For those of you who haven't seen School Days and want to be spared the trauma, it gets a LOT worse than Makoto being stabbed by Sekai. Before this, she claimed she was pregnant. Makoto essentially responds with abort it and makes out with another girl, Kotonoha, in front of her. After the stabbing, she (Sekai) is led to the school roof via a text from Kotonoha who recreates the ending to the movie "Seven" with Makoto. Then she slices her throat and carves open Sekai saying she knew it was a lie (the pregnancy). Final scene is her taking a sailing trip with what is left of Makoto.
Ouch! Now that’s brutal. Well, at least the sailboat looks nice.
This is why I'm glad I got the visual novel so I don't have follow the same path as the anime and have good endings.

Makoto was reaching for Sekai's chest while he was being stabbed. That's how much of a predator he was, and how Sekai did every defenceless girl a favour.
LMAO he definitely was not. He put his hand on her leg because she was ... stabbing him.
Think what you will about Makoto but Sekai nor Katsura were defenceless lol. 🤣
Gon turned Pitou into a fine paste. Not even the Simpsons’ “Stop! Stooooop, he’s already dead” can truly describe it.

But well, actually the "dead" Pitou got back at him and killed him too if I remember correctly. So it actually wasn´t even enough.
@@theNightrage the corpse initially got back up, slashed off Gon's arm while Killua tried to calm him down, and that's when Gon proceeded to beat the corpse into a paste
@@codemonkies I thought Gon kinda died too in that "fight", or at least ended up being nothing more than a pile of ashes, which the series still claimed to be alive or something, and then Killua revived him with a magic trick that this strange girl (was it his sister?) could pull of. Must have been wrong. I actually didn´t like the show tbh, mainly because I hated Gon, so I kinda forgot about most of it again.
@@theNightrage you werent too far off; he was horrendously cursed as part of the cost of his major transformation, and for all intents and purposes may as well have been dead (skin and bones, barely conscious, and exuding a cursed aura that scared the top exorcists into not even trying); it is shortly afterward that Killua then gets his sister, who uses the power of the nen spirit possessing her to revive Gon
Subaru's rabbit death was also very unexpected and brutal. You never expect that a cute looking rabbit can sever his hand off.
This'll sound incredibly messed up, but did anyone find the rabbit gnawing on his finger like a carrot adorable in a weird way?
It's hard to Sympathize with Makoto, he really did have it coming.

For me it was the girl falling over her umbrella in Another. It came out of nowhere and the show did not hint at all that people will be dying like that. Only time I gasped out loud watching something.
The ending of School Days truly scared the hell out of me.
That was a nice boat, though.

I saw the anime before I even heard of the game, so I had no clue things would turn out that way. I have never WTF more harder at a plot twist than this show.

How could you forget the boy being killed by Caster in Fate/Zero? One of the most sudden, shocking and unnecessary deaths in all of anime.
Despite how school days ended, it showed me that such a situation can happen in real life. Truly deserved to be called a slice of life. Especially if you are the same as Itou Makoto.
Yeah, School Days caught me off guard and mislead me to think it was just your normal romance, slice of life anime. I also don't feel bad for Makoto, but damn what happened after that...yeah...
Devilman Crybaby had its share of brutal deaths but non compare to the character

Miki. Her death was not expected and hurt me because of the context and result of it all. She didn't deserve it
Almost all deaths from blood C could be in top 10. It needs its own top 10. The giant rabits still haunt me.

I believe Rika's death from Higurashi is the most brutal as she's been living in a loop for hundred of years. She's been killed in different brutal ways in each loop.

HxH fanboy here. While I do agree that Gon going berserk on Pitou is brutal, its not brutal in the traditional sense. As we can see (and the narrator explains) Pitou was dead after the 1st punch. She didnt suffer, she wasnt in pain, it was an instant death. So, it was a brutal death physically for Pitou. It was a brutal death psychologically for Gon.
Actually, Pitou still survived the first punch but due to the damage to her head couldn't move. The narrator mentioned Gon landing the final blow a few jajankens later, so she was still alive during that beat down
Surprised Subaru's rabbit death wasn't included. I don't think there is more brutally way to day by being eaten by rabbits
I remember seeing that scene from school days in one of my high school classes I asked my friend why was his girlfriend gonna kill him and he said he cheated on her I didn’t feel bad about him but damn was that scene hard to watch especially when he told me it was a slow death
The ending of school days was truly one of the most shocking moments of my life I couldn't even sleep for 2 hours because of how it ended I couldn't stop thinking about it for days I even considered going to see a therapist which I did luckily I got out of my system but I'll never look at anything the same after that.

