I would highly recommend Silicone grease vs. Lucas Oil (or any oil based lubricant), as it will break down the plastic over time. Silicone grease is recommended for plastics and elastomers.
I was afraid to even lubricate mine but when it started sticking I had to. The limitation to mine is definitely the trigger. Thanks for this Tim! I think it’s going to be an easy modification…..😬
Great video! Should help answer a lot of the questions folks have about tinkering with the FCG. We used lube on the sear of the Gen 1 handset to smooth out the action as well. Makes a huge difference.
@@x0r187 I enjoy all of the drills and stages and like the challenges each present. I spend quite a bit of time on the zeroing range simply shooting each distance target in different sequences
@@AviSpira you’d just need a heavier spring to replace both of the sear and trigger return springs. However, I’m not sure where or what specifically to get

Would love to see how you integrate ace into your training
@@dakotasmith448 I use Ace either before or after a dry fire session. It’s a great addition and not a replacement

On my way to the top now !! 😀😀
You are a gunsmith!!
Hahaha!
Hey Tim, Ace XR has so many drills... any particular go-to drills you find the most valuable that you keep coming back to?

If I wanted to make the trigger pull heavier, what type of spring would I need to do that?

@@AviSpira you could try stretching the existing springs to add a bit more tension
@@TimHerronShooting Thnaks, gonna do some looking to see if I can find the springs needed!
Thanks Tim, how often do you pull out the FCU and add more Lucas?
I mention that in the video. About every 50k trigger presses
What are your mag, slide, and trigger release settings? Do they make any difference from the default settings? Nice vid
Those settings are going to be fine tuned to Ace controller to meta controller interface
Do you recommend this platform to practice? How does it translate to real life applications …. Thank you
I think it’s a valuable addition to my dryfire
