I have the EXACT SAME ISSUE with my fingernails!!! Acrylic for decades, switched to ‘dip’ a few months ago.

You should try ASP builder gel from Sally’s it comes in a bottle with a brush just like a nail polish and you paint it on and cure it under the light and it’s basically just like getting gel nails done but doesn’t ruin them as much! Then you can file it to rough it up and paint or dip powder over it :)
