This seems more like benefitting government to collect income/bank details of unorganised workforce so that they can slowly start taxing them.
Well, ideally, if more people started paying tax, as a whole the rate of taxes can go down a lot.

According to me yes because upto 2.5 lacs or 5 lacs as per condition no tax is to be paid , and while making card highest was apx 2 lcs
