The dessert you had is from a single goat. That goat is the offspring of the last goat that made of the cheesecakes for the restaurant. When the former goat had died they stopped serving the cheesecake for a period. My wife and I frequent this restaurant and found it amazing that they didn't tell guests that the cheesecake is only made from a single goat. If that goat has issues, well it's pulled from the menu. Giving you a little context to what you ate. I am a Florida native and my family is from Lake County to give you an idea of my background. Glad you guys had a great experience at a restaurant that my wife and I consider the best in Mt Dora.
We’ve been by this restaurant many times but haven’t had a meal there. But will definitely try it next time we’re in Mt. Dora based on your experience. Thanks for another great video.
You missed out. We live in Daytona Beach and go on Sunday's around 4 or 5 times a year to 1921. The burger is by far their best seller. We sit and watch so many coming out. The French Fries are by far the best we have ever found. The butter on the rolls rotates. I would have liked the one you had. Also ask what the butter is for the day that you are there. Worth another visit. Thank you for the Grandpa Joe's Candy Shop video. We have reservations is Ocala in the Historic District next weekend. Looking forward to a visit there.
Thank you! We have a full tour that might benefit you before you go but it’s a very cool place! Hope to get the top five going soon. Have a safe and fun time!
I’ve eaten there a few times, food is delicious. When you leave the restaurant turn left and go a few doors down there’s an exceptional bakery, coffee shop. Allyson A Bake Shop.
Looks good and interesting. I don’t know if I’d ever eat a rabbit ! I can just see it☹️. Expensive! Should come with rolls. 9$? For 3? Wow. Have u tried the Cuban on the corner? Love mofungo!!
Yeah it was interesting to try some of the food we don’t usually eat. Those rolls were so good, even though expensive. Which Cuban place? I think we have tried all of them!
I had the pork ribeye but think small filet size, I offered my wife and my friends wife a taste, after I cut off the two pieces, I had little to work with, fat and a few bits of meat. They said it was delicious. But quality is better than quantity at fine dining, but comes at a price.
I expected it to be different inside, maybe more historic? Nothing on the menu piques my interest. The rolls look very much like the actual ones from The Parker House Hotel, my old stomping grounds. I miss the crusty french rolls in New England. Hard and crusty on the outside, tender and doughy on the inside. That with a nice cold slab or butter is outstanding! Tember's risotto is hiding under the zucchini slices. Those are some tasty "vittles" as Granny used to say on the Beverly Hillbillies. "I don't know what that is either" It's 🐰🐇🐰The pork ribeye looks very good! Hibiscus - Muscadine gelee on the cheesecake. Not sure what the "grapes" were... All of the desserts on the menu looked great! I saw the Bee Gees with Gloria Estefan in the early 90s in Miami. When I hear that song, I think of the movie, Saturday Night Fever, because I saw it when it first came out. I make a pumpkin cheesecake every year at Thanksgiving, and a cherry chocolate cheesecake for Christmas. I found a FANTASTIC recipe a few years back and pull it out every year.
Wow it sounds like you know how to cook some great stuff! It was an okay restaurant. They are sometimes too fancy for us. The dessert and rolls were very good! Thanks for sharing all this information!
Wonder what’s behind the name? Is it the address? Just curious since it’s so unique. I think at such an expensive place the rolls should come with the meal.

Wow! That is an amazing piece of information. We had no idea. That is really cool they do that and have that story to tell. Thank you for sharing!

Thanks so much for watching! It’s fancy and has good food!
Looks good. Restaurant decor looks like it could be in a Museum and/or an Art Gallery.
True! There is an art museum right across the street so maybe they got some of their art from there!
Love you guys. Keep up the good work. Live in Mt Dora, havn't tried 1921 yet.
Thank you! It was an interesting place. Unique items!
Looking forward to tasting the rolls and cheese cake that Tember called the best! Very nice restaurant 👌...love the ambiance and the music 🎶

That’s true! We will have to look up and see what we can find. Very expensive meal but at least the rolls were stinkin’ good!
To me that wasn't fine dining, but nice menu and i would love to try, prices normal not high.
It’s definitely fine dining for us lol
Hi, "This is where you enter, it says entrance"😅😅😅😅😅😅.
Haha oops did I say that? 🤣
@@thealtemlife Nahhhh, you would never give every detail in your videos. From almost every word on the menu to where the 🚻 bathrooms are.
That’s why people like watching so they know the full experience of what they are getting when dining out!
In my younger days I climbed Mt. Dora. I have a bumper sticker to prove it.
Haha this is awesome!
Rolls looked great but 9$ tho? 😅
Never would want to pay that much for rolls but they were totally great!
