As a Swedish person, my favourite chopsticks that I use daily were a gift from some surveilled Japanese people. They are light, pointy, and have a rough finish at their tips. And very well balanced. I struggled for years trying to use chopsticks, nowadays they are my go-to.
I'm also a white Western guy, used to hate using them but best to keep trying them and eventually you get the hang of it. Can't use it for everything, same way there's no universal utensil for us (we need knives, forks, spoons)
I prefer Korean-style chopsticks (as an American), mostly _because_ they are metal. No worries about scratches getting contaminated or finishes wearing off, and you can just toss them in the dishwasher. The long-handle spoons are an awesome bonus too (bigger than a teaspoon but smaller than a soup spoon; the perfect size).
As Vietnamese, I suppose the Korean chopstick is the hardest to use. It is heavy, flat in shape, and slippery, hard to use with almost foods but I think it seems more clean and looks more nice. The Japanese chopstick is better a bit but the head of it is too small and also hard to use with some foods. The best shape I think is the Chinese chopstick. The Vietnamese chopstick is almost the same but the material is bamboo while I think the Chinese is wooden or plastic primarily. With bamboo chopsticks, we feel very comfortable and easy to use with all kinda foods.
I like this video. I've lived in China, Japan and Korea, and I agree that different chopsticks are different for different types of food. If I'm eating a big plate of noodles, such as Lanzhou La Mien or Vietnamese Pho, then it has to be long Chinese style wooden chopsticks, it would be really uncomfortable and slow with small wooden Japanese style chopsticks. If I'm eating a bowl of sushi or udon noodles, close to the mouth, then short chopsticks are perfect, and if I'm eating Kimbap or Bimbimbap, then metal chopsticks would be perfect too. In China, short chopsticks are used for small bowls of noodles, often simple foods, like Cantonese noodles. Long chopsticks make more sense when the food is in the middle of a large restaurant table and you're eating with several people, sharing dishes. Short chopsticks are really convenient for that.
In that case with many different sizes and types of chop sticks, it is simplistic to bring one standard spoon and fork to do the job. The Italians have mastered the pasta eating without chopsticks.
I am Japanese. Chinese chopsticks are long and difficult to use. Korean chopsticks are made of metal, durable and hygienic. However, there are times when the chopsticks make contact with the teeth and make a small metallic sound when eating. Therefore, I only use wooden chopsticks. Wooden chopsticks are gentle and natural. 
One of the stories I heard about why Korean chopsticks are made of metal was that, initially, it was made of silver and used by the royal families. Silver turns black when the food is poisoned by Arsenic Sulfide. It was, though, the same reason why ancient Chinese royal families used silverwares, not just chopsticks.
I find Korean chopsticks to be the most challenging for me to use which is why I make myself use them most often. I figure if I can get comfortable with them, I’ll be more chopstick proficient overall. Plus then when I visit Korea someday, I’ll be all set! My preferred chopsticks are Japanese though. I have small hands so the lightness and pointy ends are optimal for me.

Chinese chopsticks were mostly ivory back in the days that's where they get their beige color from for their plastic version. These days Chinese chopsticks could be either wood, metal or plastic.
I think metal korean chopsticks come in handy because when I seen when Koreans are cooking they use the metal chopsticks to stir in the pan and the chopsticks won’t burn because it’s not made of wood so that’s actually a good thing

I was told Koreans switched to metal to prevent wasting wood, which is nice. I think there was a move in Japan to switch to metal chopsticks as well, but it didnt hold much ground. Oh btw, we reuse our wooden chopsticks in Japan at home. In restaurants they distribute single use wooden chopsticks.
Japanese people have their own chopsticks for personal use at home, and even family members do not share chopsticks. Also, we do not reuse disposable chopsticks in restaurants. All disposable chopsticks are disposable. You're wasting wood and you need to take it seriously.

Filipino-American here: I find that peanuts just slip into place with Chinese chopsticks. Instead of pinching them, I just hold the sticks about a quarter-inch apart, slide them onto the plate, bowl, and eat whatever peanut slid into that space.
i bought Chinese type of metal chopsticks from Shopee, and the seller claimed that to be Korean Metal Chopsticks.. 😢 but actually it's thick & long Chinese Chopstick.. only the materials is from Metal..

I remember that I traveled to Malaysia for 1 week with my parents when I was 13 years olds, I supprise because they did not use chopstick for eating, and then I asked my parents why they do not have chopstick, and my father said that only Vietnamese use it, other country will use spoon or hand. I hate Korean chopsticks. They're so heavy and flat which makes then difficult to use. Chinese chopsticks are a little too long and the tips too stubby imo. Japanese chopsticks are my preference. They are just the right length and being light , they're easy to manipulate. Btw, I'm Chinese.

@@地獄龍-m7q 現在でも手で食べる人は一定数いますよ。特に男性が高級店で食べる時は手で食べるイメージです。しかし、手で食べることが伝統かといえばそうではないと思います。当時から箸はあらゆる料理を食べるときに使われていましたし、何より当時の寿司は箸で食べるにはおまりに大きかったためです。どれぐらい大きかったかといえば大きなおにぎりほどです。現在の寿司と大きさが違う以上、箸で寿司を食べることが伝統を忘れていることにはならないでしょう。

And along time later when I was 16 years olds, I moved to Taiwan, I was so supprise because Taiwanese also use chopstick. After that, I understood that some my neighbor (Chinese) also use it, but the character of chopstick is completely different.

I hate Korean chopsticks. They're so heavy and flat which makes then difficult to use. Chinese chopsticks are a little too long and the tips too stubby imo. Japanese chopsticks are my preference. They are just the right length and being light , they're easy to manipulate. Btw, I'm Chinese.
