Anyone else have advice? Tough to get grass to grow under an inherently acidic shade tree. Check your local nursery or landscape supply company for a shade mix buddy. I've used Pennington gold shade mix before and it worked good in a shady enviroment
Always learn a lot from you . I haven’t been watching your channel lately , and after watching this video I realize just how much I miss it . Thank you for sharing .
FYI it's an Improved clinch. Half hitch basically a half "granny" which is also start of a square or reef knot. Donkey bringing up the rear I figured those were asses.
:) wife and I were building the leanto by barn #1 and she kept saying it was too tall. Until I back the little bumper pull travel trailer under it.... My dozer is exactly 2" too tall to fit in either barn. 2 freaking inches. Grrrr. On the cover you had built watch your snow load. When we got the 12" of snow early this year the weight collapsed 100's of those here in Longview.
Funny story, we are new homesteaders and whenever we have to make a decision abt some like what to plant, chicken tractor designs whatever....my husband literally says “let’s see what Stoney Ridge has to say abt that” Josh you’re the 3rd adult on my homestead come to Texas and help us farm lol!!🪴🌿🥦🥗🌽👨🏽🌾
Far as that short carport building for tractor they make or you can make leg extensions to raise the height. Best knife I ever had was a rubber handle Gerber gator folder..
That is really neat that you can use the Millett seed as a parent seed to establish the other seeds instead of another crop seed. Is that seed implement considered no till? It is nice if you can over seed with it. It takes a lot of work to get the soil back to where it should be. Well thanks for sharing. I am wondering if the old A you have may be out of time. We always had very little trouble with our old H starting. It always ran well. Just thinking it a basic thing in the distributor and coil system. If not that I had to rebuild the carburetor. Sure you have something in your tool shed to tell if you are getting spark at the plugs.
I had a truck that I was doing occasional work on, Josh, and it seems that every time I would go to work on it, I would have to spray the wasps so I could work on it. I was recommended that Peake cleaner was most affective at killing them from a long range, and it actually worked well, and fast. How are your bees on work release doing? Are they earning their keep?
Knifes are only as good as how sharp they are I made a leather strop I can chuck in a drill and talk about keeping a nice edge on a blade. Buffs the edge to a mirror shine.
Enjoy your farm chore videos, sir. Cattle look happy. Can the cattle sense human concern stress levels when they bawl wanting their move? Like mama’s get stressed when their babies bawl?
They just wanna be moved lol....they're very used to the routine now and every time they see me it's move time. I make it a point to ride up and not move them ...so they don't think everytime josh comes up it's time to go somewhere
Josh Nice productive day I pray for rain to germinate seeds and give it a great established start. Good day of work good on you Josh Best David PS seen foxy fox back? Any action pew pew 3s process possibly
I use the same fishing knot. But I don't think it is called a half hitch. I use a different knot as a half hitch. I don't know a name for that fishing knot.
Get some railroad ties and put a row under each side of your car port. Drill through the frame every two or three feet and lag bolt the car port to the line of the railroad ties. Problem-solved my friend.
Josh, Curious as to why you would want broom straw grass growing? In my area it is not a desirable grass from what the old timers tell me. They say it is a sign of extremely poor soil. Is there a benefit other than helping the other grass establish?
I like that idea. I have an old shed and want to get a bigger tractor. Raise the roof! We have trouble getting railroad ties in our area. Years ago you could get them anywhere. We are in the process of using them for footers on an old shed. They should work for another 25 yrs. We have set them with a three point boom poll. Seems to work really well.
Install a lift kit on the shed HAHA!!!! I don't have a tractor so I don't have to worry about it, my lawn tractor fits just about everywhere I'd need to store it luckily LOL. The only tractor I'd probably ever need on the 1 acre I have would be one of the Kubota BX size tractors. It would have to get parked in the one side of my wood shed where I currently park my lawn tractor as that's the only spot a larger tractor will fit, and a great spot for it actually...just have to figure out where to store implements as I get them. I have a lean to on the barn, but that space could fill up pretty quickly so I'll have to start figuring that stuff out before I get a tractor HAHA!!!
Miles for a fence charger are not as important as how many joules it has. The amount of joules is how strong of a shock it gives. Most people go by miles.
so funny......our darn news channels have such an influence over our thought process....lol...I guess they were kinda demanding rights to new grass bhahaha
Hey Josh what grass seed should I use under Leyland cypress trees in having trouble getting any seed to grow thanks josh

@@StoneyRidgeFarmer his local agricultural extension agent would be a big help
Local CO Op may be of some help too.

Alpha beard
4x4 (6x6 etc) bolted along the bottom rail adds height and some weight for anchoring (if free standing)

Son, you are living the dream I had for so many years.
Thank you for making these videos. They are both informative and entertaining to watch. I can't wait to see your next video.
Really like seeing you move your cattle....😎
Hi.... Thank you 🎥👍👍👍
Josh I know you spend a lot of time with your cows . They trust you . You can't fake that . That's a good looking herd !
Thanks Brother Josh on the tips of grass seed we have pine multch from the Stump grinder
Another great post Josh.👍
great contents, never a dull momment
A battery drill with a long drill bit sized for your step in post will make it easy for dry weather my friend
Hey Josh 🇺🇲 The farm is looking great cow's look great WOOOOOO 🇺🇲
Great video Josh. You gave me some good pointers on electric fencing. Also good information on seeding. 👍👍👍❤️

a row or two of cement blocks under each side of the car port supports should raise it high enough to get the tractor under the car port.
Hey Josh, thanks for invaluable info. Brilliant as always!
i've had the same Leatherman super tool since 1995, last Gerber i had the pliers broke
Good morning! Great video! We sure hope we can get a tractor like that one day around our farm! Have a great weekend!
So glad you put this on as I’ll be ordering from Amazon to monitor my remote farm.
Just like putting fishing line on a reel! If I could grow a beard like you I’d be looking like ZZ TOP! Love it
Great video can't wait for the shop!
Gerber is good. So is Kershaw. It’s all about good steel and good sharpening.

