Well, at least I recognized it easily 😊 Thank you, and good luck on your search for Sibelius' sacral music. Regards form the rainy/sunny/rainy/sunny Helsinki!
Tbh, think you were a bit unfair on yourself with the making a mess note Tim - Finlandia is an incredibly beautiful piece, but it's still challenging (for what it's worth, I have to really concentrate on the music for each verse - no word painting, no soloing the melody). You kept a solid tempo, and added colour and emotion with registrations throughout. Bit of polish? Sure. But you certainly didn't mince it. We who accompany congregations in the ministry of music need to learn to be a bit kinder to ourselves ❤ (...yes, saying that to me, and several other amazing organists/musos, and I'll get off my soapbox now... 😁) Keep at it mate, it's an absolute joy to hear your work
Oh, and re word painting - my biggest problem is the verse in my head probably isn't the verse he congregation is singing most of the time (e.g. In "Be Sill My Soul", I'm probably always at "When dearest friends depart, and all is darkened in this vale of tears").
@@timrozitis961 it's hard work, and the only real answer (from my experience at least) is keep practicing (and be open to the fact clangers do occur) :P
