@Chinothebad Exactly. I mean, I even play the King's Field games and Shadow Tower on my PSP using custom firmware. In ways, I actually prefer it on the PSP, especially with headphones which have dynamic sound... especially with Shadow Tower considering it's more focused on sound effects than music. The controls were really good too once you fiddle around with them for long enough. So, why not!
@xXRazorfistXx I don't know why, maybe I just needed some different music, and King's Field music was pretty refreshing, as for Demon's Souls, as much as the game lacked music in area's except for bosses and the Nexus, the lack of music did add some atmosphere to the already hostile, soul-starved land of Boletaria, especially in certains areas where enemies can surprise you like the Tower of Latria. One other thing I should of brought up on Shadow Tower was the armor designs, I loved them.
@xXRazorfistXx Well, I can't play King's Field without the music since it has some of the best music I've heard from The Ancient City's title screen music to the first song from the US release of King's Field. I even went as far as to using King's Field Music whenever I played Oblivion.
@xXRazorfistXx You got that right, besides the psp can play first person shooters on it, and yet the creators of this game could not let the gameplay be like it's predecessors.
This answers the question. Should I add this to my dark souls origins saga playthrough? Hell no, this looks terrible. I get no kings field feeling from this at all.
This is a clone of the true roots of King's Field though. If you play the very first KF JP game, you'll notice how similar it is to old Wizardry games, it's just 3D and more action oriented. That's really the biggest difference. KF Additional plays like Wizardry.
@@JayXan No, I was commenting on if it felt like a King's Field game. It's a clone of the true root of King's Field. In other words, it's the same as what King's Field was inspired by. You can tell how exactly alike it is the first King's Field game (only released in Japan). The big difference is the PS1 game has more action oriented battle system and and is proper 3D.
@xXRazorfistXx your lucky to play the games on PSP, I have one myself but I'm too scared to downgrade it since I fear I might break it, also Shadow Tower really does focus more on sound effects, giving it some atmosphere that can actually make you be scared of what you might encounter, especially since some creatures are rather creepy in a PS1 style.
@Chinothebad Yeah, the developers said they were going more for realism this time round with Shadow Tower and in my opinion, it paid off. Shadow Tower was definitely a creepy game with headphones, playing that game in the dark on full volume with that dynamic sound and hearing a creature breathing deeply and odd coming from the room next to you. Really scary stuff. I actually preferred King's Field without the music because of Shadow Tower, lol.
I got kings field 1 (Jp translated ver.), kings field 2 (us kf1) and kings field 3 (us kf2) on my psp...and let me tell you they play great on it! I love playing these games there. Also if anyone likes these style games download the pc ver of kf1 from sword of moonlight site. There are a few fan created games using the kf engine on pc too.
@Chinothebad I guess that's where me and you are different, haha. I actually preferred the Shadow Tower's focus on sound effects without the music. That's why Demon's Souls was such a big hit for me. King's Field's music was awesome, no doubt about that! But I just preferred it the Shadow Tower way... and wow, how come you exchanged Oblivion's music with King's Field? It was great! Lol.
@Chinothebad Do you have MSN or anything similar? Private message me it! This RUclips comments section is getting way to cluttered, haha. You've got some good opinions on a lot of things, I'd like to know more.
Why did they change the graphics and animation? The dungeons animate like Elminage instead of full 3d like the originals on psx. If it aint broke dont fix it.
Shin Megami Kings Field
If Fromsoftware ported these games they’d sell like hotcakes

i want the music to this game

lol, this PSP version is not like KF on ps one, this sounds like kf but plays like FF7 fight scenes.
I hate this version.. static images instead of full 3D graphics ?!
Please bring Kings Field to Vita!
This looks fun, but I don't know if I could play it since I don't know Japanese.
now maybe you can... i seems that now retro arch have on the fly translation japanese to english... take a look!
@@homejonny9326 did you try playing anything with it?

how do you save in this game?
This is horrible !!
What have they done to the franchise ??!
Oh this is like turn based dungeon crawling....no bueno
looks like slight action elements....I dunno seems lame if you played regular KF
I don't like the play style here. Stick with originality guys! (OR don't call it King's Field)
I also hate this version.
9 years later.. you must be all grown up now ! 😄
@@legrandgougoulilumine6940 Haha nah man, I'm almost 30! But yes, a very long time - totally forgot this game even existed. 😂
The way the areas in the game seem designed seem a bit..archaic. They seem confusing as hell, too. It all looks the same.

Ew, not worth getting a psp. Not worth as much as ride to hell, think about that. I'd rather play ride to hell.
This is horrible, defiantly not a king's field game, I agree that it should of been like the ps1 version.
