I'm still watching all of your videos... Your the reason I discovered Mississippi John Hurt...I have spent the last 8 years learning his songs... I love your versions... thank you so much for creating these videos for us. It may not be a big deal to you, but you honestly changed the way I played guitar and I will forever be playing this style of music until the day I die. God Bless
Have you been to Mississippi? If not you should..if possible in summer..everything is so slowed down and muggy..sticky but sweet and somehow this tune oozes that feeling.
I just got DVD on Mississippi John Hurt-happy traum and John Sebastian of the loving spoonful teaches it. I'm really diggin' it. the fingerpicking is going to take some time, this is beautiful...good job :)
I've watched several of your vids. I'm 66 yrs old and have had my soul replenished by your renditions. Not many people your age can channel into these pure emotions from our rich heritage. Poetry, pure poetry.
I probably already commented before but, great job. Had to come back and hear it again. Hurt's one of my favorite guitarists/singers and you do him great justice. Cheers.
You make beautiful music. Like others have posted in before ... I hope you are now doing this on a bigger stage. There are so many people just making noise and earning millions plus awards and recognition. You deserve more than just my thumbs up on youtube. I'd buy the record, the cd, the mp3, come see the live show ... just tell me where.
Love the way you let the guitar do the talking at 1:33, like John Hurt would do. I love John Hurt's playing and I believe you have paid him a great tribute.
yes this girl should be signed, great voice and style of playing, very rythmic and sensitive. the Candyman blues track you play is one of the best versions of that song i have heard, no disrespect to the great Mississppi John Hurt, who i love but your version just gets me, cant stop playin' it.
you are so good, today I found this video and it repeated many times, I like you're a beautiful woman and I like that way of playing that I love you, I am Peruvian and I love the blues (I'm using a translator)
Ya, this is phenomenal. Very seriously, you are a great musician and clearly have a lucid sense and grasp of the ineffable element in the blues and in music in general that really transcends everything else and makes the truth of it palpable. You don't need to smile and you don't need to mute with you right hand if you don't want to. Keith Richards never did, he let those bass notes resonate forever. most cross picking blues musicians don't. The complex saturation of notes creates character
Just came back for some good music thank god you got such a funny chanel name so i remembered it )). I wish i will be able to play guitar like you some day just started playing it )).
Thank you!! I've been lovin MJH for a while, but this vid got me learning how to finger pick. You have such a casual easy vibe - love it! Truly inspiring C
I just love your interpretation of this song. It`s my absolute favorites of John Hurt. And in the other videos i have seen so far i have nothing else to say... If you go label or start recording, i will gladly buy your music;)
John Hurt also inspired me to learn to pick like that. You would probably also like dixiesguitar, I've learned a lot from her as well as yourself. I can't stop listening to this song
She's got the Blues in her beautiful face and eyes...Never give up (sent by Singer/ songwriter from Germany)
