants to be a total douche they can write in any pets from hamsters to birds to reptiles. And other commenters are right it isn't cheap
Hospitals should be clean, but they tend to just look clean. They are known to be major incubators of awful resistant diseases. It's highly recommended by epidemiologists to avoid hospitals unless it's necessary and to stick with doctor's offices.
I once audited the books of a bus company - back in the days when fares were still collected in cash. Looking through payroll, I noticed that several drivers routinely got deductions of £50 pounds or more due to discrepancies between the amount of tickets they sold and the amount of cash they handed over. I was told not to worry about it. I must've looked shocked, so the payroll clerk went on to explain that bus drivers kept unsocial hours, and couldn't easily get to a bank when it was open (this was before hole-in-the-wall machines were common) so they would quite openly take a few quid at the end of their shift. "It all works out," I was told, "so please don't rock the boat."
Yes I thought the same thing also. When he said that the manager had been there 6 months and money started coming up missing at same time along with employee turn over I literally heard Ace Ventura in my say "REEEHHEEAALLLYY"😂
So, not everywhere in a hospital is going to be wholly sanitary. Consider, there is disposal of hazardous substances, maintenance areas and the like. Now if you were talking about operating rooms or patient areas, then yes, those need to be kept in good order.
Question - are all/most/a majority of hospitals in the United States of America owned and operated privately? I mean, are they just another for profit business, or are they owned and operated another way?

He could.
Story 1: I'm soo glad fur-baby gor a new home. People like bad neighbor shouldn't have pets or kids. I can't imagine she was much better to them.
*Story 4-* My uncle’s second marriage was to a chick that I thought was awesome. Then one day, I get a message from my mom telling me that if his wife messages me anything to not believe it. 🤨
Turns out, she started spreading rumors about my uncle being abusive so she could get money from him! 😳 He just had a bad work accident, and was getting a big settlement from the company because of it.
They were getting divorced, and luckily he hadn’t got the settlement yet, so she didn’t get any money from it.
I wanna know what happened with them! But, it’s not my business so I don’t ask…
@@petunia7623 *I know my uncle anyway, and I know he’s not the type of person to hurt anybody!* Like I said, I thought she was cool, but when I heard she was doing that, her reputation went down the drain!!! 😒
My one friend got his cat because his sister-in-law stole it from a neighbor. She said she had been feeding the cat for months because his owner clearly never did and when she asked to adopt him the owner said no. So when she and her husband were moving their last day there she grabbed the cat and bolted. My friend was able to give that sweet baby a loving home for over a decade instead of the misery he would have continued suffering. And he absolutely was the sweetest. Insisted on greeting everyone who walked in the door and would snuggle anyone the moment he met them.
So happy to hear that

We won't use the chemical flea preventer unless the cat/dog actually has fleas. Not a Luddite, but why put chemicals/medicine in a pet or human unless it's absolutely necessary.
So glad the cat is ok. She/he looks like my cat Moon Pie. People who don't care for their animals will ultimately never find peace for themselves.
He also looks like one of my cats. His name is Loki, he’s the kitty in my profile picture. Can you give Moon Pie some pets from me, please?
something similar happened to a friend of my dad. The family just abandoned a beautiful stocky black cat (he wasn't fat just really buff) to just wonder around the cul-de-sac, but cats being cats he 'decided' my dad's friend and his wife would be his new home so they ended up with a new cat (who they named General stonewall jackson - remember he was a big buff cat) Then just over a year later while friend and wife were out The Generals old family come back looking for him and asking around to see if anyone knew where he was, too bad his story of being abandoned and finding a nice safe home was well known because not a single soul told them where he was so they just left, never to return and The General got to live the rest of his life in peace chasing mice, demanding belly rubs and intimidating the local K9 population 🐈⬛
as someone who actually WORKS in hospital housekeeping.... that's an understatement. that place should never have OPENED for patients with such outstanding issues and not only Karen, but everyone involved with that craphole needs to be sued into oblivion
Karen and owners need to be locked up.
What an adorable furrbaby!❤ glad it found a truly loving home in the end
Got her nasty neighbor evicted and got a free cat to boot
That's what I call a win
Story 4 = I would also file an official complaint against Karen for harrasment, trying to make someone look bad with everyone trough lies and stalking.
idk yall but i feel like a hospital of all the things should be the most concerned place about clearing infestations and paying well to get it done right
4:53 What a little Love Bug! SO GLAD he has a good, warm, loving home now.
my guess is that karen had some sort of friend in the government that oversaw medical stuff so she got the attitude of "nothing you can do to me" because it sounds like it wasn't the first time that karen did something but was protected at least until this time when it involved patients seeing the problem that karen refused to take care of and it would have exposed her and her government connections.
S1 glad Mr kitty got a much needed upgrade in cat slave. His previous one was sadly lacking
S2. Many many years ago, I worked in a country hospital. The local feral cat colony lived there, they were the unofficial rodent control. They were unbelievably effective. And very people friendly, they were often found on our beds in the quarters.
Story 2: That hospital you worked at was like a time capsule out of Ancient Egypt when cats were first domesticated.
@JamesDavy2009 it had Florence Nightingale set up wards. The nurses quarters overlooked the morgue etc. One stop shop
Was worried about that cat at the end for a sec. One of the few times that abandoning the pet is the better option for all
Story 2: all I hear from the hospital is "fuck the patients, we need their insurance money"
Only in the States. Bottom in the OECD for healthcare while every other country in the organisation has a form of government-funded healthcare for everyone.
ya that's a merican problem... not that our healthcare system here is perfect cuz it isn't
There's only one correct response to being accused of theft as an employee - "Really? Fine. PRESS CHARGES."
That FORCES them to properly investigate.