Great job Josh i love the u thank things out lol be safe
Hey Josh, I believe that knot is called a improved clinch, TJ
Drive steel t-posts into the holes of the shed legs and drive it down as much as you need to
I have a little greenhouse, grow flowers and raise chickens for eggs.Best life ever!

Hey josh I’ve been wondering why you got a big tractor on a cattle farm if you don’t bale hay
good video bud very interesting thanks for sharing take care
Have you thought about using Pats easy change system on your 3 point hitch to save a little time when hooking up?
nice men more of the cow stuf love it . i think u should try the bail roller really like that system its gif laier fore seeds to come out
I carry a Gerber Multi tool that I was issued in the Army before I deployed to Iraq back in 04.
Love Gerber knives. Best I ever owned!
My idea for your car port is to raise the legs with cement and sauna tubes
Good stuff buddy
My father in law has a combine he uses from I wanna say 1947 or there abouts. He keeps it running and working. There's not a single electronic on it.

CRKT knives are pretty great too

Those Woods seeders are
Nice piece of equipment. We always use the Tye pasture pleaser that our district RC&D has to loan out. We just have to sign up for it.
Hey Josh, Have you done a walk around review on Big T yet?

Yes Josh human contact helps with anytime you must interact with them so the problems that sometimes occur would be less stressful.
I prefer my leatherman wave but I do have two gerbers, one without a blade for taking on planes
interesting....I like the center drive best of all...it's very useful and I have one on every truck, ATV and UTV
Hello from California
Josh

I would love to stop by sometime when I’m in the area, and maybe join you on the channel. I would love to learn more about your kind of farming.
Just curious. What is the purpose of having donkeys in with the cows? Love donkeys but trying to understand their role.
In a lot of cases they are for protection of the livestock especially calves, they will stomp the life out of coyotes.
Also bird poop is corrosive. Might want to tarp what's under the open sheds to cut down on poop deposits on the equipment.
What about placing the carport on railroad ties
I’m digging the background quiet guitar work under your talking. I’m guessing that is you playing?
Wear do I buy the instant beard growing juice?
I've always known the knot as a "Fisherman's Knot", which is kinda-sorta similar to a "Surgeon's Knot" :)
Do the donkeys help keep wild dogs and coyotes away?
Looking good
Have you had any problems with your TYM tractors shifting running working them hard?
no problems at all
Josh would the super seeder work to put in a winter pasture for winter grazin
Love it!
Thanks!!
jack your shed up on some cinderblocks
looks nice
I miss your Mr. T impersonation. "Shut up fool"!

You need a darning needle to get the cord through the handle much more easily.
Do you have a bull? If not, are there plans to get one (buy or hire)?
Josh, Curious as to why you would want broom straw grass growing? In my area it is not a desirable grass from what the old timers tell me. They say it is a sign of extremely poor soil. Is there a benefit other than helping the other grass establish?
Gerber is amazing! One of the only good things to come out of the crap hole known as Portland Oregon.
🚜-Woooo!!
Josh it has been a while for me to be on your channel. Do you drag or chain the fields after you move your cows?
Good morning! I assume none of your smaller tractors were operable or nearby?
“Cinch knot” for fishing and the “double cinch”.
When the tractor gets too tall, the shed goes up on a layer of railroad ties.
Yep or a row of dry layed cinder block
I like that idea. I have an old shed and want to get a bigger tractor. Raise the roof! We have trouble getting railroad ties in our area. Years ago you could get them anywhere. Layer or 2 of cinder block filled with concrete.
Have you ever thought about planting alfalfa in your fields?
Miles for a fence charger are not as important as how many joules it has. The amount of joules is how strong of a shock it gives. Most people go by miles.
gerber rocks
Tractor looks close. If you raise car port with 6x6's and with a little grease tractor shoud go in. Wooooooo....
What happens to the jd
Raise the bridge and the water will lower itself,I used blocks!
Your shelter needs a lift kit. Ha!
Forks would have worked good to move seeder out too
That appears to be an “improved clinch knot”.
Do you have any problems with your TYM tractors ?
no issues what so ever
Alike A Team on Jeep be cool with your logo on hood
Did you sell your John Deere
i like it
4:47 cow protest...lol
so funny......our darn news channels have such an influence over our thought process....lol...I guess they were kinda demanding rights to new grass bhahaha
Your Jeep looks like Nellie Bell from Roy Rogers. I see you have birds crapping on your seeder. Better cover the Jeep with a tarp.
let the air out of the tires and it will go under
Hey brother, if you got clay like me, you should check out rammed earth. Looks good, is cheap and lasts a thousand years.
Hi
WATER & DAWN DISH SOAP IN A SPRAY BOTTLE FOR WASP CONTROL.

My old supervisor said I had a PhD.
Man you sure can grow a beard back fast. LOL
just wait till tomorrow's vid! Sometimes I'm about a week out on editing...when I shave it makes for some "off beard" days lol
I thought it was going to be the same super duper fast growing grass as thet beard...
Cows say moove.
Why didn’t you just use one of your many other tractors to get the seeder out
Bet you could have got the seeder easier with the forks
