I remember watching an interview he did a little while ago, where he mentioned how when he first started making videos, he was actually severely out of shape after having ended his short baseball career, and only really threw BP to his younger brother JT who currently is playing college baseball. Also the first videos he made, which are no longer on the channel, were them reviewing old bats they were selling to try to make money.
With the success of the Icon in BBCOR, I’m kinda surprised the other bat companies haven’t really managed to make effective changes to their composite BBCORs in order to compete.
I think some of them don't make changes just because they're stagnant. Others don't because they know they're bad is actually good back the reality about composite is it takes a lot more breaking in time than more are willing to put in. Either on them for a long time or get them rolled
These composites need a few hundred swings to get them to start breaking in. Those fibers have to start loosening up for the trampoline effect to kick in. That’s why I’ll still say, you should roll it a couple times to break it in before recording it.
Finally somebody says it. I actually think certain Composites are better than one piece Alloys because of the size of The Sweet Spot. But it takes a lot to break them in
For starts, Will's swing is so beautiful. In one of my top 5's all time. If it didn't mess your swing up I'd love to see a video changing your stance slightly and testing exit velos. For example, in select ball growing up our coach had us remove our stride from our swing. I personally would love to see a swing change comparison ESPECIALLY I'd love to see Will's swing and exit velo if he tried loading his hands where the bat is more horizontal than vertical like it is now. I understand that is what makes his bat head so "whippy" but I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't bump his exit velo up 2 mph on the top end
I know nobody is reading all this but I do realize that loading with the bat at more horizontal would create a bit longer of a swing where right now he can really get his hands in to pull the ball on the inside of the plate but since he is only hitting BP and not real pitching I'm curious if a longer swing would create more power still or negligible results and with a penalty of being slower to the ball
Your videos are crazy addictive I don’t even play baseball and I’ve watched at least 50 of your videos this year I might buy a bat just to go to the batting cages lol
i like that ur reviewing all the new bbcors but can u do a 2025 official ranking video i’m still deciding on what bat to get like if i should still get a 2024 atlas or if i should get one of the newer bats
I feel like the Rawlings Icon is the gold standard for composite bats. I do want to see you guys swing the new Axe bats. They changed the two-piece hybrid so it would be interesting to see what your opinion is on it.
So how many swings did he take to break in. I went back and counted and he says that’s his second round with it so I’m assuming he too around 50-75 swings to break in. Maybe it’s not completely broken in yet if that’s the case. I know older composites took a couple hundred to break in. It would be interesting to see him revisit it after 200 swings to see if there was any change.
They will be. Why do you think some college players still use composites current yes or not as popular as always but they still are out there in the college game because a completely broken and composite bat is a very good that
@@deaversmith2593 most composite bats are made for the younger player. Lighter and easier for bat control. But obviously not as hot. But i know its not legal but how hot can new age composite bats really get when fully “broken in”/ getting rolled.
I'm 29 years old and I have 3 BBCORs but they are all 2012s from my high school days, I'm playing casually now again and I want to know how they compare to more modern BBCORs, have you guys ever considered doing a more comprehensive "all time" BBCOR (or other certifications) video where I can see how my bats (2012 Voodoo, CF5, XL3) stack up against other years?
They've done a video on whether BBCOR's have gotten better over the years. It seems like the bats have semi-improved but not a whole lot. I swung a Rawlings 5150 in 2012 and 2013 when I played.
If that Zen was used for 500-1000 swings, does the composite barrel still "break in" like the old composite bats? I'm not in the metal bat space, but I am with Will and very curious about the pricing of a bat that would be noticeably worse in performance.
You guys should do a -3 vs -5 vs -8 vs -10 with as close to the same bat as you can get. I'd recommend BESR era bats, a lot of those were in different weights
I’m a bigger dude (6’ 3” 270lbs) and just wanna hit as far as I can. Should I get a lighter bat to swing it faster or will the heavier bats help my push it further out? What are your guys’ recommendations? Just having a friend or a machine pitch to me for fun, I’m not on a team or anything
I so badly want these guys to try out a old 70s/early 80s Louisville Slugger Hillerich Bradsby 250GS Softball Fence Buster. That POS was the only bat us kids had at the time. Good times, lol.
I’ve had all the expensive bats like Easton, Demarini, Victus, Louisville Slugger, Rawlings, and I just recently purchased a 1 piece aluminum & 2 piece composite AXE 🪓 Bats . My teammates and I have agreed that Axe 🪓 Bats have been the bests bat out of all those big bat names and I spent less than $200 per Axe 🪓 Bat.
You HAVE to use a TPX Triton. -10, -8, -5, any of them - JUST USE IT. I hit 5 balls around 390-400 feet with one yesterday, and I could only get about 315 with a BBCOR.
I know this is gonna sound crazy. Hit with it stupid far in on your hands. I had a 2019 Zen that i got on sale for $300. I swung a 33 when i was 12, but was able to swing it with it being light as hell. It was a complete different world then any other bat. It was best super in on your hands. So pulling, being early, and getting beat on pitches hit the ball best. As that thing broke in over 4 years, the sweet spot became unbelievable. I batted my sophmore year of high school over 600. If i could get to a pitch and just touched it, it would shoot off. My teammate even had a red meta, and if you knew how to hit with the zen It was better. I loved that thing.
If you want more durability but a tiny bit less pop go icon. If you just want stupid hot but won’t last very long go hype fire. But in -8 and -10 icon is better.
Why do i always have my ????? When its about composite bats. Some are hot out of the wrapper and some need so much time to break in. Have a few softball composites but the last one i bought took around 300 swings to loosen up. Now its a monster! They did a review of the bat a long time ago but i must say it’s nothing that they showed. It’s way better. I love the Zzzwapp 🤫
If you got bats sent in by subscribers would you do a video or series on it?. For example... its a drop 3 not a drop 5. But i found a old lazer bat from my school days.. and idt it was a good bat but maybe it could be.. so maybe people send in their old but still good shape bats that arent ( good name brand) bats. And you test them..
The bros out here just making marketing departments weep.. Maybe it's worth renaming 'swing weight' to something like 'control' or 'feel'for the ratings though, and then just having a label of either balanced or end-loaded separately. An 8 on the 'swing weight' scale for it being light makes it sound good when you said you preferred the feel of the heavier bat..
Companies gotta make their margins. Everyone's asking for 10% more so they're likely putting less RnD/QA to cut budgets and still reach that 10% EoY growth. That's not even taking into consideration materials that are likely cheaper, both in base value and in quality, are being used on these $500 bats thus lowering the quality of the bat as a whole.
I honestly feel that they set the price points too high for certain bats to try and make up for the cheaper ones that end up being better than the ones that are mid.
It’s insane when hot well sounds amazing miss hit and it’s tingy. I made comment before you said it. Even someone dumb like me gets it right once in awhile.
Who else remembers the days where Will's "good" exit velos were high 90s??
Our boy's doin it!!
I remember watching an interview he did a little while ago, where he mentioned how when he first started making videos, he was actually severely out of shape after having ended his short baseball career, and only really threw BP to his younger brother JT who currently is playing college baseball.

