The lid is for you to press the air out and close up so it will keep the food fresh for longer in the fridge.
With my wife, we go into B&M for one thing, and come out with one thing PLUS a bottle of Dooley's toffee vodka!!!(It's my wife's favourite tipple, and B&M seems to be the only place we can find it these days!)
