Well even in TBBT he also wore shoes indoors after going outside, so I think it's a little in line with his character than a lot of things go over his head when it came to things like that, lots of his fears and attitudes were irrational to begin with so he also was not coherent with them
Sheldon claimed to be smart but he was easily fooled by his sister's "game", not going to lie, felt good that he never discovered that "sardines" was made up to get rid of him.
I wonder if Missy told that story to the other kids, since that same trick kept being used against him repeatedly.

People are saying he's only snitching because the kids are the ones being bad. Well, bad is a relative term...they're kids. Reading a magazine or throwing water balloons compared to having sex, drinking, or doing drugs is extremely tame.
The issue is how much pleasure he's getting from it. He is enjoying seeing them be miserable and that in itself is bad...dare I say villainous. His mother should've taught him that it's bad to take joy in other people's misery...especially if he's the one causing it!

I like how they give subtext to why he was bullied. In TBBT he simply says he was often left out and bullied but here it shows he was gave a reason to why he was ditched

Mary's parenting skills are questionable a lot of the time. His parents don't correct Sheldon's hurtful rudeness and you see it when he's an adult. I like the new minister.
When I was their age I usually stopped listening to my Mom whenever she said something with church in it.

I like how he embraced his abnormalities. He has self love and by God, people lack it and it's easier to, if you are different from others. In TBBT it didn't look like much, but after seeing how Paige was, I feel nice that he was ignorant about emotions and social interactions.

@Christopher Bingham Billy and Missy are the only ones we seen, in another clip Pastor Jeff and the others also confiscated other stuff, and Mary comments how it's good to have eyes on the inside, cue Sheldon. Even before they go there, she tells him it's his duty to rat out the others.. which he accepts in a heartbeat before she can even finish the sentence

@Francisco Leyva Martin She was happy about her divorce. Being pregnant again, not so much. She seemed happy with her life, overall. Sheldon said she did end up happy, with a loving family and friends, which for most people is more relatable than winning a Nobel Prize, which most people are never going to experience.
Missy is street-smart, while Sheldon is book-smart.

@@OHCAM5 his character is based on someone with aspergers syndrome ( characteristics and such) according to the actor that played him but the producers said he's not on the spectrum only to avoid backlash for not representing the character well. That's how neurodivergent people work they don't act as we neurotypical find appropriate a lot if the time and that's fine.

But if he was, people would have a good reason to be upset, because a character like him would be an offensive caricature of the condition, and not a good representation of autistic people as a whole at all. In fact, it already does, because I’ve seen quite a few autistic people say that people will stereotype them and expect them to be like Sheldon Cooper when they’re not.
