Yea, it has been a real hassle to use the digital coupons for both me and my elderly mother. Takes a ton of time that I do not have. But the savings are real. It’s too bad they did not consider what a hardship it would be for elderly who struggle with learning all the technology to make use of the technology. It took months for my elderly aunt to learn how to use the app and get groceries delivered.
Their methods have been so shady. I’m younger and very tech adept, but don’t have time to go through all their deals before entering a store when I shop on the fly. How asinine is it to hold a freezer door open, open the stupid app (if it loads without reception), get close enough to scan the label code, and app won’t pull it up because there’s no reception? Ok now I have to connect to their WiFi, check their disclosures, etc. Stupid. The goal seems to be most friction possible to prevent more people receiving competitive prices.
It infuriates me that people living on a fixed income are being kept from real deals and savings. I have made it my personal duty to stop when I see an older person struggling to figure out how to use the QR codes. I have downloaded the king soopers and safeway apps in the aisle, (in no cell service Aurora that’s a mighty feat!), and walked through the store until I’m sure they’ve mastered it. And I hope this is building up that good karma so folks won’t leave me behind as I age and technology advances.
I would prefer King Soopers do away with digital coupons! Give me the best price just by using my Sooper! I shouldn't have to remember to pick up a sheet with a bar code and what if the store is out of them!!!
I went to the King Soopers at 80th & Wadsworth about a year an a half ago, Over a year ago, Kroger announced that if you want the deals online but don't have the app/ a smartphone, you simply ask at the service desk, they knew nothing about it.
Thank God for this explanation. King Soopers app is very hard to use. A staff member couldn't use it either even though they tried to help me. They were in produce and did not tell me about the new signs.
Dangling a carrot - Both KS and Safeway! The apps don’t even work half the time (poor signal) while shopping inside their stores to add the digital coupons. Usually have to plan ahead and add the coupons before entering the store 🤬
The King Soopers i shop at does not have good cell reception inside the building, so this new change is very welcome!

really all coupons are kinda dumb, just do a normal sale, the whole digital thing is to steal user data we all know it

Thank you for the info regarding King Sooper digital coupons. Wonderful!
Digital coupons are total trash. I hate them.

I have seen $2.50 at Ahorra Grocery Store in Aurora. Since that time they are now $3.15 for a dozen.
I don't want to need to use a phone to do grocery shopping.

Calling things a hack which aren't a hack.
so just normal coupons? um... okay.
