    I remember sitting at the side of the TT course in 1992, between the Bungalow and Brandywell and waiting to hear Hizzy on the Norton Rotary. What aa glorious sound!

    I saw the first ever Norton Wankel racer at Darley Moor club meeting back in 1987. Malcolm Heath was the rider. It was it's first ever race it was popping and banging all around the circuit but they got it right in the end !.

      That was the air cooled bike that Crighton built from a wrecked police Commander. They named it Waltzing Walter because of the way it handled.

    Did he mean to stall at the end? Don't blame the tacho. & spot the "turtles head" coming in on the left at 1.43 That made me laugh! I read somewhere that some 'fiddling' put an end to this amazing machine. Something about money going missing. The Norton Rotary is now being rebuilt in India, this time by motorcyclists, not dodgy buisness men who have no interest in motorcycles.First as a race bike, then later production for the road. There is hope at last!

    It’s like a 2 stroke because it is. Had an rx7. Only one moving part.

    • @onecookieboy
      @onecookieboy 2 года назад +2

      One moving part? 2 rotors, and a crankshaft, that makes 3.

    • @BarnettSpeedSuzukiThou
      @BarnettSpeedSuzukiThou 2 года назад

      @@onecookieboyApologies, I should've been clearer. I was eluding to the original ethos of the engine, which was to have only 1 moving part by Mr Wankel at NSU..

      After the seizure there were no moving parts😂😂

    • @onecookieboy
      @onecookieboy 2 года назад

      @@_sneer_ Agree, but people like to compare them to a 2 stroke for some reason, perhaps the oil injection or ports instead of valves, who knows, perhaps they are a 1 stroke (everything happens in one revolution of the rotor) or a three stroke (intake, power, exhaust), hard to say

    • @onecookieboy
      @onecookieboy 2 года назад

      @@_sneer_ I both agree and disagree, they have a rotor which pretty much does the same thing as a piston and the principle is the same, air and fuel mix in, compression and ignition of air fuel mixture and exhausting of burnt fuel, that is where the analogy of a 3 stroke comes from.

  • @jaimea2722
