the name "i no longer fear the razor guarding my heel" i believe is a reference to when the Boy$ decided they weren't going to step around the topic of their trauma and addiction, which leads to their mental health issues. their "heel" , like the achilles heel myth from the Illiad, resembles their weakness, such as their addictions and mental health issues, and the razor that guards the heel is their music, and its symbolic of them opening up and getting real with it. its also similar to one of their other albums/mixtapes "my liver will handle what my heart cant" which is the tape they made when Ruby and Krystal broke up, as well as around the same time Scrim either OD'd or relapsed (i forget the lore) and they also decided that they would use these painful moments to make more music because at the time, it was still either make music or dont eat the next day

Ruby's verse on the last song gets me crying every time. Its so insanely beautiful and vulnerable.
I swear I normally feel called more to Scrim's verses, but Ruby showed me a lot that I relate to on this project, and he didn't hold back an inch.
It's just a very dialed in self-assessment from someone who has lost the ability to see a positive outcome from love.

I love that $uicideboys improve both mentally and music wise lately, and I will always appreciate them for that.
I've been listening to $B since 2016 and this is the one I relate to the most out of any artist the deeper you relate the harder it hits
The first time I listened to all three of the songs while looking at the lyrics and understanding them made me cry because there music touches my soul I love everything about them and I genuinely believe there music saved me from killing myself and making me feel like I wasn’t alone I love the boys

hey tom you gotta understand that they change their voices all the time song to song. so whenever you're doubting which one it is always know that the deeper voice with usually a better rhythm its ruby and then the other one is of course scrim. usually scrim goes first but lately in their most recent drops its been ruby first. hope this helps!
I legit cried when I heard the part about hell and hopelessness. Been dealing with clinical depression for a long time now and while things have gotten better for me, at my lowest I was hopeless. It gets better guys just hang in there and jam to $B. It helped get me through many nights crying alone
oddy nuff is also one of rubys old allies and he used drop a lot of music and tapes thats why he referenced "oddy nuff", as if he is also dropping lots of music every summer(which they are)

I am free from drugs for about 1,5 years, i get subutex injection from my hospital tho. I was on heroine/fentanyl/morphine/oxys before that i quit, i have always loved suicideboys, i loved to lay down and nodd off to their music.
But now when im clean i started to listen to them for real, and i really love the things they are talking about, i understand what they are saying.
Love how he went from 😁 to 😟 when ruby said addicted to sex addicted to drugs😭😭
Yo Tom, as a big suicideboys fan "I no longer get fear the razor guarding my heel" is another way of saying "I no longer fear death" as there's a grouping of veins in your inner heel which when cut would make you bleed out faster due to gravity and the blood being pulled down towards the injury.

The instrumentals throughout this mixtape are unreal. You hear them a lot in newer rap but this is a first for the boys and it sounds amazing. Especially the guitar at the end of not even ghosts are this empty. It adds a whole new level
On genius it states when they say “no matter how hard it gets, no matter how tough, don’t disobey when I say give me the gun” ruby is saying please don’t kill yourself, please just give me the gun, no matter how hard or tough it gets, just give me the gun and keep living.”
We've had quite a bit in the last 2 years between their solo projects and their various projects as a duo, but this project is top for me.
All 3 songs run together perfectly while contrasting one another at the same time, the lyrics describe a lot of my own journey with depression and life in general.
I could go on for a long time, but I need to be up in a few hours for work.

At 12:10 Scrim is referencing a song by Ruby (Oddy Nuff Da Snow Leopard) called Shark Attack.

It's crazy to watch how they have changed so drastically. The lyric about touching the sun and gaining the spotify listeners especially stands out as the music used to be so dark and grimy. Now it's still very explicit but the beats themselves seem far more complex and the lyrics more uplifting and positive. Getting sober really seems to have changed a lot for the boys.

I believe that beginning sample was from the movie "Gladiator", but I could be wrong.
On the last song I interpreted Scrim’s verse as he doesn’t know who he is because his life is online “don’t know where the sage ends and I begin” and he doesn’t know who he is because he’s sober now. He’s been on drugs his whole life he doesn’t know who he is so he goes back to the drugs because that’s who he is or who he think he is.
I think scrim wasn’t talking about them being blood cousins in the line “keeping a blade under my tongue just so I can guard my heel”. I personally think he was referring to self inflicted harm, either through usage, self degradation or suicidal thoughts, while putting up a wall (guard my heel) from outside sources hurting him.
raxor gaurding my heal could be a thing saying they dont fear the problems targeting their weaknesses. only reason i say that is because of aceals heal. prolly didnt spell that right

I’m addicted to sex, addicted to drugs, really whatever will make me feel loved is such an underrated line. Ruby has always had relationship issues and I think this line in particular really demonstrates that. Dude just wants to be loved above everything else. Hopefully now that he’s sober, he can maintain a relationship. Imagine seeing him and scrim have kids one day. It’s crazy to see how much they’ve grown as people. I also think this is the first time that Ruby has ever actually admitted that he has a drug problem.

I really really don't think people appreciate $B's enough. It's easy to write them off at face value but when you really listen to them it's simply magic. Literally everything is so carefully crafted and made with so much passion its just mind blowing, they are so incredibly talented.

Hey Tom I love these videos! I personally think the razor guarding the heel is a reference to Achilles in Greek mythology and how infamously was unable to die except his one weakness was his heel, I think the razor is the symbol of like it's guarding his heel but it's a great discomfort and even though he's unable to die from it, it's still antagonizing him and causing so much pain and discomfort. So it's just like mental illnesses in a way where they can't outright kill you but they're very similar where they're cutting at you slowly but surely. That's at least my best guess on it or how I've always thought about the meaning for it and symbolism
