I am long time windsurfer (75kg), and I got this board 110L after being frustrated with getting up on foil on an inflatable. The very first time using in heavy chop and strong wind board got up easily and I got my best rides ever. For my conditions (heavy chop, often off-shore winds, can be flukey, fresh water) I think this size will be my main board, need the size for safety for those listed reasons.
Well said, inflatable boards are cool for traveling purposes but that is about it. The Naish Hover is great in those conditions you ride in for sure. Were excited to hear this board works great for you. Thanks for watching our review, and have an awesome day.
Unless you plan to use your board as a SUP as well, go with the smallest board you can. I stopped using my 110L board after 3 rides and switched to my 36L surf foil board because it is so much more maneuverable and easier to ride in every way (except maybe for really light wind starts)

Is this a good beginner board? The shape is pretty different compared to other beginner boards, so I wonder if this is suited more for a specific purpose like wave riding
Hi @ermanakbay, the Hover in the larger sizes is a fantastic board to learn on. We typically steer people toward the 110L or 125L depending on rider weight and board sports experience - give us a call at the shop if you have any questions!

Is the gs board more durable than the carbon? I am thinking its best to get the one that will last the longest even if its a bit heavier. thanks
Yes the GS board is more durable for sure. I have personally owned the carbon board and it was quite durable against the elements. The GS board is going to last you a long time.

What is the weight difference between the carbon and GS in the 125L size?
So the weight difference between the 125L GS and the Carbon is about 5lbs total weight. (Carbon is lighter)
What's your long term feedback on the Hoverboard. I'm about to buy a 95L as I'm 85KG and just gibing so beginner / intermediate. I sail in Wanaka New Zealand on lakes and use either a 5m WASP or a 3.5 Armstrong wing. I use an Armstrong 1550 foil with a 85mast, 232 tail etc and was wondering about the position in the track and the board foil combo. I've just had my Fanatic Skywing delaminate under the trackion pad so I'm in need of a change.. Thoughts? P.S. If you know of people travelling to NZ to foil there are a Sh*t ton of great lakes and coastline to sail. Happy to share and to show folk around..
The Naish Hover Wing foil board long-term has been very positive for us. The board construction is top notch and has held up very well. I personally have only ridden the 85L and 60L sizes, but my weight is 68KG. For your weight I think the 95L would be a great step down in volume based off of your skill level. As far as mast placement that will depend more, I think on your personal preference when riding. While using the Naish Hover board I was on Naish foils, and I tend to put my mast right in the middle of the track box.
I'll reach out to our sales manager because I know he has used the Naish Hover board with an Armstrong 1550 to get his thoughts on mast placement. @@KitePaddleSurf DJ here. I have ridden the Naish Hover 110L and 85L. I normally put my Armstrong Foil most of the was forward in the track. That was is my preference.
Hi, I weigh 80Kg and I have a Naish Hover 95. It is the perfect size for me because it is small enough to jump but also allows me to float well and return to shore if the wind dies.
I tried an 85L and I was able to navigate but it was much more difficult to stand on it, especially in very rough water.
I am at the same level as you, perfecting the gybes and starting with the first jumps.

Can you use this board with a f one phantom foil?
Does anyone know what Mast position would be required?
Foil boxes are pretty standard so you can typically use any foil with any board - sometimes there are issues with the hardware but they are pretty simple to work around. As far as mast position it is very preference based, I would recommend starting in the middle of the box and adjusting by feel after a session or two.
So they pulled in the nose and tail but the volume specs stayed the same? Where did that trimmed volume go?
I would assume they put more foam in the rails and took it out of the nose and tail. I had the s25 model and from the eye its hard to see the difference between the two seasons.
If you have any more ?'s on that board let me know, its a super rad board for winging.

How does it prone foil surf in the smaller sizes compared to dedicated prone foil boards?
In comparison to dedicated prone foil boards they hold more volume. The hover wing board is 4'10" at 60L, a comparable prone board at that length would only have 40L. That extra 20L helps me pop up with more stability, and gets me into the waves sooner. I would not go bigger then the 60L Hover Wing board because of its width at 22 1/2". I would say it surfs really well in small surf because of the extra volume but still super short to make it more maneuverable. Hope that helps you out Andrew. Thanks for checking out the review.

Hello, What is the allowable weight of this 60L? How many meters can the wind speed ride? Currently, I weigh 68 kg. I am using Naish HOVER 75L on a strong wind slope. The constant wave height is 2ft and the wind speed is 25knots.
sorry for the delayed response, been super busy wingfoiling, shooting more videos. You weigh the same as me and I ride the 60L board. I can start from my knees, the board will drop just below the water surface. Once you get power in the wing the board will rise above the water line. I stepped down from a 85L and it took a few sessions to figure out the balance point of the board while getting to my feet. Your wind conditions are perfect for this board size, any wind less then 15knots its challenging to get up on the 60L. Hope that helps out.

Hello Johnny. For beginners we advise the formula of weight in kg + 40 for the volume of the board. So I would go with the 125L. The 110L may be good as well. If you have advanced foiling skills you can size down a bit but your progress will be slower. Foiling is a lot different than surface riding. Higher volume will allow you get up onto foil as a beginner and build skills. As a beginner it will take some time to properly pump the wing and the foil. A couple of former advanced level windsurfers locally are just starting to wing and they are on a 110L (180lbs) or a 125L (220lbs).