Agree. Blood+ actually have a pretty decent plot compared to the clusterfk that is Blood C
It just had more memorable scenes.
It's like deac beautiful women are more easily remembered and mourned than those that had great character...
I love their anime lists, Ash does a great job, I think he's one of the better voice over artists or whatever you'd call it, and he seems genuinely knowledgeable, on other lists sometimes you can tell the person doing the voice over doesn't know what they're talking about

Anyone here felt so shocked of what happened to Makoto even though they shouldn't? I do. I mean, the guy had it coming but c'mon getting literally murdered then beheaded was an overkill

I get that feeling where it’s like my heart and stomach are compressed together and then climb up my throat.
I get that feeling when I think of something that’s both horrific and depressing.

I gotta say back in the day the school days main line ending definitely threw me off. It was very unexpected. Welcomed, but unexpected.
It's great knowing that the first anime that I ever watch that led me to my interest today was School Days, it reminded me a bit of Cruel Intentions

2019 was my favourite year of watching anime because it started off with an anime that traumatised me:
School days
When I first saw School Days I thought it was going to be your typical high school romance anime
But then the finale pulled a full 360
I would have been disappointed if School Days was not on the very top of the list. Since I first watched it, in 2014. I am still traumatized by it to this day.
I was legit waiting for Madoka magica to come up, kinda surprised deaths like Mami didn't feature

Look, as far as Akame ga Kill goes, I’m not even sure Chelsea has the worst death. Lubbocks death hurt me more, and seemed so much more brutal

That was excepted though... That was the intension of the show. You need to read the title of the video again.
Devil man crybaby that massacre scene was brutal
2 of the ones I witnessed.
1. Illya, got blinded by being slashed in the face and then had her heart torn completely out (For granted it was one of the prerequisites for the Holy Grail to surface, but still)
2. Chiaki - was subjected to a maze which slashed her shoulder, her leg, her face and then completely skewered her... in the end, she was only alive through sheer determination

Honestly both Makoto and Sekai could be on here. Not only was he killed by Sekai but then Kotonoha chops his head off carries it with her to then go kill Sekai (whom is supposedly pregnant with Makoto’s kid) cuts her open to check if there was a bun in the oven, then rides of into the sunset…. School Days was insane
Also it’s crazy that Makoto wasn’t killed by Kotonoha since the show was showing her going crazy and almost into yandere territory
Then again this game is a VN/Eroge game also and the ending was one of many other “bad” endings

School Days is really terrifying romance anime that I ever watched, it makes think that I don't want to see that anime again. A scary romance ends in a blood bath.

Can't wait until Kengan Omega becomes an anime. What Kure Raian did to Alan Wu needs to be on an updated version of this list.

Chelsea 2:36 was a bad character for me. In fact, I was happy for her death and I never grieved for her. On the contrary, I grieved for Bols, whom she had killed.

Mami's death shocked me, I couldn't believe it, a part of me believed that she would come back to life but it wouldn't happen. That's when I learned that Madoka Magica was not so cute as it looked

@@NightLight9595 mistake? The show is one of the most successful series of the century so far. They're making a 4th movie for it after 9 years. It literally redefined the genre. You can say you don't like the show, but it clearly wasn't a mistake.
The theories I’ve heard about her death are pretty gruesome, as well. The one where the girls are actually liches makes disturbing sense. It never says that outright, but as long as the gems where their souls are housed are intact they’ll survive? And they eventually go insane, turning into witches? Sounds like a lich to me. Which brings me to Mami’s ‘death’. Her phylactory was intact, so she probably survived the beheading. Only, there was no way to reattach her head, so… what happened to her?

I was SUPER late to Hunter x Hunter and just finished the chimera ant arc. What a fuckin' adventure! So many good moments, especially the climax between Gon and Pitou. I NEED more of the anime; I don't even wanna continue the remaining 10 or so episodes because I'm sad I'll be caught up! 😭