My son Lucas got to meet John when he was working out at MOSH this summer while playing for Milkmen. John was incredibly kind to him. Thank you John!
Love seeing you guys actually out in the field taking some GB’s

do you guys ever get complaints for the building back there💀
It’s a grocery store and I think they like the attention
That grocery store probably hates these guys 😂
People rolling ankles all day in that parking lot. Wanna make it fun, record with a packed parking lot 😝
Gotta meet the maintenance guy and get on the roof to comp some balls back 😂
Need this after running three hills
Thanks for posting bro keep up the work
I love the Ball Glove King shorts!!! Favorite Bat and Glove RUclipsr's for sure

Love this stuff each and every time you all do it. I’m ready for a 2024/25 new model bat madness.

Dimarini always expensive for no reason
because they keep getting returned for warranties
Saw Cam’s spirit 👻 leave his body on JT’s shot back up the middle.
Rock on Bro’s 🤘😎
Repping BGK shorts! Sweet! Got’em! Want the pink Bros cap! Get it in merch!
We need some JT hacks with the Soldier Tank

can we see all the composite bats that aren't the icon rolled? to see if the velos are significantly higher
I no longer swing metal bats but still love watching these
I need to see a video of trying to PR distance off of a 95+ mph pitch with your hottest U trip bat!
JT is jacked! He was hitting the weights when he was at Louisiana! I still remember young JT when y’all first started this channel.
i love the sound!!! it sounds like that one ohtani home run with that super satisfying punch sound
So happy to see JT back in videos again :)

