- In this video we are at Lake Lanier in early May fishing for post spawn Spotted Bass. This is an interesting one, we show you how to dead stick a fluke to catch lethargic post spawn fish. I hope this video shows you another way of catching these fish when they are a little slow. Thanks for watching! Please subscribe so you don't miss an episode!

Good fishing! two chips off the old block!
You got that right!
That was nothing but the fluke day for yall. enjoyed the video.iam going out this Sunday afternoon only time i can go this weekend probably going to be rough out there with all the boat traffic
It was the only thing they would bite on that day. Sunday should be good, but the rain might slow things down.
Great day of fishing Dana, sometimes, NO movement is the BEST movement, enjoyed it
Thanks Chauncey! They didn't want it to move much at all on that day. Kind of unusual for fluke fishing.
@@FCPFishing Good morning Dana, yeah, but they probably thought it was injured or dying, great job Dana, looking forward to the next vid, I learn so much from your vid, THANKS for sharing, responding, and what you do to make me and others, BETTER fisherman 🎣
That was a neat comparison with the bait fish it spit up.
That is valuable information that is being spewed on the deck of the boat. I learn a lot from it.
The Smallmouth Spawn is gonna be rocking this weekend and I’m going to a new lake with big Smallmouth in it. I’ve got a couple pkgs of Lizards and I’m looking forward to a good day. By the time our next Tournament is here they’ll be in a Post-Spawn pattern and I will try this method.
I'll be watching for the video!
Shad barf! lol When the fish are puking like a sorority girl at a party, you are in the right spot.
The deck of my boat is covered in shad guts right now. I just let it dry and peel it off.
I noticed you tie your swivel about 2 to 3 feet from the hook/fluke. I normally tie mine around 6 to 10 inches away. Gonna try it your way to see if I get more strikes.
Recently, my brother and I were fishing the exact same color flukes, same line size, and the only difference was his swivel was about 8 inches up the line. I caught twice as many as he did. I think it helps the action when the swivel is farther away from the bait.
In this week, weather hasn’t been good and water turned more clear. Fish bites were very slow.
It was slower, but they can still be caught. I’ve got some good videos coming up!
Dana! What rod and reel are you using?
It looks like you are asking casting that lite fluke. Normally, I use a shimano spinning rod combo but would prefer a bait caster.
I am currently using an Ark Cobb Series 7 foot medium heavy rod and a Shimano SLX reel. It has 14 lb Gamma fluorocarbon line. I prefer the bait caster for the weightless flukes. It is much better for precision casting under over hanging tree limbs and it handles bigger fish so much better.
If you nigh fish, how about doing a striper top water video.
I work nights, so I'm afraid I can't do any night fishing.
Good video and good advice!
Thank you!
May I ask what brand of fishing line you use and how many pounds it is on this fluke fishing rig? thanks
I use Gamma fluorocarbon exclusively. I have 14 pound test on my fluke rod. It is the best fishing line you can buy. I highly recommend it.
@@FCPFishing Thank you very much
@@albertwang938 You are welcome.