I would believe it, especially since sanitised areas are paradise for superbugs like MRSA.
My cat Abigail turned up at the back door. She waltzed right up to my labs like she already knew them when I brought her in. Tried to locate where she came from, but obviously that didn't pan out.
Story 2 feels more like it should be in Malicious Compliance when I heard "We don't do your job, do it yourself." But hey, it still worked out.
Story 1: appreciate the cat tax but they have a great taste in board games too!
I'm glad I wasn't the only one who noticed.
The hospital story: she should have been reported to the state licensing board. No way should that hospital opened!
Moral of the last story: Keep your mouth shut when you have everything to lose.
Story 4: OP is a saint. Most men would not want the ex husband around, even if he had children with their wife.
I'm so happy that OP #1 got to keep the cat. What a cutie.
My favorite videos are the 'Pro Revenge' and 'Malicious Compliance' ones. I just have a deep-seated need to see Evil punished within my lifetime.
Thank you, DarkFluff!
On the carpet change thing, it's pretty common to replace the carpet when a pet owner moves out before renting the place out again. Hell, in my city it's required for apartments.
Allergens can get caught in the carpet fibres and no vacuum cleaner can get all of them.
Story 2: Don't mess with the people you need help from. You might just suffer in the end as Karma.
It's the same as biting the hand that feeds you.
I absolutely HATE the phrase "fur-baby." I had a hard time getting through that first story.
That is such a gorgeous cat in the first story.

1. There is such a thing as per rent?
2. Hospitals are surprisingly dirty places
After the flea story: AD FOR BRAVECTO FLEA MEDICINE!
Such a sweet looking kitty. Glad they found a great forever home.
Story #2 makes me smile 😊
Last story, that woman isn't done causing Hades for OP and family. Crazy doesn't stop crazy just because there's a court order, she's no showed how many times without consequences? Yeah, they aren't going to get much from her.
Story 2, at 6:00 when she said that, I'd have just stood up and said "Thank you for your time, however we can't match those prices, I suggest you contact one of those companies. Goodbye"
People want to try and screw you over, let them drown in their own mess.
I would not ever trust to work for a person that would not allow me to watch them count my drawer it's way too easy for them to steal from it and use the employee as a scapegoat to cover their theft
In last story can anyone explain why the ex kept filing appeals with the court only to not show up for court? In not sure how it works for probate court but in most other civil matters like divorce and child support if one of the claimants don't show up the judge usually rules in the other person's favor so what she was doing just doesn't make any sense
The ex was crazy. Don't try to apply logic to an illogical act.
Story 2, you should NOT be poisoning the rats. They will eat and go back into the walls and then die there....rotting and smelling up the place and spreading bacteria. Traps, you put down rat traps.
#1 - Lovely pet tax - what a cute orange baby that is! Justice served x2!
I bet the hospital didn’t even reduce the cost of patients stay etc when you pay through the nose for your care and meds

Just in time for my lunch break. I was hoping for a serving of reddit drama.
Transactions in cash are easier to hide, so yes, it was a lot easier for that manager to do what he did.
Really? Bc I have known of a lot of businesses in the US that do that particularly smaller individually owned ones. Not so much larger franchise or corporations
Story 3: What a terrible fate. Not only did the kids lose their father to his gambling addiction, but they also had to live in California afterwards.
What's so bad about California? A granola bar of fruits, flakes and nuts is better than a state where people are either homeless or software engineers.
It’s just awful to be accused of stealing when you actually haven’t stolen anything. Just one of the worst feelings. Especially if you have no way of proving your innocence.

As an aside to first story... is a pet rent even legal??
Story 2 hospital sounds like absolute (rat) crap. Karen's boss is just as bad as Karen, if not worse, for having patients and staff go through this.
Yeah, a lot of places in the U.S have pet rent basically cover the costs of normal pet ware it’s stupid expensive ngl usually like $300 extra

Story 1: Congratulations on your new flea-free fur baby.
What do all think is the TRUE/STORY ratio? I hope >50%, but I am back for my fix every day, so I don't seem to care
How could the lady do that to that CUTE GINGER!!