Yes
Ive spent 500 bucks on a car before that I thought was "meh", I cant imagine doing the same with a baseball bat lol Thats just nuts.
Baseball Bat Bros out here exposing the price gouging going on in the Bat market
Got my boys in my cart, we've been waiting on ya to get the video done 💪💪💪 Thanks for getting it out on launch day!
What kind of shorts are those???
0:02 already goated
the @ballgloveking shorts are fireeee
What he says at 7:55 is absolutely spot on! Waaaaay too many kids swinging the wrong size bat.
Loved seeing the bat MOIs
, please keep it going!!!
JT is there a reason for hanging of the bottom hand pointer finger off the bat or just preference??
Appreciate the legit reviews. If it sucks it sucks. Let's the people know! Lords work right here!

The zoa trip is fire tho
Heck no
I so badly want these guys to try out a old 70s/early 80s Louisville Slugger Hillerich Bradsby 250GS Softball Fence Buster. That POS was the only bat us kids had at the time. Good times, lol.
Will, is the u trip goods a repaint?

There is only one vid that I neeeeeed to see, and that is the Easton stealth comp vs the green zen and the hype… all shaved
I like the paint job. It isn’t the best paint job ever but at least it’s not just one or two solid colors
You guys should do a 25 select pwr vs 25 atlas
You HAVE to use a TPX Triton. -10, -8, -5, any of them - JUST USE IT. I hit 5 balls around 390-400 feet with one yesterday, and I could only get about 315 with a BBCOR.
Demarini preying on parents who want to buy their kid "the best" bat and who just buy the most expensive one without research.
Will, those shorts are fire 🔥 where did you get those?!

you need to give the other bat another try but in warm conditions all bats outside of wood suck in the cold
Hey guys need some advice. Is the 2025 icon better than the 2025 hype fire?
If you want more durability but a tiny bit less pop go icon. If you just want stupid hot but won’t last very long go hype fire. But in -8 and -10 icon is better.
Short answer: yes
Yo will thanks for liking my comment huge fan man seen like all your vids. You’re the reason I got the 24 icon and I’m getting the 25 from your review
Love the ball glove king shorts 🩳
weird question but any chance it is better with the harder balls? Its composite so maybe its like a slow pitch bat and the balls you hit matter.
Someone get these guys to a million subs
Keep up the good work
Can you do a vid on the marucci cat 8 bbcor
Why do i always have my ????? When its about composite bats.

Give the people what they really want! The 2025 meta review!!
Anyone know a good contact bat, thats some-what affordable kind of like the bonesaber?
Can you please try the new mach ai 2025 bbcor?
JT taking advantage of his first hurricane break? My son is a freshman baseball player nicholls, he was home all last week also. Great vid!
Demarini zen
It’s been a while Will, still waiting on that Cotton Candy Axe vid!!
It’s a good day when you upload
I love your video so much
Try the 2025 icon USA
The -5 looks soooo tuff

Compare it to the Fractal...end of video, no words needed. 😂
yo the bat sounds fire and it just dropped so might get it hopefully 😁
You should do a review on the new rope
What brand shorts are those? They are tough 🔥
Ball Glove King!
@@baseballbatbros thank you!
Love the vids
Thank the lord JT is back
You guys are awesome
Please do the green meta -3 again but broken in it’s crazy hot
Demarini is honestly the best bat company here
Need a video of the Rawlings Mach AI
Please try out the Easton s2z bbcor
Compare all the years of the select pwr

Thoughts on 2022 Gunner?
That’s a good lookin bat!!! 👀
i need yall to swing this old yellow bbcor xl1 i got, thing is a tank
Friends don't let friends buy mediocre $500 2-piece composite BBCOR bats.
Hot 1-piece alloy bats forever and ever. Stinger Guardian, Rawlings Clout, Marucci Code. Cheap, durable and amazing.
I honestly feel that they set the price points too high for certain bats to try and make up for the cheaper ones that end up being better than the ones that are mid.
SOLDER TANK 2pc PLEASE
The decision is 🔥
More junk glad to see u do some bbcor but let’s get into some stuff that may be good lol
It’s insane when hot well sounds amazing miss hit and it’s tingy. I made comment before you said it. Even someone dumb like me gets it right once in awhile.
You are the first person to comment
Yo that’s the one I voted on the pole😮
